staff, food, cleanliness
A very tired building which will need a lot of renovation but apart from the building everything else is ok
Staff very friendly. Breakfast super
View from window. Overlooking derelict building!
The hole place
Very relaxed and friendly hotel. Booked superior room on first floor-unfortunately weather rather cool in evenings-central heating not working properly-not able to resolve problem so upgraded us to suite with all the extras. Very satisfied.
room nice and large. on the whole the hotel needs a facelift and was being decorated while we were there. Breakfasts good and plenty of room for parking.
television was the oldest we had seen for many years, but when told the set wasn't working as it should they changed it to a flat screen type although only approx. a dozen channels on it.
room a bit small
Free car parking Spacious lounge areas
Quick walk to town, great shops, good restaurants, nice hotel, great breakfast.
Don`t book room 134! the floorboards upstairs were terribly noisy and we were woken before 6am by people endlessly moving about.
Location very convenient, easy walk to town centre Cost, good value including breakfast Breakfast, good choice and tasty Room, not luxurious but perfectly comfortable and quiet Staff, very helpful and friendly
This hotel, with its very large car park, is ideally located for the Royal Hall and shopping areas. The entrance lounge provides an ideal place for relaxing with a cup of tea or perhaps full afternoon tea. It is quiet and is a good place to read and people watch.
There is nothing to say about things to not like about this hotel.
Really good location for the town
A bit scruffy. Major renovation works underway which don't help.
Good location, friendly staff excellent service good food.
Nice room. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Spacious loads of character and superb food
old fashioned in some areas but adds to the historical nature of classic hotel. Not a problem though
The olde worlde feel of the place. It was very Downton.
Single bed (my own fault) Lack of a gym The lack of anywhere to work on the computer at night that had internet and a decent height table.
Despite size and formidable job owner company has to maintain a large 'mature' building, the Hotel is well maintained and decorated and is spotlessly clean. New bathroom was a welcome facility.
The Hotel was in an excellent location and the staff were really friendly and helpful! The breakfast was amazing! :-)
The room was a bit dirty, needed a good hoover. There was a half full glass of water on the bedside table. The bed was really uncomfortable! :-(
Location, Character, Parking, Room size and always plenty of staff on duty.
Looked good from outside
Corridors were like a hospital bedroom so basic and toilet felt like I stayed in hospital staff were too quick to cut off breakfast time not even an extra ten minutes
breakfast, lounge staff .setting of hotel
room small, reqested spacious room ,came back from breakfast to find staff in cleaning room at 8.25. alot of noise from room above floor boards at 1.15 in the morning. cobwebs in lights above bed, tv needing updateing.
location and value for dinner
creaky floors above our bedroom which made it sound like we had intruders in the room. In view of this whilst we would visit again, would feel reluctant to recommend to friends without a proviso!
Gracious old hotel with lots of atmosphere and freindly helpful staff. Great location close to everything in Harrogate. Good size room and nice breakfast.
Pillows were a bit flat which contributed to an uneasy sleep.
Staff. Food .rooms .location

View from room roof tops of lower levels of hotel
