Great "proper" pub in pleasant village. The quality of the restaurant food was excellent, and the staff were also first class. Did not have time for the full English breakfast !!!

The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast and the evening meal we enjoyed there was very good indeed. The actual pub was lovely, however, the room was a disapointment - very tired and basic. The old fashioned and very small tv was temperamental and the reception and range of channels very limited - we gave up on it! Only one bin that had to be shared between bathroom and living area - mindful that ladies were encouraged to use it for disposal! Sheets had holes in...

As a business traveller only staying one night you need a clean, quiet comfortable room with good food and a friendly bar available. The cock met all of the above and I slept really well and awoke to a nice hot bath and a fabulous breakfast. The owner and all his staff were very friendly and offered great service.

Really good value for money. We needed accommodation in the area for one night and The Cock Inn was a good choice. Staff are friendly, the room was clean and more than suitable, plenty of parking, quiet location and the inn was olde worlde and pleasant for a drink or two in the evening. Breakfast the next morning was good. Location is close to Stansted airport and I would definitely use their airport park/accommodation/transfer package if I were to fly from Stansted.

Clean basic room, has Tv with good channels for lone business man, tea and coffee. Its attached to a pub with good choice beer and food. Staff are very good, I met two staff during my stay and the youn man in evening very proffesional and friendly, lady in morning the same. Breakfast was good. I had a downstairs room, word of warning - room 3 has very poor mobile signal on both Vodaphone and Three, however the hotel cannot control this and its not a criticms. Would I stay again, most probable my only concern was lack of phone signal. Clean friendly and good value -

Friendly and welcoming family-run pub in attractive village. We were going to a funeral in Harlow, and phoned beforehand to arrange an early check-in. This was no problem, and meant we were able to unpack and sort ourselves out before the event. We had a very good dinner outside in the garden. Being vegetarians, we don't often fare too well with pub grub, but we had a really well prepared mushroom omelette with chips and salad. Breakfast likewise was very good, and we would be happy to recommend The Cock in Sheering. Minor point but the tv in the room was very small.
