Located on the seafront, overlooking Bournemouth Bay, this modern and uniquely styled hotel has a 1930s Art Deco style, a seasonal outdoor heated pool, a day spa, and a lido deck.
Score from 914 reviews Very good
Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It offers 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.
Score from 1760 reviews Good
The Riviera Hotel has a peaceful location, looking out over the trees of Alum Chine to the bay.
Score from 702 reviews Very good
charme, building, location,
very soft bed, Wifi very slow or bad,
Good food, nice rooms, wifi good and spa was great
Parking can be a bit tight
Food/presentation Ambiance of establishment was very pleasant room was very nice
Balcony was not c thru so no sea view when sat down leisure centre/dos down steep stairs and poorly laid out
Would recommend breakfast and evening meal, both very good quality. Staff very helpful and friendly both on reception and in the restaurant
Room service ordered panini which was tasteless and served with stale crisps. Stayed in room 26 carpet was heavily stained. Was very disappointed with the quality of room and believe it was not worth the £280 we had paid for a two night stay
Pleasant Staff,Good Service & Good Food
As the room had Patio doors there was no window that you could open at night to let fresh air in.
IT WAS LOVELY, OLD FASHIONED WITH A MODERN TWIST!
LACK OF PARKING
Good leisure facilities such as outdoor pool, heated and was lovely even on chilly October day. Inside pool and gym. Lovely grounds and good location.
Staff weren't bending over backwards to help. Rooms were adequate but tired, sea view room was pushing it as you could see the sea from one aspect of the room, no fridge and had to pay for one.
Location and choice of indoor or outdoor pools
Large airy room. Lovely entrance and dining room. Leisure facilities very good. Swimming outdoors in October!
Parts of the hotel are a bit tired.
Breakfast (buffet) till 10.00 am was very relaxing and evening meal very good - outdoor pool 31 degrees great -indoor pool and facilities for the dull days. Manager and staff very friendly and efficient, not at all intrusive. Room large, clean, tidy and comfortable. All in all a very pleasant stay. Will be back.
No reflection on the hotel. Have been coming to Bournemouth area for many years. Unfortunately Boscombe town appears rather run down these days - the empty TJ Hughes shop does not help. We felt very uneasy walking into town after dark - just to streach our legs after the evening meal.
location was excellent
walls of rooms very thin therefore lots of noise.
Location Staff were helpful
Hotel needs a upgrade
Great value for money. Clean and modern rooms. Excellent facilities indoor and outdoor pool and spa. Food lovely. Staff very friendly and attentive. 5 min drive to town.
staff /food /clean in main hotel and all seemed to be happy
was put in west wing on bottom floor looking at road had to pay extra £40 for up grade to second floor with view when i asked when booking for a view it was not done and it seemed that the room was avalable the just wanted more money not happy with that/ and a few stains on carpet/ and the west wing was not mentioned when booking i was under the impression we were staying in main hotel thanks
Everything was good no complaint
Sea view, hot tub (our first experience of one!), lovely warm outdoor pool, indoor pool, wonderful food in dining room with superb views over the gardens and sea.
The rather antique lift, bar area well used in evenings so no quieter lounge area in which to relax
The proximity to the beach, outdoor pool and hot tub.
The gardens and access to the beech are very good. Breakfast buffet style and food very nice' Had a sea view room which was light and pleasant
Although the resturant was nice, they only have a limited menu
Garden Easy access to promenade Reception staff were fairly helpful
Staff at breakfast were very rude. The member of staff who escorted us to our table gave no eye contact and barely communicated with us. A member of staff at the hotplate was uninterested when I burnt my hand on a scorching plate he had just put out for guests to serve themselves with breakfast. There were many stains on the carpet and furniture in the room. Doors outside our room being slammed disturbed us throughout the night. Overall, the hotel did not feel like it was well managed/maintained and staff didn't seem happy or well-motivated.
lovely pools inside and out and good staff making it a very nice relaxed stay away from home.
Size of hotel room Great breakfast
Great value very comfortable very clean
Bathroom very small shower very small indeed
The fabulous location ! Just perfect - I don't think you could beat this in Bournemouth. The wonderful outdoor swimming pool - it was like stepping into a warm bath and could certainly use well into the winter months. The indoor pool and outdoor hot tub were also a pleasure. The reception staff were very welcoming and assisting, as were others around the hotel. The quirkiness of the hotel which clearly has quite a history.
Although a fabulous spot with fab views, the room was disappointing. Very dated and tired and, my opinion, needs a total re-vamp, but everything else at the Chine more than made for this.
Everything about the hotel is perfect The setting, so close to the beach, lovely gardens Terrific heated pools indoor & outdoor & same with Jaccuzzi's Food selection is gourmet standard & a full English breakfast "eat as mush as u wish" All the staff members were very polite & extremely helpful, the hotel was very peaceful & enjoyed a good nights sleep, with a late 11:00am check out too, faultless hotel & I will now become a frequent visitor to "the Chine Hotel"
To be honest There was not a single thing I disliked about this hotel,
Lovely hot tub in nice garden so relax
