The staff were very friendly and professional and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the use of the leisure facilities. Our room was very tidy and comfortable. The food was very enjoyable and the service in the restaurant and bar, also on the reception desk, was excellent. We would like to stay at the Castle Inn again as we found it very relaxing and enjoyable.

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout, taking care of a particular need. I had expensive camera equipment and felt uneasy about leaving it in the car or room - they gladly put it in a secure place for me whilst my wife and I enjoyed a day's walking. The bar/restaurant staff were friendly talkative and polite throughout. The towels at the spa were small. I had no issue with the request to use only 1 towel but feel they need to be a bit bigger than they are. The bed, though big enough had a sagging mattress, so you felt at all times you were going to roll into the centre of the bed.

The staff where excellent - very customer focussed and friendly. The food was very good although the menu was a little limited and the Specials Menu repeated every 3 days. We stayed on a half board basis and it was only when we arrived that we discovered that an allowance of £22.50 was given per person to set against the cost of an evening meal. Very few starter/mains/desserts options fell within the £22.50. Annoylingly during our stay the cost of some of the main courses increased by at least £1 and so our inclusive half board basis became increasingly less so.

The location was excellent. Doors were shabby, cobwebs on the bedside lamp, no mineral water in the room, dirty hand towel in the bathroom and the tea at breakfast didn't taste very good.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. I had ask for a special request of wine in the room and the hotel had nicely put one there for me with a letter which was very nice. you felt very relaxed in the hotel. The breakfast there was a good choice of food and was nice. The room was nice as we stayed in a suite and was comfortable. Dinner was of poor quality for the price. Had dinner one night and was lovely and the next night not so good.

Staff were brilliant Food: Breakfast was great, main evening meals were nice but menu limited. One occasion of being served re heated chips, which just should not happen in a 4 star hotel

We were upgraded from a standard room to a suite; it was a lovely room with views over the mountains and the lake. Our room was on the front of the hotel and occasionally we were affected by cigarette smoke drifting up from guests who came outside to smoke and also guests chatting on the steps or on mobile phones. However it was not a major problem for us; we did not need to complain about it. Next year they are moving their reception to the other side of the hotel and the hotel told us that there will be a dedicated smoking area provided for guests to use.

Quiet loaction, good selection for breakfast with fast and freindly staff For a single occupancy I though the price was rather expensive, being in a rural location I was unable to loacte a cash machine and therfore asked at reception if I could draw £10 either from my credit or debit for parking the next day, a simple request but was told this could not be done ?

The location was excellent, the staff were very helpful, the facilities were very good, the building was in good condition and clean and the atmosphere of the place was very relaxing. We enjoyed those parts The hotel was used for weddings and functions at night so it was very noisy into the night, up to 1.30 am. That didnt allow us to get a good night sleep on both nights of our stay. There were also drunken men wandering the corridors quite early in the evening.

Ideally located for visiting family in the area. Only thing that was a let down for us was the bed, in as that this was to soft and got up in the morning with a stiff back, but this is a preference to a firmer bed only and not enough to say a bad point.

I have stayed at many hotels over the years, but this one was definitely the best. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and so helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We have a very active 8 year old girl, and she loved the swimming pool, and again the staff were very patient and kind to her. For the adults the sauna, steam and jacuzzi were great after a day out walking and touring. The food was excellent quality and well priced and the breakfast was superb. The executive room was spacious and comfortably heated and the bed was massive and comfortable. I could not find any faults with this hotel.

Castle Inn was exactly as described, a good location, good facilities and at a reasonable price. On arrival we recieved a free room upgrade, which is always very welcome. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were of a very good standard. Cleanliness very good throughout. The breakfast choice and quality excellent. Bar prices not too bad The leasure facilities were good and I'm sure when the refurb is done will be of a high standard. . The restaurant food choice was fairly limited more choice in the bar area although what we did choose to eat was good.

Well positioned for the northern lakes. A delightful hotel with excellent spa facilities. Food in the bar was very good. Room was large and comfy and well decorated and clean. The steam room thermostat was not set right, meaning you were either too cool or char broiled. Everything else was excellent.
