The Clarendon overlooks historic Blackheath and Greenwich Park for a village atmosphere close to central London. It is ideal for the O2 Arena, Canary Wharf and the Excel Exhibition Centre in Docklands. Great bars, restaurants and boutique shops surround The Clarendon Hotel, and the Old Royal Observatory and Blackheath Train Station are not far away. There is a parking lot at the front and back of the hotel, and local parking lots and on-street parking are nearby. The hotel offers the Meridian Restaurant, Nautical Chart Bar, first-rate room service and full conference and banqueting facilities. Hotel Rooms: 181

As we were travellling to the O2 we found the staff very helpful in telling us about the travel links. The receptionist ordered a Taxi for us and had a call when it arrived. She also told us about the bus and we took this after the concert. It was all very easy so an excellent hotel to stay for the O2. We will definitely use the the hotel again.Lovely comfortable room and good room service. The breakfast was excellent even though the dining room was very busy.Thankyou Clarendon. Waiting for toast a pain so we did not bother.

Helpful and courteous staff in reception Breakfast staff were a bit diaorganised and many hung around doing very little. diappeared off and had breakfast in the diningroom even though people were still eating there. heard one older member of staff complaining to another about people coming to breakfast at 9.30 when breakfast was due to finish at 9.30. this is too early anyway in the middle of the holiday season. do they not realiase there is a recession and should be doing everything to keep people happy and coming back to the hotel?

I was very impressed by the care of the staff during my stay and that includes the cleaning staff as well as management. The food was excellent and the service couldn't be faulted.

Friendliness of reception. Dated, carpet in room was poor, with patches of wet;sofa bed for two was tiny with thin matress;the smell from the 'just new bathroom' was overpoweringly of mastick, and the soap dispensers were placed so high my 7 year old daughter couldn't reach them without standing on the toilet;there was no botteld water in the room, no biscuits with the tea and coffee;breakfast was a nightmare and the waiter thought we wouldn't mind sitting at a table with filthy tablecloths only changing one when I refused to sit down until he did. I would recommend with caveats. £225 for the room is £75 too much in my opinion.

Selected for proximity to Blackheath and Greenwich Park. Very overcrowded Breakfast Room because of capacity booking for Wedding party plus coach parties from Europe resulted in long slow wait for hot food with some limited items.

The cleaningness of the room was amazing, really good, and quite quiet and warm, the breakfast was really good and copious, and Camile was really nice, as well was the bellboy. The 2 guys that are in the night, didn't had any idea of how to run the place an absolute disgrace. The hotel was in a far location and you had to take the tube and a bus to get in or out of it, and the bus in the way back to the hotel is the one that goes to Lewisham but in the reception they never tell you that and I had to take like 4 before being able to get back, the internet is good even the hotel, doesn't has anything to do with it, is totally independent. I would say that it was pretty good even this

It was in London yet felt like being in a country village. Was close to where my relatives lived & easy access to all Kent as well as city. The staff were all curteous, friendly & very helpfull. Breakfasts were great. As I was staying 2 weeks, they upgraded me to a nice double room which I liked so much I booked a further 6 days. All in all, it made my stay in the uk very comfortable & pleasureable. I will certainly stay again on any subsequent visits to uk.

It was friendly, staff wise, excellent facilities, with one exception.Situated in a pleasntly surrounded area. The internet was way to expensive,a rip off to be blunt!I found an internet lounge in Greenwich,i know hotels tend to charge more for phone calls, but this was 'steep',some of the hotels i have stayed in worldwide, provided a free internet, wifi service.

We liked the location, ie overlooking the vast greens. The restaurant food was very reasonable and very good. The staff were very helpful, and overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitetly use the Clarendon again We were visiting the 02 and there is a local bus that runs 24 hours just opposite the hotel, and takes 10-15 mins. Very convenient. We used the train from Waterloo and the station is just down the road.

the relaxed atmosphere and lovely food.It was out from the madness of inner London and the staff were very friendly. We would have liked the room to have been a bit cooler and if we stay again we would prefer a room at the back of the hotel as we found the traffic too noisy at the front

Lovely location and very handy for visiting family in Greenwich. Relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic breakfasts. Did not match up to our previous visit in June 2011. Room 122 was scruffy, in desperate need of renovation. Pillows smelt dirty, tiles over bath needed a good scrub. Had the most awful meal in the Meridian restaurant on Saturday night. The residents seemed to have taken second place to a Christmas party being held at the Clarendon. Our meal was very obviously microwaved, ready-made food, very reminiscent of school dinner. Although outside your control, some guests (probably the partygoers) were extremely noisy well into the night. A bitter disappointment after our earlier stay. We're now considering staying at the Greenwich Devere for our 3-4 visits each year. Please pass this review on to the manager of the clarendon.

Close enough to the rgo and a reasonable walk to Greenwich. We weren't happy about the queue for Sunday breakfast (at 9:30) so bought a bacon butty in the park. Perhaps Sunday breakfast could be continued past 10?

Reception staff were excellant. Restaurant staff at breakfast were good with their manager doing an excellant organisational job. The room was quite basic with a well out of date small screen cheap tv. Noise early morning by staff in rear car park and vehicle engines allowed to run for no apparent reason. Disturbed early by cleaner wishing to make up the room.

The breakfast was plentiful and the service was very good. The advise and support from the reception was very good and the access via the bus to the o2 was excellent. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, which made it very hot when showering, It didnt help that it was an extremely hot weekend too. There was frequent evidence of smoking in the corridor on the approach to the bedroom.

The weather The room was dark and dingy and overlooked what appeared to be the staff entrance and subsequently was subject to noise. As a family of four we didn't expect to have a fourth bed jammed into the room, blocking the main exit/escape route. The bathroom lacked an extractor fan - a basic addition to any modern bathroom. Breakfast was ok but we have had much better on previous trips to London. Overall, the hotel is in a beautiful location but needs bringing into the 21st century.

Thought the location was very good and easy to get to other places One of the receptionists had no idea how long it took to walk to the ferry for the river boat & guessed at 20 minutes when in fact it was 50 minutes & felt she should have known. We had difficulty finding our room as the signs on each floor gave no indication where our room number was & had to go & find someone to show us. Our room was clean but couldn't get the shower to work properly & very claustraphobic being right up the top with a tiny window & sloping roof so I would not stay again if that was the only room available. Breakfast was busy but excellent & staff extremely efficient.

Staff very friendly and helpful when we booked into the Hotel. We were going to the o2 and were told where we could catch the bus nearby. The breakfasts were excellent with a good choice and standard of food was good whether you ate early or late. The rooms were very comfortable and we were pleased that parking was available. We would like to come again.

Friendly staff, spacious and well staffed dining room Spacious and not overcrowded bar Fair amount of free parking in the Hotels own car park When we stayed at the Clarendon, there was an Olympic selection event taking place and a number of the athletes were staying at the Clarendon, unfortunately a group of them came back after midnight one evening and made a lot of noise, waking my wife and myself up from a peaceful night's sleep.

We stay there for convenience of coach going to The Boat Show. Next year we will have to look at other arrangements as price for rooms is extremely high, and can now stay nearer Excel for half the price.
