Selected for proximity to Blackheath and Greenwich Park. Very overcrowded Breakfast Room because of capacity booking for Wedding party plus coach parties from Europe resulted in long slow wait for hot food with some limited items.

I enjoyed my stay and particularly the breakfast. The only problem was that I could not get the shower to work and had to bath each day I did not like the location of the bar either, it would be great to look out the front windows at the view of the heath.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room I had was clean but rather old; creaking floor, window difficult to open and rather dark. The sheets were worn and stained, but clean. The electric kettle did not work the second time. However it was quiet and I was not disturbed at night. I find all the levels and stairs in the hotel rather annoying.

Location of the hotel was perfect. The outside of the hotel looked lovely. Rooms at the front had great views. Breakfast was delicious, great choice. Bed was very comfortable. The room was not very impressive based on how lovely the hotel looked from outside. The shower was not very good. There were no light bulbs in the bedside lamps.

To be honest, the reason that we booked The Clarendon for our stay was that it was the only hotel in the price range that we tried that wasnt fully booked. We were pleasantly surprised and will certainly try to stay here on future visits. Situated on the edge of the Heath it feels like being out in the country but with bus stops outside the front door and Blackheath Station a short walk away ( London centre less than 30 minutes) and with good eateries close by, we thought the location was ideal. Clean hotel, friendly staff and reasonably soundproofed rooms, it'll do for us. Although we had no complaint with the breakfast, we were disappointed with the quality of the dinner that we had. Dont let this put you off staying as there are some nice restaurants close by.

Clean and friendly hotel. Excellent full english breakfast complimented our two-night stay. Very limited parking facilities. Insufficient tea/coffee in the room, although no problem in getting more by asking at reception.

The hotel is in a really nice location, Blackheath is lovely, it is right on the heath and has a pretty view of the church - lots of eating places, bars and nice shops to try out. The hotel is clean and large and perfect for a short stay. The staff at check in and check out were pleasant and it was all very simple. The room was clean and comfortable. The best thing about the hotel was the location of the hotel which was totally perfect for the o2 - which is why we picked it. The bus stops are literally outside the front. Jump on the bus to the O2 (£2.30 each way without an Oyster Card and £1.35 with an Oyster) - and buses run every 10 minutes or more - I can't say enough how convenient it is and was so nice after the concert to wait and leisurely travel back to the hotel and avoid the crowds in the tube. Brilliant. Will stay here again if going to the O2 We were pleased when directed to the Heathview wing but our twin room did not have a heathview at all just a view of the roof - but it wasn't a big problem at all, we weren;t there for the view. Bathroom had no lock but that wasn't a problem with friends but probably a good idea to fit it with one.

During our stay we found the staff to be very friendly, professional, polite and very helpful. The food was of a very good standard indeed and good value for money The hotels location is excellent and I would particularly recommend the hotel to a couple who would like a relaxing break with good restaurants nearby. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others, though disabled travelers should check with hotel first. Only one key per room we stayed in a triple room so accessing our room was not as convenient as it could have been. If there was one thing you need to do it is change the orange juice used at breakfast it is bordering undrinkable and I did overhear other guests other than my party complaining.

Although most staff were still in training, they were very willing to assist and tried their best. Rooms are big enough and serviced daily. Quiet and secure location, public transport nearby. Nice restaurants just around the corner. Very nice, kind and gentle manager. Feels like a family run business. Bit old fashioned. Latest possibility to return to the hotel with public transport from the city is 19:30, so one cannot eat out in the city. Breakfast was O.K. but due to a lot of groups there was a lack of "something" every morning.

When I checked in to the hotel I was told I had been upgraded to a double room at no extra cost. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. The staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble. I intend to stay at the Clarendon Hotel in future and would recommend it.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and well serviced. The breakfasts were very nice I had a dreadful meal in the lounge even though I chose it as the last time we stayed the food there was very good. The reason given for the awful meal was lamentable, if at least honest

We needed a family room to accommodate our young children and were pleasantly suprised that it was a suite of 2 adjoining rooms. So we had the peace of mind of being together (1 door and key) but still had some privacy as parents. Thought the location, at the top of Greenwich Park was ideal. We had come to visit the Royal Observatory and Planetarium and could walk there, leaving the car at the hotel. Could well be back again!
