An air conditioner was out of work altough I had claimed about it everyday.

The good atmosphere
No bathtub The cleaning of the carpet was not going to cut it.
The location is very nice in the WestEnd, close to underground stations, pubs, restaurants and shopping. The style is romantic English and happy hour is a free glass of Prosecco
The hotel does not have a breakfast room. You can have it either in your room or in the lobby. The rooms are rather small.
The foyer, staircases, lighting, some of the staff were extremly helpful especially Antonio, and he gave us another room.
The cleanliness was awful, some of the staff were quite unpleasant and even rude,the hotel was really quite shabby very dissapointed as we had been looking forward to it for so long, overall very unhappy.

No attempt made to help us with our bags. Decor is tired and the room had a musty smell. We thought it very poor value for money.

when we arrived the man at the desk was on the phone and kept us waiting some while. then when we were trying to check in, he took another customer call and again we had to wait. the breakfast menu says if you want breakfast before 7am to call the front desk, but when i called they just said "no one gets in till 7am but we'll do our best". customer service wasnt the best.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and I loved being able to eat it on the terrace. It felt like coming home in the evening after a busy day 's sightseeing.

Could do with more plugs in the room! Some of the furniture looks dated and could do with replacing (bedside tables, TV unit etc).

Could not get BBC TV. Took 2 days to resolve and to resolve had to change rooms! This is a problem with TV tuning system in all rooms and needs upgraded. The wifi is terrible. Needs upgraded to match high hotel standards.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the complimentary drinks early evening was a nice touch even though we did not have time to enjoy due to busy schedule, will definitely return.staff very professional.

Due to a Transaction error, my reservation for 5 days was done twice, so by the time I arrived, I had 2 rooms and my credit card was charged 2 times. I lost a whole day trying to work it out with the Hotel, but despite my reasonable explanations, they refused to offer a solution. On the next days I realized my " second charged " room was already taken by new guests. What a great business for the Hotel. I strongly believe they have fooled me with USD 1.500. I haven't been able to get that money back, not even partially. Very disappointing Customers Services, absolutely NOT recommended.
The Cranley is in a great area. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet at night. The bathroom was modern. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the complimentary happy hour was a fun time to meet other guests. The "Devonshire Tea" was a delicious and fun habit we got into each afternoon.
A couple of the chairs in our room were starting to look a bit shabby. Judging by the rest of the hotel, I'm sure they are scheduled to be recovered soon.

Felt like I got ripped off on breakfast. Paid online then charged me again at hotel. Said I booked continental . Charged me for 4 breakfast instead of 2. Poor end to a great stay.

That the hotel added a £30 surcharge for necessary room upgrade for a room to accommodate an extra bed. Booking.com took the booking and made no mention that the room was not suitable, and if it had been unsuitable Booking.com should not have made the booking.
