A 16th century coaching inn in the heart of Woodbridge, the Bull Hotel overlooks the Tudor Shire Hall and Market Hill. It offers spacious rooms, some with four-poster beds.
Score from 189 reviews Good
nice sized rooms, quirky details, friendly staff & good food too. Plus log fires.
Excellent food and service. The bed was magic!
The room was rather cold
Can't fault it.
Friendliness and helpfulness of owners and staff. Quality of room and food.
The Crown is a lovely old inn with many of it's old features retained. There are a few quirky additions to look out for. The staff are very welcoming and the food is good with a fair choice of wine. The situation, right in the centre of the small town is convenient for having stroll around and maybe taking a look at the castle. It is also a good base for exploring nearby towns in the area such as Aldeburgh, Southwold, Woodbridge and Snape.
Good food. Interesting menu. Helpfulness of staff, nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable bed.
We had stayed here in the summer for several days and much enjoyed it. We returned overnight 28-29/12/2014 prior to attending a funeral locally and again found it convenient and comfortable, with exceptionally friendly and helpful young staff. Free parking is limited but a great bonus
Summer duvets not really adequate in December and supplementary blankets, though provided on request, were poor quality. Breakfast choice of eggs benedict were served on cold plates, and although we were given fresh ones, plates were still cold, and thus food also! Management gave a discount and promised to warm plates in future!
The Hotel is perfectly located in the middle of the City. The staff is extremly friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice decorated. The food - as well for dinner as for breakfast - is just delicious!
The beds could be more comfortable
Room a good size, coffee machine, water bottles
Poor soundproofing, wobbly mattress, shower curtain
Character Interesting building Lots to see Picturesque area Good shops
Location Decoration Historic building Nice big room Large bed
Very limited breakfast - no fruit, fruit salad Unfortunately, a noisy room. Delivery vans arriving early woke me up
Style of hotel and friendly staff , easy parking for our vehicle and trailer . Lovely room with excellent en-suite and drenching shower.
Overhead spot lights a bit bright- dimmer would be nice.
Location , atmosphere, staff helpfulness
Thin walls, limited dinner menu
First time visit. Rooms are very good and spacious. Food is worthy of a AA Rosette. Staff (in particular Annalise) is brilliant and very friendly. Location is very good, in a little town, a bit off the beaten track. Will definately be back again. If only every town or village would have a Hotel restaurant like this.Well Done!
Only stayed 1 night. Should have stayed longer...
Welcoming lobby/lounge, wood fires burning, helpful pleasant staff, nice breakfast.
I couldn't stay longer, but I will be back next year.
The easiness of the hotel. It did not affect me but stairs could be a bit of a problem. Staff great in all ways. would recommend well for a weekend in sugolk. lots to see
A very warm and comfortable hotel , even the coffee was nice in the room !
I liked the style. It was friendly and comfortable.
Having to park my car next door. Just as well it didn't rain!
Beautiful building in quaint market town square location. Cosy open fires in bar/entrance areas. Coffee machines in rooms, comfortable beds, good shower
Room was overlooking car park and noisy road. Heating issues in room ( although this was explained to me when I was taken to room) Not enough veggie options on the restaurant menu although the food I did have was delish as was the breakfast
Bed was good
Building dark and dingy.
We generally avoid pub/hotels as the rooms are often secondary to the bar and food. This however was an exception. The room was large and clean and the service excellent. The hotel was full of old world character. The breakfast was one of the best we have had for a long time. We had an evening meal which was very good indeed.
A pleasure to stay in a traditional British hotel in stunning Suffolk town with its iconic castle. Friendly service and great cuisine. The en-suite bedroom was clean and very comfortable.
Cosy, warm and friendly old coaching Inn steeped in history. Lovely rooms ,good food & Beer and the decor is wonderful. Great service, Lovely Sunday roast. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for an enjoyable stay.
