The location The food was excellent The en suite was excellent The staff were very well trained and very friendly and helpful
The mattress was too soft The food was slightly expensive
The staff were great! The reception, restaurant staff, and the lovely lady vacuuming at some ungodly holiday hour, were so friendly. Very clean, well maintained premises.
Wi-fi was a bit erratic, but understandable in these remote parts.
The whole experience was excellent, we felt welcome, comfortable and realy at home, not one bad comment to make.
- The tennis court was unusable - Our beds sheets were not changed once in the 7 days we stayed! - Rooms were dirty - View of the adjacent wall
Breakfast good and room v good.
Meal in bar poor and returned it. Room needs fridge.
Very personable staff, proffessional and attentive. Good leisure facilities.
Room was small, booked as an executive room but although well appointed, felt it lacked anything more than standard status. Could have been anywhere as there was no indication of the beautiful location from inside the room.
location, pool, car park, room, breakfast
wifi very hit and miss, food very expensive, refused to give best western loyalty points, an increasing trend among best western hotels
very helpful friendly staff
no lav brush in toilet which blocked
The location, the room, all staff we had dealings with, the grounds
Expense of food.
The hotel was great and very comfortable. Great views. Excellent room although we looked over the garden and not views of the hills and lakes which would have been nice
The SatNav found the postcode to be fully 7 miles away in Keswick town centre!! We finally arrived at the hotel at 12:15am and had to be up by 6am as we had a funeral to attend. Therefore we weren't able to appreciate any of the facilities or comfort of the hotel. I couldn't say a bad word about the staff but extremely unsatisfied with the difficulty in finding it after nearly 6hrs of travelling. We should have been told about this so we could have printed them out (obviously didn't realise this beforehand as we thought the SatNav would have been fine)
Just too far away from Keswick and ther is literally nothing in the nearby village.
Gym good, rood excellent think we had a family room upgrade. Bath and shower room very modern.
Food in the bar was ok but not exciting home made menu or specials would have been better. Shower pressure poor
We have been coming to stay at The Castle Inn for over 20 years. We have seen many changes and extensions etc and still feel very at home when we are there. We started to come when the children were only small as there is plenty to do.
It seems to be getting quite pricey now and dont feel we can afford it as much
EVERYTHING REALLY-A VERY WELL RUN HOTEL.
NO SANDWICHES IN THE EVENING.
The food in the Lakers Bar was great. Breakfast was plenty and very good. Beautiful views. Plenty of walks. Will definitely return, was our third stay.
The Jacuzzi not working. We had room 23,Executive Suite, overlooking the road, entrance to the bar underneath. As it was very hot in the room we opened the windows, but that was very noisy with the cars racing past and guests going for a smoke outside.
Food poor, my starter garlic bread came as we were finishing our main meal. The volume of peas on my plate was more than the rest of the meal. No Jacuzzi,
The relaxed atmosphere and the leisure club.
Having been climbing all weekend and camping I was looking forward to a nice treat. The young lady on reception was charming and very helpful. The room was a decent size and the bed was a good size too. The shower was delightful and most of all the night sleep was undisturbed by staff emptying bottle banks at silly oclock. Breakfast was ok but we didnt get our tea, coffee and toast until after our main breakfast had arrived...petty but well...you asked.
The spa closed too early. The restaurant stopped serving too early and the bar shut too early...but I did arrive quite late ie 8:30 and its not exactly in the centre of Keswick. ..
My husband & I stayed for one night as we had friends staying at their local sailing club. We arrived early & although our room wasn't ready the reception staff did all they could to accommodate us & when we explained we wouldn't be back til late - went out of their way to ensure we we're checked in & our bags kept safe. The staff really did this hotel proud. We stayed in an executive room (just lovely) & enjoyed a very delicious & very freshly served breakfast the following morning.
The walls were decorated quite darkly so made the corridors look quite dark.
The staff are excellent, they do everything they can for you. The food is good and the hotel is spotlessly clean. Overall it is a good hotel with leisure amenities
It is not walking distance to a town
A wonderful place to stay. Very peaceful with lovely views. The staff were very helpful & the food in the bar was excellent. We would definitely stay again.
The WiFi was erratic so if you need to use the internet you nay struggle
Staff, service, location and food very good. Unfortunately had to move rooms after first night, but staff were extremely helpful
Room 63. Far too hot and suffered from noisy fans from kitchen (?) New room was perfect
the room was comfortable and clean service was really good
location from the lake was not good direactions not clear takes 25 minutes to lake
