The hotel was well located for town access. Room was comfortable and clean. The food was of a high quality with friendly service. The hotel comprised two buildings joined by an aerial walkway; our room, unfortunately, was located in the annex building, with no direct lift access. We found it a bit of a trek for a mature couple. WiFi, whilst provided free, was useless, as connection could not be made in our room.

The whole experience was excellent. The staff were very friendly especially the receptionist who kept us entertained with his scottish sense of humour. Our dinner and breakfast was excellent. We could only stay one night due to other commitments but we will be back.

South of Scotland League Anniversary Dinner was perfect in all aspects.Reception and all staff were first rate and bedroom was clean and comfortable Room 49 television was outdated and reception kept going off.Useless.Luckily we didnt need it!Shower head was past its sell by date with very uneven flow.

The location as we were attending the Railway Club Saturday Evening for a function We had nothing to complain about, staff were attentive and well mannered, the room was cosy, clean and we had a good nights sleep

My husband and I were staying there for a business conference, we really enjoyed our stay, rooms were comfortable and clean, breakfast was plentiful and beautiful and staff were very nice and helpful. We would love to stay again. The fact that when I made the online booking they phoned me to say there was something wrong with my card so I gave them the numbers again and they confirmed the booking and said that it had went through successfully. When we checked in she asked me for my payment, to which I replied I had already payed, but they told me they only take payments on arrival, so I don't understand why I had the hassle of the cards over the phone.

Fantastic value for money. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Partner loved the leisure facilities. Room was clean and comfortable. View from window was awful. Water pressure was very very poor, so took too long to fill a bath and the shower was not enjoyable.

All staff were excellent and helpful. The barman (from Kenya) was polite and helpful. Top marks to him. Food was average. Whole place could do with refurbishment. But it was a friendly place and we'd go back.

Nothing! The poor decor. The hard uncomfortable bed. The paper thin walls which meant every noise from the lengthy intimate session happening next door meant no sleep for us! I just didn't like this hotel and would not recommend it!

Breakfast was of a good strandard. Well presented and a good variety of food. Good standard of cleanliness in the rooms. We were most disappointed with the dinner in the hotel on the Sunday night. Down stairs to a pub grub type setting where you walk past part of the cooking area. We were expecting a dining room setting.

Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Comfortable bed. Big, clean bathroom and very fresh towels. Very easy to find. Ladies changing room for pool/spa needs a bit of TLC!

All the staff were excellent, and the hotel is in a great location for accessing the surrounding area. By staying here you are supporting a family run business. Fitness suite and pool useful but don't expect too much. Limited menu in the small restaurant (only one open when we stayed), two nights eating there was enough. Room was good but not up to the standard of more modern hotels.
