Very warm welcome. Great accommodation and the traditional pub atmosphere downstairs was excellent. Very generous breakfast and super value all round.
no cooked breakfast
Staff were amazing. I ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious and so reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the whole place was warm and friendly. The room was clean warm and cosy. I got a taxi to the airport in the early hours (which the bartender kindly organised) this cost £24. If I use stansted again I would definitely book with the Cock Inn!!!
Helpful and interested staff and that is all staff, family atmosphere. Bedroom and bathroom both perfectly adequate and price reasonable for area. No nonsense food.
Room decoration slightly tired, but hey this hotel is value not boutique
Restaurant was very good.
WiFi hit or miss, location too remote.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Easy parking next to rooms and English breakfast at no extra cost.
Bed was very noisy when you moved,May be it needed to be tighted up
Nice size room, lovely & warm, even in the morning. Comfy bed, a good breakfast, fantastic value for money.
Pillows are a bit flat, & TV could do with being a bit larger.
Excellent value. Pleasant, helpful people. Very nice home cooked food. A proper unpretentious country inn.
The staff are very friendly. the food was excellent
Free parking, staff are friendly.
Food was not great.
Refreshing genuine family run business with excellent staff, a hearty breakfast & a large, comfortable, quiet room. The old pub was fantastic and being separate from the rooms meant no noise or pubby smell. A little gem!!
Wi-fi not perfect
It's quiet and affordable for business and perhaps budget travelers for one night or two.
It's in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn't have booked it if I had known there's no public transportation to the hotel.
Safe parking, proximity to the airport (we had an early morning flight and it took us about 20 mins from hotel to the terminal). Room is quite spacious, there are tea facilities in the room.
Everything rather basic.
Very friendly staff, great food, a very nice pub and excellent value for money. Had a good night sleep. Would deffinately stay here again (and likely will when visiting the area).
Couldnt get TV to work, but wasnt too bothered otherwise I would have spoken to owner
in one word EVERYTHING
THAT WE HAD TO LEAVE
Having travelled through France from Spain so nice to have a wonderful breakfast and included in price. Great value for money.
bedroom large and spacious, clean and tidy. Food good quality and good portions. People have complained about road noise, however to be fair you are not far from the M11 and Stanstead airport, but I found it fine and we were on the front.
pillows far to soft. Breakfast I could not have a poached egg only fried or scrambled. And breakfast was served to me while I was still eating cereal.
Everything was fine. Hook up to internet so simple!
Everything - staff, food, service and room
The accommodation is in a purpose built block attached to the pub, as good as any country house hotel with similar modern additions. Three real ales on offer, popular with the locals, reasonable food selection and breakfast beautifully cooked. Lovely picturesque village 3 Miles east with cricket on the green / Heath , two pubs (the Thatchers) and a restaurant well worth a visit.
Supermarket shower gel only in bathroom, no soap. Poor quality ingredients, chicken, steak pie, cornflakes, sausages and condiments. Poorly kept beers, tried all three but couldn't find a pleasant one. A tiny improvement here would make it excellent.
