I travel for work much of the time and have stayed at the Crown Hotel on several occassions and i am never disappointed
Dinner had a great selection of food at good prices. Breakfast was good too with a varied selection.
comfortable beds close to shops
room was very comfortable and staff were very friendly indeed
staff friendly food good
fire alarm went off but not a fire or drill woke me up at 2.30 am didnt get back off to sleep
Room very, very dark ... window only opens three inchs ... one of the lamps did not work, seemed to be the plug socket!
the food was abit pricey
Friendly and accommodating attitiude of staff; good food; clean & comfortable room.
Loved that this is not a hotel chain but has the right mix between a corporate and boutique feel. Was immaculately clean, comfortable and modern. The breakfast was delicious and generous. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing really but it was a little further from the motorway than anticipated
The room was warm, very clean, good quality bedding, comfortable beds and good bathroom with shower. Iron, ironing board and hairdryer all very handy if needed, I would certainly use this hotel again. Breakfast was good but very very busy, we did have a little wait but wasn't a problem.
We arrived at 10.30 pm, being delaid on journey, the car park was full, we had to sit in car waiting for someone to leave, it would be a good idea to leave parking for overnight guests. The wifi did work but kept logging us out. But overall a good stay.
The layout of hotel was excellent------ excellent use of space on the ground floor with restaurant, bar and outside seating.
we could not connect to the wifi
the pub with its exceptional ambiance and good food
Comfortable rooms , good food, friendly staff and location.
Only criticism is that I booked two rooms, and when I was given room number 300 it was obviously a family room which would have accommodated my family party adequately, although I did not see these rooms described on the website.
Dinner was good, as so were the alchaholic shakes!
The act that there was a problem with the first room we were given, as there had been a problem with the air con, then the second room had a problem with the smell of sewerage, which obviously was on going as there were quite a few 'plug in' room fragrances in the corridors. Also the breakfast was beyond poor, we ordered scrambled eggs that took nearly an hour and arrived burnt!
Excellent value apart from fawlty towers breakfast. We had to wait a hour for breakfast but it gave us time to clearyheprevious customers breakfast plates. We then had to go to other tables to get butter for our toast. Girls we friendly but clueless. No trays to bring our food or clear tables... But don't let this put you off. Just allow an hour or so for breakfast
Breakfast not worth the wait
Great location for us. We were working nearby. Good rooms , quiet and with wifi gave me chance to work. Good and service good but one evening they were overwhelmed by a group and so we decided to go to pizza Express next door. Overall. A good start. Xx Cath
Clean and comfortable - just what I needed! Food was good and reasonably priced. Parking on site which was handy. Free wi-fi. Had no issues at all!
Reception was courteous. Beds were comfortable. Room a fair size, although dark.
Poor lighting in room (old section). No lift. We were overlooking bar/garden, so noisy. Short staffed in breakfast room; tables left uncleared; plates, bread, croissants not refilled unless asked; no supervision in breakfast room. Some weird policy about "environmental issue" when asked to freeze a small freezer block for a medical package!
staff could not have been better thank you ellie and tom for being so nice my first night and thank you to all other staff for your kindness .
not a thing
They did a pre authorisation on my card of the amount it cost to stay which took the money out of my bank fair enough the next day i was leaving and did a completion payment not till after I did that I realised the hotel took two amounts of money off me when I went to speak to them there was nothing they could do it took 5 day for the money to go bk in my bank and the receptionist said to me it happens a lot so if you stay and you room cost £100 for 1 night make sure u have £200 cos they hold ur money
The staff were very friendly and the place had a relaxed feel which was very pleasant. The breakfast was most enjoyable and all in all was good value.
We had specifically requested a quiet room but found the air conditioning very noisy and had difficulty sleeping because of the noise.
Air conditioning big room
Very comfortable hotel in a very handy location just off the M25. Very tasty food in the restaurant.
In the restaurant, both at dinner and breakfast, the service was very haphazard - I had to repeat requests and even then not everything was brought
