The outside promises a lot, but inside it represents rather 'faded elegance'.The corridors, carpets and room were tatty. We attended a christmas function there and the mass catering was not good. The breakfast on the other hand was excellent! |

Centrally located. Large and airy atmosphere. Bar and breakfast both quite good. Good value overall. Decor and decoration a bit faded (- e.g. our room window was in desperate need of attention!) Room direction signage rather confusing. Disparity between quality of different rooms quite marked. |

Reception was very welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was good, there was a very good choice. My bedroom was very old fashioned & dated & also very small. |

The room, it was spacious - we were up graded to a club room because our booking was not confirmed via the internet. Good job we took a copy of our booking!!! The breakfast was great too! If we had not been up graded I wondered what our room would be have been like! |

Choice of food at breakfast was excellent.Spacious restaurant with relaxed feel. Hotel within short walk of main shopping area. We only stayed for 1 night but were disappointed with our evening meal.Boring menu and very little choice of veg. Also bedroom very dark which wasn't helped by some of the lights not working. |

The friendly staff. Everyone had a genuine smile and was extremely helpful. The disabled facilities for my wife were first class and the food and service was excellent. Some areas are a little worn with use, but then it is a very old building. |

Very good breakfast, all the facilities were clean and tidy, plenty of staff. Convenient for Conference Centre and shops. Bedroom 107 could do with a little tlc regardng scuffed paintwork also wallpaper coming away. Perhaps shortage of electrical sockets (only one spare) |

The Hotel is delightful. Very Victorian and in good taste. The dining room is excellent although I only had breakfast there it was very well done. I over heard two older ladies talking and one said "Oh I do like it here" the second lady said "yes but it reminds me of a Victorian Brothel." I had to laugh and wonder how she knew! |

The hotel's ambience, the staff's pleasantry, the restaurant's food and service, walking distance from sights and shopping. Not only that, but the bus stop is out front as well. Perfect for me since I had arrived via bus tour. |

The location and car park.large dining room and entrance foyer. A nice comfortable feel about the hotel, which made it a relaxing weekend. Hotel sign on outside of building let it down. |

Good location The hotel was fine overall. The ground and first floors was attractive but the second floor where our room was looked run down and shabby. The room however was fine. |
