Friendly and hospitable staff. Food was good. Rooms were outdated and we had many problems - had to change rooms 2 times in 1 night - first room smelt of smoke, and second room we couldnt access as key wouldnt work, and it took staff 9 hrs to get into room by breaking down the door. It was disasterous - my contacts were in this room so I was blind for 9 hrs.

Nice hotel and facilities. Nice breakfast. The constant noise that sounded like the hot water boiler above our room churning all night with an odd bang thrown in every now and again. It sounded a bit like what others have described in their reviews but strangely enough upon checking out the staff had no idea what this could be and were going to get maintenance to have a look.

The setting for this hotel is picturesque. The food was of a poor standard having to send food back to be cooked that was still frozen!

Location Paid extra for executive twin room which looked out onto trellassing in front of the window so No view what so ever. The location was amazing so this was a big disappointment so was the price £129. Breakfast wasn't the best either unfortunately.

Comfortable beds and great size family room. Good range of complimentary toiletries. Lovely food, great staff. Great kids room. Nice pool. Nothing. The hotel and staff were very accommodating. The hotel is lovely, although some parts are a little tired - this can be overlooked because it is very clean and has a wonderful atmosphere.

Booked a secret deal last minute and expected a really small room but stayed in a very large, comfortable room with a lovely bathroom and great view of the countryside. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and we ate in the hotel bar both evenings. Husband enjoyed the food more than me but that was just a couple of bad choices on my part (salmon pasta smothered in cheese was a real mistake) Used the pool and sauna both days but very disappointed that both the jacuzzi and steam room were out of order. Trips to Keswick, Cockermouth and Maryport recommended. No problems with check in and out. Jacuzzi and steam room both out of order. (We did call the day before and were informed that the steam room was unavailable) For people booking this hotel because of the leisure facilities we were disappointed. There isn't much else to do without getting in the car. Dripping noise throughout the night at regular intervals kept me awake. Turned the radiator off on the 2nd night but this didn't help and couldn't trace where the noise was coming from.

Great staff, especially Nick behind the bar! Great pool and Sauna. Some of the older rooms could do with sound-proofing.

We liked everything about this hotel and would recommend it to anyone , the staff, rooms, food, and spa were all first class, I could not fault any of them , our room may not have had much of a view but that happens sometimes not every one can have the best rooms at the same time 10/10 from me.

Loved the ground floor executive room, it was room 66 very quiet and relaxing. All staff really friendly and professional, making our stay memorable would have loved to have stopped longer. Food was really lovely well presented, we had meals for borh nights in the bar, but did not eat in the restaurant, maybe next time. Nothing to add.

The breakfast and bar food was so delicious and all the staff were delightful. My double mattress was lumpy on one side of the bed, so I slept on the other, no great problem.

Location was great - outside towns in the countryside but within easy distance. Lovely hotel, a lot bigger than expected. Staff very friendly. Pasta dishes on Bar menu was limited. You got large portions but it was either vegetarian/tomato based or fish.
