Historic village - the pub was built in he early 17th C.
Comfortable room, lots of parking, excellent breakfast.
Few minor maintenance issues in bathroom.
Good sized bed. Large room. Nice breakfast cooked fresh. Friendly staff. Bar was also friendly in the evening.
Handle fell off the shower. Other guests bathrooms were quite noisy at night.
Rooms were modern yet comfortable, with up-to-date fixtures. Lovely breakfast and very hospitable staff.
The food for dinner was ok, but the meat was tough and veges underdone. Breakfast was much better.
Excellent breakfast - it was good to find it was cooked to order with very good bacon and sausages.
Very cosy village pub serving fantastic food.
The room, food and the young woman who was the cleaner. Room changed because of noise. Room 1
noisy people, rushed at breakfast, I found the landlady offish because there was a mix up about the bed type, she asked if having a twin room was a problem, when I said it was Valentine's Day she told me in offish tone that she was well aware of that fact. So why would ask if my husband and I have a problem with a twin!
Nice room friendly staff.
Decent size room and comfortable beds; catering/waiting staff were helpful and friendly.
We had no hot water; we didn't bother about this till the morning when my husband popped down (in his PJs and dressing gow)n to ask about it. While he was out of the room I got a phone call from reception telling me 'there was a man in a state of undress wandering around the hotel.' I said that that would be my husband on his way to say we had no hot water. I got a telling off for not reporting it the night before! The receptionist continued to be rude (to us and other guests) and didn't appear to ask anyone if they had enjoyed their stay etc. Other niggles were that the free wifi was rubbish - it involved logging onto a website then choosing from various third-party providers including many that weren't free, so I didn't bother. Our room had been fitted out by a tall builder (mirrors placed for 6' people) and not thought through properly. Hotel personnel should try staying in the rooms they let :>)
Lovely village location. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room.
Food Great room Staff Breakfast
Slow wifi but you get it for free so not an issue
All very good
great traditional English pub.
Hot water and not hot at all.
Breakfast staff and location
Free wifi was a bit of a pain to get logged on consistently
Pub is still like a pub rather than a restaurant. Nice location in village square. Good breakfast.
Shower/cubicle was a bit old and shower weak .
Free parking,Good location to visit friends for one night, Centre of quaint village location.
Bathroom was a little dated but functional and clean
After christmas my wife and I just wanted a quiet brake for a couple of days.from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, that is what we got.The staff did not hastle us at all, every question or request was answered so politly, the food was great, the room was comfortable but most of all it was the rest we were looking for.Special thanks to the barmaid, breakfast waitress and receptionist.
Located in a nice Village. The bar and dining rooms are homely and the breakfast is really excellent. Dining is fine and the staff are most helpful and kind. In fact everything downstairs is really nice.
However, upstairs is a different story. The hairdryer fitting fell off the wall and didn't work properly. The toilet roll holder was hanging loose on one screw. The bed, though large, is hard and so too are the pillows. The sink in the bathroom was running constantly (is water free of charge in the UK?). The toilet flush takes several attempts every time. The shower is a disaster -takes several minutes to warm up and barely showers at all. There is black mould around the bath edge. We placed a towel on the floor as a signal to replace - didn't work - so next day we placed it in the bath tub - that too didn't work - so no clean towels for 4 nights. It's difficult to quantify this place because downstairs is really quite nice, the food is good and service excellent. The rooms however are two star at best and the bathroom is an absolute disaster. 7 out of 10, and I'm being kind
room was well equipped and great location for disabled guests beds were comfortable and staff very helpful. Dogs very comfortably accommodated. would recommend the breakfast and the service was first rate
nothing to complain about
this hotel was very nice to stay very good food nice staff on the hole nice plaice to stay

Clean, spacious with very polite staff.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was ckean and very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. It was just the tight temperature and tasted wonderful. The whole experience was fantastic. Thank you.
Nothing, other than I couldn't stay longer!
Proximity to tunnel
Staff were split 50/50 some attentive others complacent and rushed overall feeling of being a slight nuisance to them.
Breakfast Room Staff
