Good location for what I required. Room was cold, I had to go to the bar to get warm. The food was so-so, with a little care it could have been improved a lot. Lambs liver was cooked to death and the 'gravy' was a strange brown/yellow colour with the texture of frogspawn. The 'creamed' potatoes had seen no cream. First course of deep fried brie was OK.

There was a mix up with my booking via the internet in that I ended up with the double room and not the family room but when I rang the hotel they were very accommodating and ensured me that it wasn't a problem and they rang me back to confirm I had the room that I wanted. Check in was quick and easy and the staff very pleasant and accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean and very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. I thoroughly recommend this hotel. We were a family of 4 attending a wedding locally.

Excellent value for money, considering the proximity of Stansted Aiprport and that it includes free Wi Fi and full cooked breakfast. Good Breakfast, friendly staff, quiet location, good sized, comfortable rooms...with Bath and shower (as opposed to just a shower). I would definitely stay here again.

The Cock Inn was very quiet despite it being attached to a public house. Ample parking for guests. Close, but not too close, to motorway. Staff were very welcoming and attentive during our stay. If you stay on a Sunday evening, you do not get a cooked breakfast on Monday morning, which is continental and left outside your room. Tv in room only has standard five terrestrial channels (not even Freeview!).

“We received a warm welcome from Melvyn and Cindy. The accommodation was first class, everything was to the highest standard, very clean, attention to detail to make you feel comfortable and rooms were luxurious. The bed was so comfortable, towels were thick and smelt great. Lighting was wonderful, you could have romantic lighting or full on to do make up etc. The dining area was out of this world, everything that you need to make various coffee's, teas were available for everyone to help themselves and you can also help yourself to breakfast 24/7 all inclusive of the price. Melvyn and Cindy also gave us fantastic suggestions about where to eat and they were 100% spot on. It felt like nothing was too much for them and they wanted our stay to be a very happy one. There are also Morgan cars for you to look at and hire. We cannot recommend this B&B enough, we have stayed in many places throughout the UK but this is number 1.
