Best Western The Connaught Hotel    

The staff were superb.

The rooms were small for more than 2 nights. Noise insulation was poor. I would recommend to business men but not to holiday makers. They were obviously very successful for celebrations etc.

The receptionist was very nice and gave us a map on the area great customer service

The man behind the breakfast buffet was not very friendly and it would have been nice to help yourself to breakfast and not be served

Don't like hot food buffet breakfasts but understand the economics

Restaurant was super and the Matre'd wonderful. All staff were friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. They took particular trouble as my husband is disabled and they ensured he was comfortable.

The toilet in our en suite was far too close to the wall and sink and almost impossible to use.

Brilliant location, near town centre for lots of shops and also within walking distance to the beachside and pier, great food - breakfast was fab, lovely staff, nice room. Overall v happy for a lovely break for my husbands birthday. Also lovely having complimentary use of spa facilities.

The Hotel was run like a well oiled machine-superb. Friendly staff, comfortable bed and good food.

Staff all very polite and friendly. Nice central area, hill a bit steep though!!! Food good lots of choice at breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay. Friend used the pool, jacuzzi and steam room and was very impressed with the facilities. Would definitely visit again.

Female receptionist - very abrupt and unfriendly on our arrival. I telephoned the Spa 3 days before arriving to book Spa treatments for my partner, no answer but left a message including my 2 contact numbers requesting that they call back, but no one did, so no treatments booked. Only 1 pillow each in double room. Private parties having a function which is fine but music banging until 01:30 which is poor, guests should have been informed that this would be happening. Also the music volume was increased at midnight, which was unfair to other guests who were staying at the hotel. Informed by staff that the hotel is hoping to be recognized in the near future as a 4 * hotel. That is very good for the hotel im sure, but if it loses its friendly reputation (which I think is on the way out already) then it will loose business from regular clients. You can have all the decor and fixtures & fittings in the world, but if you have no personality, then you have and will gain nothing.

We arrived early(1 hour) before checkin, so we had lucnh whilst we waited, very plentiful and good value or money, breakfast was beautiful too, nicely presented and plentiful. Definately stay again & would recommend to friends & colleagues.

The rooms, (despite no heating) were very hot during the nighttime, my mother stayed in a single room, (34)and the bed was pushed right up against the wall, she couldn't move the bed out, & consequently, couldn't shut the curtains either.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The food was lovely and it had a pleasent atmosphere. Short walk to the beach

The food took a long time to arrive and people who ordered after we had managed to get their food and leave! We ordered pasta and a sandwich. It didnt spoil it though, because when it arrived it was lovely.

Bit of a hill to walk up from the town centre & beach, which could cause a few problems for those with mobility issues.

Bed comfortable, but pillows not. Restaurant staff at breakfast very friendly and efficient.

Reception staff unfriendly and intransigent. Arrived at lunchtime, but refused access to room until 3 pm notwithstanding 11 am checkouts. When we asked if the restaurant was open for lunch, were quite abruptly told that lunch was not available except in the bar or in restaurants in the town,

This is a well run and friendly hotel. The staff were friendly and wanted to help. Ideal place to stay for the Bournemouth International Centre. The breakfast was excellent, a great choice! We will use the hotel again.

A pocket size twin room and en suite, would make sure we asked for a bigger room if we ever came back
