Location was fantastic for us. You can't get closer to the moors. It is also close to Whitby and other great towns to visit. The room was large and comfortable and the English breakfast was excellent.
The setting, the comfort and cleanliness of the room the excellent service from staff.
hard to get mobile reception
We liked being in a beautiful remote part of the Yorkshire Moors . The staff were very welcoming , polite and accommodating . The food good value for the money .
There was not really anything not to like but on our return will request a room with a view although this would not stop us from returning .
Cosy, immaculately clean room. Good breakfast. Excellent value for money.
Bed on the firm side. No view
Location was good. Good feel about the place. Friendly staff and locals. Good breakfast. Dan
Non existant signal for phone / 3G
Conveniently located, clean and full of character
Loved location. A real getaway from hustle and bustle but still close enough to whitby for day trip. Food was excellent as was the beautiful spotless room. Will definately be back for another short break.
The room was much better than expected (desperately booked at last minute, so pleasant surprise!). Staff brilliant, beer and evening food very good. Breakfast absolutely brilliant! I will recommend and also revisit with family next time. 10/10
Everything not one complaint definitely recommend and would certainly book again if passing that way

Friendly staff, great food
Wifi was intermittent at best
Traditional, authentic old inn in beautiful area, lovely helpful staff, great attention to detail, even the marmalade and jam were delicious; no piped music or any music, nor public TV or gaming machines so wonderfully peaceful, calm and relaxed; staff, regulars and visitors able to talk and listen, everyone friendly; loved the sloping floors, low ceilings and tasteful décor; food excellent, traditional home cooking, fresh, quality ingredients; very dog friendly in bar areas, two bedrooms accept dogs so need to check if these are available when booking if you want to guarantee your dog/s can share your room; loved my two night stay and intend to return - local railway from nearby Danby station into Whitby, along the Esk Valley was a delightful bonus
liked everything, no complaints
Nice place in a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the bar is really nice with a selection of local ales and good home cooked good. We really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful room and friendly staff. Would stay there again.
My partner is 6 foot 4 and the room we stayed in was not ideal. We did joke about it but his feet were hanging out the bed and he couldn't stand up straight in the shower. The only other thing was the poor signal of the wi-fi.
Friendly staff and clean facilities
A little out of the way for what we wanted, but that is not a negative against the hotel
Nothing to dislike, having stopped here a number of times before it feels like coming to a second home, it is spotless, comfortable, the food of the highest quality and value. We will be back again next year.
Very friendly staff. Excellent food, lovely cosy room. If you enjoy walking this is a great place to stay over. Lovely bakery and tea shop just around the corner. Train a few minutes walk away. I've been before and would go back again.
Cannot get a signal on your phone unless you walk up the hill, but this is not the hotel's fault. As I did not use WiFi cannot comment.
More or less everything - helpful staff, good choice of beers, good quality, fresh food, well served... This felt like a well run establishment.
Bedroom was a bit smaller than ideal, but spotless and well equipped. No lift and a long walk to our room - but we were helped with our luggage. Not a lot of parking space.
The relaxed atmosphere
No mobile signal and poor wifi in rooms
Loved our room especially the view. Good breakfast. Good service. Recommend the pies!
Nothing. We wanted to stay longer!!
The Wellington Inn is a credit to the Boss and his staff. Comfy clean rooms, splendid food and great location. And great local real ale. Keep it quiet...don't want the place to get too busy...We'll be back....
