Convenient for Heathrow if you have a car.
Stayed on a Saturday night and my room was directly adjacent the main town centre and there as a rock band in the Crown Pub that evening. Am sure other days are a little quieter.
Excellent breakfast, especially the "just out of the oven" wholemeal bread for toast. Attention of staff was excellent and I was treated really well.
The room was cosy and quiet, despite a live band in the pub, I didn't hear a thing! Coffee and tea facilities were much appreciated on arrival and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom was superb. Loved it - wished I was staying longer!
The bar had a good vibe with lots of variety on the menu
The toilet in my room didn't flush properly which was annoying
Good location for Surrey and Berkshire, nice large pub/bar area.
The hotel is well located and within 20 minutes of the railway station. there is plenty of parking in a secure car park behind the hotel. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable.
I had specifically asked for a quiet room, but was put on the ground floor next to the car park, so was kept awake with car doors slamming till 11.30pm. In my room the heater didn't work (eventually they brought me a portable one), the desk was too wobbly to use (it was replaced) and one of the bulbs had gone in the desk light (again it was replaced). Only minor things, but I shouldn't have had to point them out. At breakfast it took 25 minutes for them to get me a bacon sandwich, which I then didn't have time to eat, as I had a train to catch. The evening meal food was good, but the restaurant was very noisy, as it is right next to a busy bar.
Situation, atmosphere, staff
nice hotel rooms, food reasonably priced.
Staff were very friendly and prompt and room was really nice.
Parking was a major issue and couldn't park anywhere in the car park. Had to park in sainsburys so less secure. Room faced on to the outside area of the bar/restaurant felt bit uncomfortable people could see in unless curtains were shut.
Staff were very friendly. Room was comfortable and clean, made up each day we were there. Room had much needed tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom had bath and shower.
Restaurant was a little pricey for what we got but, food was hot and tasty. TV remote required us to stand in front of tv to change channel.
There was nothing not to like.
Not being able to stay for another night.
Nice big room Modern environment Amazing breakfast Lovely pub Staff really helpful Nice bathroom
Bed (more specifically pillows) Noise from the pub at closing time Noise from the pub from band Noise from the car park Loud heating/cooling system
We and other friends were staying as going to a wedding nearby, Found staff helpful, room and food all really good. Parking at the back of hotel was useful as we were able to leave our car there for the whole weekend. Would recommend this hotel.
Excellent value for money. Nice, clean room with good facilities. Great location. Recommend to others.
Nice room everything you would expect
No window to open for fresh air so just had to have air conditioning
Good service in the restaurant and our party all enjoyed the food.
Our booking was for a superior twin bed room. Room/bathroom ok but both single beds had king size duvets wrapped over and completely under the mattress and these duvets apart from NOT being appropriate for single beds they were ENORMOUSLY HEAVY. I had great difficulty trying to turn over. My sleep was so shallow and I had a long drive the following day. I felt lousy. I don't drink alcohol iether. Cheated of a proper nights' sleep.Wouldn't stay here again
We had a very comfortable stay at the Crown Hotel. I especially appreciated the air conditioning, as it had been warm the day before and day of our arrival. The Crown is a top quality hotel.
Location, early check in.
Poor room sound proofing, breakfast and lousy staff.
.Unhelpful staff .had to park in supermarket .Stained sheets .Cobwebs around patio doors .Beer garden Tables set up directly outside rooms been in touch with management and obviously do not care how they treat there paying customers
Great value for money. We arrived early and our room was ready at 12 noon which was a huge help as we were attending a wedding. Breakfast the next day was 5 star!
I liked how close it was to thorpe park. The bar / garden area had nice atmostphere
The bed was a big springy and noisy
Comfortable good size bedroom
Noise in restaurant
Spacious twin room. Clean. Able to open windows. Nice bathroom.
Very heavy duvets - too warm. Disco on Sat night in bar, 3m from room.
very clean, looks nice, staff were helpful
we were not brought breakfast into our room, although staff confirmed they would (we were due to depart prior to the official breakfast time) the restaurant looked great, but the food was not very good.
Breakfast was good
Band playing until midnight: continuos sound of drumming. Big pillar in middle of the room. Woke up with a cricked neck due to hard pillows.
