Ideally located for the sights & shopping. Spacious hotel with plenty of character. Car parking was a definite challenge. If you get a space at the hotel hang on to it!

Room was comfortable The cooked breakfast was dreadful - compared to Hob Green near Markington, Black Swan at Helmsley and Crathorne Hall near Yarm. We were glad we didn't use the restaurant for evening dinner. Parking options were poor and staff didn't really help suggest anything.

The Hotel was in an ideal location for the exhibition centre. Shops, lots of restaurants and the famous Betys tea room all in easy walking distance. The extensive buffet breakfast was the best part of the stay.

The location, staff and buffet breakfast. The rooms could have been better equipped, there was only one bedside shelf. Extra lighting in the bedroom would have been appreciated.

breakfast was the best ever great location prestigious building staff courteous and helpful value for money comfortable public rooms The fact that late at night and early morning there is rowdyism in the streets around, for example revellers, drunks shouting, some as they exit Witherspoons. The sound insulation in the bedrooms is not able to counter this noise and sleep disturbance a nuisance.

Very average hotel. Over priced. Damp smelly rooms. 15 minutes for hot water to warm up in shower. Creaky floor boards kept me a wake all night.

It's location and proximity to the exhibition centre was the major plus point. The reception area was manned by only one person who took a phone call in the middle of checking me in. This lasted 10 minutes and a queue was building behind me. There was no need for this, and clearly the hotel was full as i'd be charged 150pounds for the night. No wifi in rooms, or plug point within 10 feet of the desk. I'd expect more for the room rate.

This hotel is one of the oldest traditional hotels in Harrogate. Despite its age it has continued to evolve with the times. The location and setting is perfect being in one of the oldest and most pitcuresque parts of the town. The rooms and facilities are first class and the buffet breakfast was excellent. we would certainly stay in this hotel again. Parking is a bit limited in the hotel grounds but the complementary on street parking permit worked very well.

Beautiful hotel, very traditional. Central to shops and parks, great breakfast and comfortable room-although finding a parking space was a challenge so get there early! Nothing to complain about - very nice and would recommend.

The Hotel is very well presented and looks very grand. It is very centrally located and there is good value for money. Excellent foood. There was a very strong drain smell in the bathroom. The bar staff in the bar at night were very rude. We and others did not have our room cards only our cards for opening the door. It was not explained to us when we checked in that these cards were needed if we were having a drink in the bar after 11.30. I did feed this back to the staff on checking out.

Me and my mum went to see alfie bou at the confrence center as well as a shopping trip. We found the hotel was in a excellant location that we could just park up and leave the car for the weekend, everything in walking distance, the hotel itsself was wonderfull the staff friendly, lovely and clean, felt very welcoming I would love to take my husband there for a short break. Car park was a little too small for the size hotel aspecially when there holding big events like the bridal fair that was on when we was there.

Beautiful building. Lovely rooms - comfortable. Good deal when booking on-line. Breakfast wonderful! Hairdryer in rooms could be better. On-line booking confusing - my husband thought he had already paid for the room, or a least a deposit, when card details taken but I had to pay in full on arrival.
