I have stayed at lots of hotels over the years and it is the small things that make a difference. Like enough milk in the room to make that morning or evening drink without keep having to pop down for more. Also the loo paper was proper stuff not that thin skinny stuff used by many hotels.Beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were large with everything from a hair dryer to a trouser press.

We stayed because the Crown was hosting the 1st Maverick music show, we arrived early but it was no problem checking in early. Millie asked us if we wanted to change rooms as they could offer a better 3rd bed which was excellent. She also arranged for dinner to be taken outside the dining room and next to the concert room so we could have first choice of seats. All the staff that day were exceptionally helpful even though very busy. Sunday breakfast was served by a wonderfully sweet young lady for whom nothing was too much trouble, she was just so polite with lovely smile and a great attitude. We had a great stay. Nothing to say

The room was lovely although it was a bit cold and the spare heater did not work. But overall the stay was very nice. The food was not good! I'd recommend the place to stay but not the food.

We went for the new year weekend. The Crown had put on a great evening. As the hotel was fully booked for new years eve there was not enough staff for breakfast, this meant we waited an hour to be served.

This was a weekend break. We had a very well appointed room with sitting area adjacent and en-suite facilities. It was a winter's stay and the room was very well heated. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent and not expensive although the menu was quite restricted. The hotel was well situated in the centre of Framlingham and was full of character as you would expect from an old coaching inn. A most enjoyable stay and one which offered excellent value for money Plumbing was a bit ancient and water took a while to work its way through the system. Once arrived the water was very hot.

The Crown Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Old beams, creaky floor boards, wood fires. Fantastic food in the evening and the breakfast was enormous! The staff were a highlight of the stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them; they were friendly and cheerful at all times. There was a nice mixture of young and old, creating a lovely atmosphere. I can't wait to visit again!

The old world atmosphere and the location in the centre of the small town were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. As one would expect at Christmas the staff were stretched and did not provide information that they should have done about the state of the hotel including the absence of heating in the room I was allocated. The hotel is overpriced for what it currently offers.

The room (No.6) was fantastic with nice furniture, especially the bed! I loved the creaky floor - it just added some extra charm and authenticity to this old coaching inn. The rest of the hotel was also charming and had been appropriately decorated for Christmas. I had a lovely breakfast at the hotel and returned with my three younger children aged 5, 8 and 14 for lunch. All three (different) adult meals were very tasty and large; the children's portion of ham, eggs and chips was massive. The staff were very helpful and also took a picture of us in front of the Christmas tree. Although I like to try different places, if I need to stay in the area again I'll definitely consider staying here. The only thing that I could fault them on was the location of the socket in relation to the table although this could be my fault for not having a power lead to my laptop that is of sufficient length! This was the best WiFi access out of all the hotels I've stayed at over the last few months.

The location of the building in the center of the town , the building its self with the exposed beams and history , the room was excellent very spacious and warm , well equiped , I was unsure after reading some of the other reviews which seemed to slate this hotel , well after staying here they must of been on a mission to not have a good time !!!1 Loads of hot water , lovely rooms , friendly staff , superb setting highly recomended , the breakfast was huge and very good , we would definatly stay here again A few more tea bags in the room , we only had four and only one was a pg we do like our tea in the morning when waking up ,

Myself and my partner stayed at the Crown as we attended a wedding nearby. Subsequently, we only required a bed and breakfast facility from the hotel; so we didn't really investigate any of the hotel's other facilities. That said, we had some guests join us for breakfast the next day and the staff were not only obliging but the breakast itself was terrific. The hotel is presently refurbishing its rooms, and whilst the room we were in has yet to have its makeover, it was clean and fresh even though the style and furnishing of the room was a little tired. I would stay at the Crown again Parking spaces at the rear of the hotel (set in a poorly signed one-way system) were a little limited and whilst the traffic layout is in no way the responsibilty of the hotel there should be a greater indication of this parking arrangement made on the various websites concerned. In fairness, this is not a problem unique to this hotel and is a matter that many such hotels, i.e. traditional coaching inns set in old towns with limited boundary restrictions should bring to the attention of their potential customers.

I was in room 2, a very nice double room for single occupancy, with stairs down to the bed and seating area. The Crown is in a very good location, and within easy reach of being able to drive to surrounding areas for sight-seeing. I ate a few times at The Crown, and on each occasion I thoroughly enjoyed the food. Overall, I found the staff to be lovely and very helpful. (Any issue raised with the Manageress was dealt with speedily. If resolution was within her power, it was dealt with quickly and nothing was ignored).

Loved the feeling of it being a very old building. It has not been spoiled by too many modern alterations Pleasantly surprised with the room as it was different to the one we expected to get after seeing the picture at the online booking. If all your rooms are this good perhaps you should change your online photos.

Staff were very friendly and the rooms were a good size and the bathroom towels were very very soft! The hotel is an old building so can be noisy from creeping floor boards, rooms are very dated but this is in line with the hotel. Cleanliness could of been improved on the less noticeable areas, such as head board. The room has to be locked with a key, which could easily be forgotten as you become so use to just shutting the door behind you, havin said that staff reminded you of this and a little sign on the door to also remind you. The room was very expensive for what you get, I assume this is due to the limited choice in the area, however perfect for a weekend get away to the more remote countryside.

The Crown is full of character and a wonderfully old building. Some of the rooms had poor views i.e brick walls. Staff although extremely friendly not always efficient. Too expensive compared to comparable accomadation.

Fantastically impressive building on Framlingham market square. Tons of character and a large patio with tables/chairs at the back, along with a private car park. Everything one could want for a short stay in the Suffolk countryside.

Central location in small market town, next to the Castle, does it get any better ??? The high price I paid did not reflect this hotel, which, as I love old coaching inns this one is good but not at this price.
