The double walk in shower was fun :)
The English Breakfast was poor. The scrambled eggs were dry, sausage cheap, bacon undercooked, tomato cold and baked beans had formed a skin!
Clean, comfortable room. Cheerful, friendly staff. The hotel has character.
Had to wait longer than expected for our evening meal due to shortage of waiters. Very happy with free bottle of wine offered as an apology.
Comfy bed and room Lovely evening meal Great location Staff are VERY friendly
The hot breakfast was not the best but OK had better and worse
Location was good lovely town, plenty of restaurant options., friendly people especially in the ironmongery! Room comfortable , good value for money.
Restaurant served great food, the room was very spacious and clean
The room was quite spacious and provided a place to work on a laptop.
The location suffered from constant traffic noise. In the room, there was a plumbing fault and insufficient light to read in bed. Security conflicts prevented use of the wifi. The evening menu prompted relief that I was only staying one night. The bar provided the usual suspects in draght beers - it was a shame that there was not a genuine pilsner beer.
Over all a pleasant stay
Staff working when they should have been off sick but not enough staff to cover.
Facilities and comfort of bedroom
Breakfast was ample but quality could with a little attention be improved - to be fair reflected in price.
The location was good !!
On arrival no record of table booking/had to walk 4flights of stairs to very small room/no shelving in bathroom for toiletries. Soup not hot. - lamb shank undercooked with water gravy/vegs did not arrive with hommity pie until asked for then parsnips hard. Understaffed.chef sent apologies!Breakfast was ok but toast took 10 mins after main. Took 20 mins for hot water to come in shower.Reception did not ask if we had enjoyed stay. Would not stay there again as felt like a nuisance!!
Excellent location for Milton Keynes and Northampton... Good sized room, Fantastic staff, pleasant and welcoming... Very accommodating to all requests .. Breakfast was made extra special by the Guy who did us Fried bread... Thanks
A cosy hotel, lovely well appointed room and decent breakfast. Good parking - will stay again if in the area
Very small room. Could not adjust water temperature in shower
My room had a window which didn't shut and the room was freezing. Service for breakfast was terrible as I was pretty much ignored for ages and I was the only person there. Breakfast was ok but again let down by poor service with bringing my toast well after I had finished the breakfast. No offer of a top up on tea either. When leaving I wasn't even asked the customary "how was your stay" and at that point I couldn't be bothered to offer any complaint.
The room was comfy and the ensuite clean and modern
We asked to book a table for dinner as soon as we arrived mid afternoon but were told we could not dine that evening as they had a lot of Christmas parties. They actually did us a good turn as just up the road we had an excellent meal in a local bistro
Breakfast had lots to choose from
Mould on the net curtains Bathroom window dirty
Reception staff very friendly, helpful and professional
Terrible experience in the restaurant, sent back 3 meals not properly heated through gave up in the end as my wife had finished hers, spoilt our evening, extremely disappointing. Radiator in our room needs attention, very noisy throughout the night
Breakfast was fantastic
We had mold growing on the bathroom ceiling, and walls
Location, food & drink
Access to room with baggage was difficult.
noise, damp smell in room really bad.
I booked online but when I rang to ask if we could bring our dog they were at pains to ensure we got the same standard room as the one we booked. It was a generous sized room and very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Nothing I can think of.
The free beer and wine that they didn't charge us for!!!
Over cooked poached eggs with a raw centre. The White crusty bloomer loaf was actually just normal white bread.
Location, quiet room My partner enjoyed the 'ulll English'.
Under staffed. Their stress impinged on us. Porridge was not nice, no croissant. Bananas and apples old and bruised. Eggs Benedict was egg on ham on toast with tasteless Hollandaise.
We got locked out twice. The bar was right next to our room and we could hear the loud misic and drunk people yelling till very late.
Went with a group of friends for the Christmas party. Food was delicious and arrived hot. Staff worked hard and the disco had everyone up dancing.
Not enough staff generally for a Christmas weekend especially on the main bar and at breakfast. Had to wait about 40 mins to be served breakfast. Again breakfast staff were working incredibly hard just not enough of them.
The bed Location.
The party all night. The smell of shit in the bathroom. (shower) The breakfast, 10 am.the sausage and bacon must have been cooked since the kitchin opened at 7am.
