The Dog & Bear Hotel  

The staff were excellent and the full english breakfast was really tasty. The room was cosy as it was in the oldest section of the pub but well kitted out. The rennovation of the Dog and Bear was nicely done and sympathetic to the age of the property.

We were in room 4 which is quite a challenge if you are over 5ft 10in tall as the ceiling is very low. Although there was a hand held shower in the ensuite, we weren't able to use it standing due to the incredibly low ceiling. I understand that it's a very old building but the ceiling could have done with being a couple of inches higher!

Friendly efficient staff; lovely room, warm, food excellent; very good value for money.

It was very well decorated and reasonably priced. The breakfast was generous and the staff helpful.

I think we had the water tank or heater which went on and off several times during the night, which was disturbing. The breakfast timings were a bit early and finished at 9.30, having been to a wedding last orders at 10 am would have ben better.

The staff and local people were welcoming and friendly, especially in the bar area. Because of the lack of noise we managed 2 good nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent and so was the food in the restaurant.

Finding the car park after a 6 hour drive at night was a hindrance. Needs to be signed more clearly, even after leaving the car to ask in the bar where it was it was unclear which turning to take, however when found, lots of parking spaces and convenient for back door to Hotel.

We thought the food was especially good value for money. Waiting staff very helpful.

Good value clean and presentable hotel, pleaant location in smallish Kent village.

Very comfortable, smart, accomodation - but also the friendliness of the staff, who seemed as relaxed as they were efficient.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the room was lovely.

I would warn against the sweet waffles at breakfast - they were out of a packet. But the rest of breakfast (eggs / bacon) was lovely so I suspect other choices would have been better.

Good location in a pleasant village.

The staff is so nice and helpful. We had a wonderful time! Will return any chance we get!

Only criticism I could come up with is that the coffee at breakfast was not particularly hot.
