Great atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff and great, well-kept ales!
Clean, comfortable and the food was excellent. All members of staff were attentive, cheerful and had an eye for detail. Will definitely return
No bad experience. Nothing.
Quiet, tranquil, at peace in a maddening world.great host and caring staff with excellent food off menu no additional costs. Loved the log fire excellent beer and locals very polite.
no iron so i had to go to work in a creased shirt, no wifi information and no breakfast as i left at 07:30
Really nice place, nice staff and clean
Friendly staff and village locals, will always stay when working in the area.
No bad experiences
The food, friendly staff and locals.
Wifi not working No phone signal on Vodafone
staff were great Great views Good traditional pub atmosphere
My only negative issue is that generally the building was quite cold.
The staff were very pleasant and attentive.
Lovely Friendly Place, very clean and comfortable. Real fire in grate in pub lounge, made it warm and welcoming on cold days. Great menu food hot and good portion sizes. Locals played music later on evening making it a lovely relaxing place to relax and eat.
Great staff very clean and well presented good yummy food
Staff lovely and welcoming. Bedroom nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. Food both in the evening and at breakfast excellent. We will definitely be going back.
Lovely room , wish we could gave stayed longer, but will be back
Room was cold although it was January. Ran out of hot water when filling the bath.
Very freindly, good food, comfortable and clean would deffinatly go back.
Wifi coverage poor. Cold rooms
Lovely location great staff
Bedroom a bit on the small side and low ceiling in en-suite.
Charlie and the owners cooking.
A very, very cold and small bathroom due to lack of heating
Friendly staff and locals. Excellent food and a good location
The windows didn't shut properly which on the coldest night so far this year made for a disapointing nights sleep. The owner did not make you feel very welcome and everything seemed to be an inconveninec for him. Although the rooms were tastefully decorated this theme did not run throughout the hotel as the bar and dinning room was very datedated and in need of some tlc.
Location was lovely and the room was clean and tidy. The barman in the evening was a credit to the place and was much more welcoming and friendly than the owner.
Matteres was a little hard.
Stunning location only 30 minutes from different places to go. Lovley small quiet village with friendly locals. Fantastic room all mod cons.
wireless internet slow
Accommodation, real ales. Idyllic location in traditional village.
Would highly recommend
I enjoyed my stay at the Duke. My only regret was that I left too early in the morning (for me) to want the excellent full breakfast on the second morning. It was available though!
I absolutely loved the duke of Wellington in Danby. Excellent food and cannot speak more highly of the staff. Highly recommend and already have to friends. Hope to be staying there again in the near future.
