Good location and comfortable, staff helpfull and friendly including the pool attendent, the breakfast was very good. Not impressed with the tv had to get it seen too twice, the mirrors and windows in the room were not clean and the balcony needed to be swept and washed due to bird poo contamination. Dissapointed with the evening meal as we ordered the beef which arrived with a very small amount of vegetables so had to order extra at a cost of £2.50. As the cost of the meal was £18.95 we thought this was a bit much, we noticed nearly all the other diners had to do the same and order extra vegetables or chips. I would recommend this hotel but not the resturant.

Hotel is in a great location, on hill looking Boscombe pier. There is a direct access by a green walk down the hill from the back of the hotel to pier and beaches. It takes around 3 minutes. Hotel staff is very friendly, extremely helpful. Hotel has nice gardens to relax, nice swimming pools both outdoor (shame it was closed due to season) and indoor. Nice restaurant with a sleek design and sea view. Nice child play room, our daughter loved it. We will probably come back to this hotel. From the hotel, it is around 30 minutes beach walk to Bournemouth pier, where the main attraction is. There is a small train on wheels from Boscombe pier to Bournemouth pier, you may want to catch it instead. It is very difficult to go up and down to hotel from/to beaches if you have a baby and a pushchair. Especially climbing up can be very troublesome. Elevator in the hotel is a very old style, we had to fold the pushchair every time. Also, in order to go to garden or swimming area, you have to carry pushchair yourself as there is no elevator access. Depending on your room location, you may need to take extra stairs too. Breakfast could be better. Restaurant is popular in dinner time, nice but keep in mind portions are small. Worst thing about this hotel is parking. There is a parking area in front of the hotel but lines are drawn so narrow it is difficult to go out of the car. And, now I have a bad scratch on my brand new car, that I blame on the parking area design.

just a lovely venue. The food was lovely and the hotel grounds so quiet and restful. This is my second stay at the hotel and returned due to it being outstanding. Only downside is the parking, if none available at front of hotel no indication where they other parking is - site says up to 50 parking spaces but only about 10 that we could find!!!

Very satisfied for the money we paid. The staff were great, very helpful. The breakfast was fine but the best bit was the bed! Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, apart from mine of course. When booking the parking situation could be made a little clearer.

The building was spacious and elegant, well decorated and warm. The gardens, even in November, were attractive to sit in or to view through the large south facing windows. Our bedroom was large and comfortable. Breakfasts were very well cooked with variety and the staff were attentive. We were disappointed with the evening dinner. We felt it was over priced for the menu that we were offered and consequently we only ate in the hotel on our first night.

i like the spa and the all the facilities and also specially the food and the service of the staff they were very helpful also the location was awesome ,end of the day i didnt want to leave that lovely garden and the location . me and my fiancée had a great time it was bit noisy out side the room because i saw there was a program for children out side of our room ...i think some thing like that should be held away from rooms then it want be a disturbance for other people . and i suggest during summer..its better to keep a fridge in the room..

On reading other reviews of the hotel, I wasnt too sure what to expect but one of the main things that I was surprised about was the quality of the breakfast - other reviews had said that it was cold, slow etc but I didnt see this as the case as it was a lovely buffet breakfast which was all fresh and hot. The staff were very polite and helpful. I would recommend having smart clothes with you if you plan on eating in the hotel restaurant as at times we felt a little under-dressed for the hotel I think the only thing that was a let down was the parking as it is quite limited. We found that once we had a parking space, we then went everywhere else on foot otherwise it was on-street parking.

Overall the hotel was fantastic, I'm generally very critical and find fault with something wherever, the room was absolutely lovely, the breakfast was great, and the staff very helpful and friendly The 2 tiny downfalls for me were: 1. I booked a room for two.. There were two single beds pushed together to make one, which you could easily pull apart if required, however, we wanted it as a double- fine, nearly all hotels operate to this system, however, the beds wouldn't stay together and the matresses kept sliding apart, which was just annoying! Secondly- the dustbin lorry at 7am outside was stupidly loud, although this is no fault of the hotels, maybe they should consider moving the bins to the main road rather than the lorry pulling up outside the room windows at the back of the hotel!

Second time staying at the Chine. Rooms a re large and well decorated. Staff are very accommodating, we didn't arrive until 11.20 pm but were still able to get a drink at the bar, which had already closed by the time we dropped our bags off. Good breakfast and staff all appear to enjoy their job, meaning that the service the guest receives is very pleasant.

Very comfortable public rooms and excellent staff who were most helpful despite being busy with Christmas parties. Games room (snooker, table tennis and darts) a great asset with older children. Rooms a little utilitarian, especially the bathroom but not such a problem as to spoil the stay.

The rooms were very spacious and had a great view of the sea. Gym and spa were a great joy to use for relaxation! The 3 course dinner was absolutely superb! One of the best meals I have ever eaten. The staff were very attentive and friendly and did all they could to help you if needed. Location was great for a stroll to the beach. Me and my girlfriend have a baby due in March and are definitely considering booking the Chine hotel again No dvd player in the room which would have been nice but thats just being picky

Your classifications above do not cover my 'like'. I find the hotel charming and comfortable. I love the view of the garden when having dinner and breakfast. The price is in the range that I pay. The location is convenient for me seeing my friends. The staff are friendly. The room was a bit chilly....it would have been good had the radiator been turned on before I came. It was a cold day.

“Fantastic family friendly hotel with large rooms and lots of space. We had a large double room with two extra camp beds put in and still had space to swing a cat or two!! The swimming pool area is lovely and although children are only allowed at certain times it is still very family friendly. Breakfast is great and again it is family friendly, my children were very pleased to be allowed to choose their own breakfast! ” Agnes, Reading |
