Very friendly staff. Our dog was made very welcome and given some dog biscuits. We could eat in the Bar with her in the evening and have breakfast there also. Very convenient stop over returning from Folkstone. Excellent value.
Staff........location.......bar and breakfast
Bedroom [ the cheapest [ small but with frosted windows allowing no outlook....like a prison.....Sunday lunch pretty basic
Lovely clean hotel in a very pretty location with friendly staff. Rooms decorated to a good standard. Bed very comfortable. Delicious cooked breakfast with a wide choice available. We also ate in the pub one evening which was also tasty and fairly priced. Would definitely return if we were heading to that area again.
Rooms a little noisy from the corridor and next door. We would also hear gushing water every now and then. Unsure if it was next doors toilet or sink, but annoying nonetheless especially late at night or early in the morning. Water pressure in the shower was very poor. Unable to connect to the wifi.
We stayed for 3 nights and cannot fault the place. The room was brilliant, very comfortable bed. Breakfast had a good variety and we'll cooked. We ate at the restaurant one of the nights and this was also very good. Would definitely be going back
Entering a crowded public bar with a small case I was immediately spotted by the bar staff and taken to the reception area in the corridor to the rear car park. Warm welcome and offered early morning call and newspaper (both declined!). Excellent, cosy large room with view across the pretty square. Quirky 400yr old sloping floor yet all the modern expectations of the 21st Century including good wifi signal. Breakfast - wide choice and very tasty. All the staff were very pleasant. 10/10!
It was all good.
Great pub/hotel, clean, friendly, parking, big room.
Wi-Fi isn't great.
Excellent stay! The food was fantastic!! great quality breakfast included in the price all cooked fresh! The room was beautifully presented!! Will be going back even if it's just for dinner!
Comfortable room - good food at reasonable prices - dog friendly - excellent location in central Kent. Not the cheapest but definitely value for money - we got what we paid for. Would certainly use this hotel again [this was our third visit].
A charming environment , lovely food
Cannot think of anything
Extremely poor mobile signal which is essentially for business travel. Unstable wifi
Breakfasts were great Location & Car park Montepulciano D'Abruzzo Wine Good Ale & lively bar Blankets available instead of duvet
Noise from other rooms Sunday Roast only average
The Dog and Bear has been sensitively modernised and extended to retain and enhance the character of the lovely old building. The bar/dining room staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. The generous portions of food were well prepared and served efficiently by attentive staff.
The room contained a lot of furniture and felt quite cramped as there was very little space between the end of the bed and the wall. After our first night the room was cleaned and refreshed well but the same level of care was not evident on the subsequent three days, in fact on one occasion the room staff missed us out completely! We would have welcomed vegetables being served separately and a fresh fruit salad being included on the menu to balance the richness of some of the dishes.
The Hotel is all you would expect for a country pub, with the added accommodation at the rear including safe parking. The rooms are a good size and well furnished. The food was excellent.
Nothing much to dislike
Good food Comfy beds Nice staff
Shower not powerful enough
Nice rooms and friendly staff.
We were visiting Kent for two days in September and stayed at the Dog & Bear for one night. We were a group of 4 staying in 2 twin rooms in the building to the rear of the main Pub with an outdoor walkway joining them. The food and pub ale were excellent and good value, the rooms were clean, spacious, modern and as they were seperate from the pub were very quiet. Lenham town centre is quite small but definitely worth exploring with many historic buildings, church and an impressive Tithe Barn.
Being so near to the port of Dover
There was nothing to dislike
Friendly staff and good food.
We are a short couple, the tallest of us is 5.10 which was just as well as the room was very low and uneven in the floor. This did not cause us a problem cos we short but anyone taller would have to bend the whole time they were in the room. The bath room was even lower and even I who is only 5.1 found that my head touched the ceiling when it came to getting out of the bath. Poor shower availability because of the height of the room. But it was fun for us.
staff were wonderful. Really helpful and nothing was any trouble for them. They went out of their way to help my husband and I arrange a taxi and offer us further advice on the area.
The people who had the room above us! I know you are going to get people walking about, flushing the loo and opening draws etc... but the people above us were unreal, i think it was a heard of elephants up there really!!! Not the hotels can fault but people should be more considerate of others!
Excellent food at dinner and breakfast with friendly and professional service
We had the last room available which was quirky and okay but I suspect other rooms would be better.
Staff super, food good, bed comfy, room great, just where we needed it to be - on way to Dover - what is not to like, great ales.
Owner and staff Bar and restaurant Breakfast Surrounding area
Location, picturesque village and setting. Good parking, excellent breakfast. Well equipped and furnished bedroom. Great bed.
Lots of steps and stairs to room. Shower over bath.
The breakfast The friendliness of the staff The cleanliness of the room The atmosphere of the hotel during meal times.
The height of the room. The room is at the corner and if I am 1.7cm and taller, I will have problems showering in the bathtub in a standing position. There is no separate showering section.
Clean and well maintained.
