The hotel is next door to a railway station with an infrequent service from London to Hastings - heard a train go past just once over the weekend. On the other side of the hotel is the beach - typical for the area, but lots of it. Staff are pleasant and professional, food abundant and varied. Our room was comfortable, clean and tidy.

At the time we were there, it was quiet, which is just what I was looking for as I was there for a short period of convalescence after an operation. The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

I was extremely impressed with our room, very spacious and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a very high standard and the evening meal just as good, and very good value. All in all a very pleasant stay which I hope to repeat in the future.

We have sent a letter of thanks and appreciation re the above but will just add a few words. We were so impressed with the staff who were so attentive and polite at all times. We were very happy with our room which was so comfortable and very good value. There is nothing we did not like about our stay and we look forward to coming again in the not too distant future. Also we have recommended to our friends.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool, steam room, sauna etc were excellent. The food was nice and reasonably priced. The hotel is situated right on the beach so had wonderful views from our window. On arrival and entering our room the carpets were soaking wet. The Manager came to our room and said the carpets had just been cleaned and would dry soon. He offered a room change or to leave the hotel with no charge in a rude manner. Not what I would expect from the manager. If we had been told on arrival and asked to have a drink whilst waiting for the carpets to dry, that would have been fine.

The staff were obliging and friendly, especially reception and dining room. Breakfast was good. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Very quiet, even a wedding reception didn't disturb us. Handy for the station. Also enjoyed the swimming pool. Disappointing that there was no in-room safe.

Location - near to Pevensey Bay Our room was no. 126 - this was ok except for the fact that a rather noisy air blower fixed to the outside flat roof kept us awake at night unless we shut the window, but as it was rather hot last weekend that was not really acceptable! Also the hotel does not have any lifts to the upstairs floors??

Leisure facilities on a very wet and windy couple of days. Breakfast food and service excellent. Have used restaurant as non-resident on other occassions when food and service were excellent too. Unfortunately our stay was ruined by an extremely noisy central heating system (room 121) which banged and clattered waking my wife and self serveral times in the night. The only, partial, solution was to have the heating on full and open the window wide. This was most unsatisfactory. Also in the morning we were disturbed by a machine in what I imagine was the kitchen below. I complained to the receptionist who was sympathetic but who offered no recompense. I would not consider using the Cooden Beach Hotel again, or recommending it, unless you could guarentee that problems like the ones we suffered would not recur.

I did not like the fact that I ordered calves liver for my main course at dinner but was served with lambs liver which I view as a much inferior and cheaper product. Had the menu honestly stated what the liver was I would not have ordered it

Good hotel, good food and nice setting. Main reason for using this hotel is for Business but I like to use pool and gym which was closed, there was nothing telling me this when I booked the hotel.

We were in Bexhill for a family funeral. As the funeral tea was to be at Cooden Beach it seemed a good idea to book our stay there as well. We were delighted with the care and attention we were given at the funeral tea and were not at all disappointed with the hotel. Our only critisism is that we were disappointed with our dinnerl on the Friday night(we went to the Italian on Saturday). I found the menu a bit uninspired and the food a little "standard" but the dining room was very pleasant and the staff were lovely so this did not blight our stay! The room was lovely with its little balcony and it was so nice to stay in a hotel with a choice of places to sit and read or have a drink etc. We loved it - so great being right on the beach and by the station - perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay. The Blackmores

Location. Good staff service. Clean. Efficient. No lift. Many steps in corridors so not at all suitable for disabled/infirm. Overpriced for what you get, probably as there is no real competition in the area. No internet access.

It was very clean and the staff were polite but not friendly, but you tend to find that with Hotels that are not family run, our room was very noisy, but the bed was very comfortable so we slept ok anyway, the breakfast was fantastic, and overall our stay was very good and well-priced, I wish we had asked to change rooms, as our was on a very busy main road and next to the train station.

Nice size hotel with decent size rooms and communal areas. Service in the bar area not the quickest in the world but suited us on this occasion but would have grated if I went there on a social event.

It is very convenient to have a railway station right outside and to be so near the beach. We have always been given rooms at the back and a sea view room would have been nice. The food is not all that brilliant and we usually eat out.
