We came to Cooden Beach hotel for our close friends Ruby Wedding celebration which was a perfect excuse to have a two night break together and relax before the family celebration on Sunday. Our room was a family room and very comfortable for two of us - lovely and warm when the temperature suddenly dropped. The service in the restaurant was exceptional, for all meals and the food was extremely well cooked and presented. Thank you.
Our shower dripped 24/7! The WiFi is sooo slow, please try to fix this as some guests will rely on the connection dueing their stay.
Excellent location. Breakfast was good with friendly service.
Bathroom/ toilet was wet room style no bath and water on floor did not drain away quickly. Designed for disabled use. In the end mopped up with towels so I could use loo after husbands shower without getting my feet wet. Stain on outer bed linen.
The location is fantastic, unfortunately I was on a business trip not a holiday.
Staff were very helpful and courteous
Restaurant only offered set Christmas menu. Fortunately, there is a bar with an alternative menu which was acceptable.
Very comfortable, very dog-friendly & very courteous staff. Excellent location next to the beach & sea views. We would highly recommend this hotel to all.
Right on the beach. Nice restaurants and bars. Good food, particularly breakfast. Cosy atmosphere. Excellent swimming pool and gym.
I like the location by the train station and the beach. The place is not for fantastic view or any other but pleasant and nice and can escape from busy city life. And pets are welcome is one of the reason I use. Generally very good.
A young staff was not very friendly but sounded uninterested in customers. I wanted to use their swimming pool and sauna and needed to buy bathing suit. She told me I could get in Little Common. I took taxi next morning but there was no such shops. Nobody knew. I had to take three an hour to find a costume after all. Because of winter normal shop in Bexhill do not store swimming costumes and I had to go to a swimming pool on foot from the centre of Bexhill. More proper information would be appreciated. My old arthritis dog and I were totally exhausted. Never mind!!!!
excelent food in the tavern, staff so helpfull, location is great just by railway station
pool rather shallow, be aware of wedding events, funeral do, these result in size of tavern (tables available being reduced)
very helpful staff. comfortable rooms ideal for a weekiend stay visiting relatives
Location and atmoshere of beach front hotel is excellent - very friendly and helpful staff
Breakfast was ok and reception staff were helpful
Bathroom floor not adequately sloped to drain water from shower. Inadequate heating in bathroom prevented wet floor from drying after a shower. Door frame in bathroom rotten and filled with filler. Stains on underside of bed comforter. Chambermaid began stripping and cleaning room before we checked out. Allocated room was in a separate block away from main hotel with no covered walkway to building. Not good in heavy rain.
Room was clean. Breakfast was very nice.
No bottled water supplied, no hairdryer provided, bathroom very poor, no free wi-fi access, T.V. too small would need 20/20 vision!Having paid £160 for room would have expected better. Would expect to pay £80 for what was provided.
a very pleasant stay well stocked bathroom with quality toiletries
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable bed, good shower, fabulous cooked to order breakfast & great location.
Our room was at back of hotel , it was very noisy and no view which was disappointing , I think these rooms should be classed a lot cheaper .
The excessive heat of the room. Heating off, windows open - impossibly hot in October
pleasant location, public spaces comfortable, staff quite helpful, beds comfortable
our room (no.123) was hot and stuffy even with all radiators switched off and windows open expensive food: i.e. minimum charge in restaurant £17 for main course, and tavern bar menu very limited and also pricey (£12.50 for basic fish and chips)
Bed and room comfortable.
Room was a bit dated needs a modern look.
We stayed at Cooden Beach Hotel while visiting Bexhill with family from Canada. The position is excellent being virtually on the beach. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful especially the waiting staff in the bar. We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was excellent. Breakfast was enormous and very very good. There is also a good car park.
Breakfast good selection and well cooked
Room a bit small
My Husband and I stayed for the night. Our Seaview room was lovely, the facilities in the hotel were nice. We ate in the Beachside Restaurant which was lovely and the food was delicious and very reasonable .
The heat in the hotel, we stayed in October and the hotel itself was very warm which was not very nice when we were eating.
Right on the beach, spotlessly clean, cosy room, Elemis toiletries, helpful staff, massive breakfast, easy parking. ..
good location value for money excellent night porter
very hot very noisy pipes for heating bar snacks overpriced
A very comfortable hotel with excellent food prepared in the restaurant. Congratulations to the Chef who would put some of the five star hotels to shame.
Unfortunately some of the restaurant/bar staff needed to be a little more attentive and customer friendly.
Room View Comfy mattress Lovely staff Breakfast Dinner - steak delicious
Nothing - it was wonderful
