We were in the 'West Wing'- very quiet with lovely large, comfortable room. The Roman Spa and gym were great. The breakfast was excellent too (buffet style). A short walk through the lovely hotel gardens leads you to Boscombe Pier. Bournemouth only a 30 minute walk along the prom.

    Coming home!!!

Very friendly staff especially behind the bar. Facilities very nice , close to the beach, has been allocated in the west wing but no problem with changing the room to the main building. Great sea view. Reception staff very helpfull. Even when the weather is not good you can spend time nicely inside the hotel.

Rooms look better on the picture then in reality. Average breakfast, not much value for the money we spent on the room.

Good standard of traditional hotel comforts.

Some of the reception staff could speak more slowly. Just talk to me, don't rattle off your welcome speech.

Staff were wonderful and really went the extra mile. Atmosphere and setting were charming.

Our room with a balcony snd sea view was through netting and over a large flat roof, which was quite unattractive really. Hardly worth paying a premium for. From what I could see this would not affect many rooms though. Also the noise from a wedding under us was very loud until quite late, though we were warned on arrival and windows were open all night due to the heat wave we've been having.

The hotel was well appointed and easy to find. Staff were welcoming and friendly, the room, clean, tidy, and comfortable. I didn't want all the usual bells and whistles that some hotels give so found the Chine met my needs quite well.

There was nothing of importance not to like. One observation would be that parking is not ideal and you may have to park a little distance away but this is not a major problem.

The staff are very friendly and happy. The food in the Restaurant was excellent and quite reasonably priced. Bar & Restaurant have great views. It is walking distance to the beach. Although the hotel does have great facilities.

Rooms in the west wing are a little tired.

Lovely location, good choice of breakfast, evening meal was very good value, hotel bar & restaurant tastefully decorated and a lovely 'boutique' style to the hotel. The gardens are beautifully maintained. The swimming pool area is pleasant and the pool is clean. The staff could not have been more helpful

Unfortunately the bedroom we were given was rather shabby, there were stains on the carpet, the lampshades were damaged and our toilet had a fault which meant that it occasionally took an hour to fill up the cistern which was both noisy and not always practical. Although it in no way spoiled out stay for the money we paid for a seaview room we had I would have expected these details to have been addressed. Due to it's location I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone without a strong constitution for walking up/downhill!! It is a rather difficult walk down to the beach if you suffer with any knee, hip or back problems!

Pools, gardens, gym proximity to Boscombe beach.Lounge ambiance and lounge aircon.

Be aware that all Seaview rooms will get unbearably hot in good weather (which we all hope for and we're lucky enough to have).None of the sash windows open more than a few inches, there is no aircon. My son's North facing room was cooler.Management make no attempt to address this. I recommend they provide as standard a really large metal free standing 60w 16" fan in each sea facing room in anticipation of good weather. (A really good touch in a better organised smaller Southampton hotel... Blue Keys.. we stayed in on the same holiday turned a negative to a positive, anticipating the needs of the guests and putting themselves in their shoes)

    Very quiet rooms.

Room was quite warm (weather was very hot during our stay) but I didn't like to leave my patio door open as the balconies are connected. There was, however, a small window that could be left open safely.

I loved the location of the hotel, the gardens are stunning and the views are too. The facilities were really good as was the breakfast.

The first room we were appointed to I believe it was in the west or east wing, was a disgrace, The floor had black stains all over I didn't even want to take my shoes off. The room was so hot and stuffy and it had one window that opened about 2 inches. The room was very tired and was jus awful. I did go back to reception and complain and our room got changed to the main building with a balcony, the room was pleasant but the balcony was very tired and furniture outside was dirty. Also there was some sort of net up which at the balcony which wasn't very pleasant to look at.
