Located in the picturesque hamlet of Greta Bridge, this traditional and peaceful 4-star AA hotel is in a beautiful location close to the Tees Valley and Yorkshire Dales.
Score from 146 reviews Very good
The location was right for us as we only needed to be in the area for one night. The restaurant was well appointed and staff attentive and the breakfast was very good -- all that we needed.
The bedroom was a good size and had a pleasant outlook but along with the majority of public areas could have done with attention to house-keeping.
Breakfast was great, room was lovely comfy mattress. Good staff who were very apologetic as we had no towels but brought them up straight the way. Lovely steak too and a very comfortable night.
Room smelt like bleach when walking in as the bathroom had not been finished cleaning however the staff were very apologetic and sorted this out straight the way.
staff were great rooms were very spacious and clean food was excellent
all I can put here is the shower had little pressure in room 11 ( my first visit room )
The location was picturesque. The rooms very spacious and clean. The staff were courteous and efficient. The food was good and tasty.
Can't think of anything to complain about
almost everything is value for money The duty manageress was excellent and very helpful
food plain and boring
When I booked, I had a special request re early access to the room. I had a swift and positive response from reception and they made sure everything worked out for us. The hotel is brilliantly positioned, full of character and we had a spacious room with everything we could need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, apart from the self-service tea-making arrangement.
The plumbing in our bathroom was rather antiquated and the shower made a terrible noise.
Friendly staff - large rooms.
Room was red hot due to a power failure which led to boiler resetting. Rooms are nice but very much country hotel style could maybe do with making them more trendy as they had a load of potential with there size.
there was a problem with the hot water but we were compensated for the inconvienience
Friendly staff in all areas helpful with information about the local area. Large room with a beautiful onsuite. Good food at a reasonable price. Staying for the racing at croft which was less than 10 miutes away in the car
Nice riverside location Sizeable room and bed Large bath Comfortable bed and linen Good food, but a bit pricey Real ale in the bar Decent WiFi in public areas Friendly staff
Constant droning noise from extraction system for the coffee shop below continued through the night, despite raising it with the staff who said it would stop at 6pm. WiFi could be better in the bedroom, signal was a bit weak though it worked, just slowly. Bedroom was a bit chilly, though it was a rather cool overcast day, even though it was mid August!
The hotel was spacious, parking was good. Food and drinks well priced, food well cooked and served Breakfast a bit disappointing, no fresh fruit or yoghurt selection Freshly cooked breakfast was good
Small bathroom a bit outdated. Would have preferred a pot of tea or coffee rather than self service from an urn.
a very commercial solution in order to compensate the mistake about the room
I asked for a quiet room but ot a room at the busy streetside
Good location. Comfortable bed. Excellent staff. Good value booking through booking.com. Will stay again
Very nice hotel and lovely staff. Food was great but I would not have paid the full amount for bed and breakfast. We got a reduced rate on booking.com.
The bathroom fittings were clean but the floor covering looked very dusty and grubby around the edges and let it down. Just attention to detail needed
Large spacious bedroom and bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Modern dining and bar area. Lovely location adjacent to river and old church.
Only complaint is that the batter was overdone on our fish.
Very nice place
Staff trying to charge me twice for food as person I paid didn't write it down.
Breakfast was good, general communal areas of hotel were excellent.
Springs in the bed, room also tired decor.
Breaskfast was decent
The room was a bit old fashioned and small
very close to a rather expensive hotel that we were at for a wedding, so made a very good cheaper alternative, staff very polite and helpful.
Friendly helpful staff. Clean good linen. One of the best breakfasts ever
Attentiveness and friendliness of staff Food
Vile disgustingly dirty bathroom and bedroom
staff friendly, room excellent, breakfast excellent
noisy traffic outside my window kept me awake most of the night, we were in a room that overlooked the main road.
The Staff were very helpful and caring, the hotel may be old but the facilities are good, food is lovely
