Good Spa, Good Breakfast. Nice to have Balcony to air the room! Disabled facilities in the room-on the 3rd floor? Ok in their own right, but made everything tight for space in the Bathroom. The Staff were attentive, but not friendly really.

Staff were attentive welcoming and professional It was necessary to complain about an extremely small ensuite which really was a cupboard in the wall, but when we raised this with the Duty Mananger he was attentive and accommodating and we were moved that day. Also the first night we had a sleepless night due to neighbourly activity throughout the whole night-when we raised this point there had been other compliants as well about this: our move was swift and painless, the second night was considrerably better.

The whole experience from arrival to departure was a pleasure. All staff were efficient and professional, flexible and friendly. Service was quick, always readily on hand without hovering. Food and presentation were excellent from fine dining in the restaurant (though the men in the party needed to top up with french fries, which were readily and cheerfully supplied!) to hot, freshly prepared classic English breakfast, to freshly made sandwiches and chips from the bar. For a group party the sun terrace and large lounge areas with comfortable seating were a real bonus. Rooms were not large but well designed and equipped including useful fixed soap dispensers by basin and in the shower.

The service was of a high standard and the staff very helpful & friendly. The rooms were clean, well maintained and quite relaxing (mine had a balcony). I really enjoyed the spa facilities which were located at the bottom of a spiral staircase. Dinner was amazing....a bit expensive but well worth the treat. I went to Bournemouth to see an Osmond concert at the BIC with friends, but I decided to stay an extra night on my own to relax and make use of the spa during the bank holiday. I could've happily stayed for longer! The hotel is quite compact, so not overly sound-proofed. The extractor fans in the bathrooms are fairly loud which woke me up - but I didn't want to sleep in anyway!

This hotel is in a great location and is very good value for money. Within a few minutes walk you are at the beach or in the midst of loads of pubs and restaurants. The main shopping area is also close. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The only criticism I would have is that rooms are a bit on the small side for a 3 star hotel and many of then do not have baths. Overall though I would highly recommend this hotel

The Hotel certainly lived up to its 3 Star rating, it provided us with an enjoyable experience during our 3 night stay. Friendly, smartly dressed and accommodating staff were on hand at all times, check in/out was hassle free. Free on site parking is always a bonus. The food in Blake's is superb as is the bar menu and the breakfast certainly sets one up for the day. The Spa boasts the best indoor pool in the area (confirmed by local users) and located within reasonable distance are shops restaurants and the seafront. The room was comfortable and kept spotlessly clean and the bathroom had all the necessary toiletries. Would revisit anytime. It would be hard to find anything to criticise about our stay.

Ideal situation for our trip. Very friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely everything you could want and bar snacks throughout the day were very nice. Would visit this hotel again and also recommend to others. We found the bed to be a little uncomfortable i think a new mattress was needed as you rolled in the middle. We had one main meal during our stay in the hotel which we found a let down it wasnt cheap and i think there could have been more choice on the menu. My lamb wasnt what i was expecting and under cooked!!

“This was our first trip to The Cumberland Hotel. What a delight! The Hotel is decorated In Art Deco style in vibrant Red, Black,Silver and Glass...STUNNING!! They have soft music in the background that relate to the time of day, very nicely slotting in to the mood changes as the day moves to night..Clever - rather than the usual "elevator" style that a lot of Hotel tend to have. Our welcome first kicked in when we checked in at Reception. The Receptionist was lovely, very friendly and helpful. We had only booked for one night but was able to stay on for another night with no problem at all. We were early so she took our bags from us and we were able to explore the Hotel. We had a sandwich and drink by the pool which was brilliant! The pool was inviting and the set up outside with the seating and tables was really nice. Everywhere we walked, the staff looked up and smiled, genuine welcome smiles not the plastic aloof smiles that are in so many Hotels these days! We ate in the Hotel on both our evenings. The Brasserie Grill one night and the Mirabelle Restaurant the other. The meals that the Chef cooked were delicious. Presentation and taste sublime! Service was superb in both places. Our room was spotless and very comfortable with the only downside being that we are used to a King size bed so the Double for us was small! Next time we are going for the Sea View with Balcony with the Kingsize bed! Breakfast was delicious with the usual Buffet Style on offer. If you wanted Kippers or something that was not the usual Full English, you only had to ask! I was a bit disappointed in the selection of fruit on offer. The choice of Prunes, Grapefruit and Melon is a tad outdated. Lots of places that we have stayed have a larger variety on offer ie: Kiwi Fruit/ Melon Selection/ Bananas/ Grapes etc with more of a choice in Yoghurts too. There was bowl of fruit available. We are definitely going back to this Hotel, we cannot praise it enough!!” Gerald, Yateley |
