location was excellent
no hot water as we had an early departure
Nice to be able to check in and be told you can pay anytime, no need to be messing around with credit card deposits amnd the like. Great downstairs room, very private with small terrace and acces sto the garden. Good breakfast, easy to park and great location in Haymarket.
Shame breakfast didn't start a but earlier than 7.30am.
Location near Haymarket Station as we arrived by train.
Would be difficult to park near during the week
Great wifi, close to bus and trams, good restaurants within walking distance.
Hot water was slow to come through the system.
Parking availability was poor
Breakfast Bed was comfortable Cleanliness
TV didn't work properly Late arrivals banging the front door and then their own Low pressure on basin tap
The rooms very clean and large
Dining room was a little on the small side for the amount of people in there having breakfast.. Shower was poor
Breakfast, good choice, well cooked Shower very roomy Close to bus & tram stops for city centre & airport Staff gave info on which buses to catch where, & to use day ticket
Noisyness of some residents who banged doors all the time
Location was good just a short walk from the tram, so easy access into the city centre. Staff were helpful telling us different places of interest. Rooms were clean & spacious. Enjoyed our stay
Very organized staff with a great breakfast and great location close to Haymarket station. 15 minutes walking distance to city centre.
Starting to show signs of aging; chipped cups and linen on table starting to run. Rushing staff at breakfast felt uncomfortable.
It was nice and quiet with no disturbances from other guests or road noise.
Lack of a lift or a bar/lounge for a quiet relaxing drink.
Staff were friendly
44stairs to climb to bedroom and no lift poor selection for breakfast
Lack of personal security
The quitness, cleanliness and the atmosphere in the breakfastroom
The mattress of one bed was worn in the other the mattress was OK
I was thrilled with every aspect of the Lairg Hotel. It's always difficult to book a hotel in another country and feel confident that you have made a good decision. But, from the start the staff at the Lairg was very helpful. I called them after my initial booking to add a couple of nights and they were very gracious. When we arrived we were greeted with warmth and lots of assistance. The room was very large and beautifully decorated. Our window looked out to a lush garden and the windows opened to a lovely breeze. A fabulous breakfast is served each day in what must have at one time been a well appointed parlor. What a delightful way to start each day. The Lairg is also in a perfect location, very close to the bus, tram and Haymarket train station. We were able to get anywhere in minutes. My experience at the Lairg was one of my best.
I would simply warn that if you cannot climb stairs, an elevator is not available.
Hot breakfasts, friendly staff.
Poor WiFi service, no hotel computer.
Good breakfast. Good proximity to tram and railway station. Gluten free bread available
Traffic noise on cobbled street
All the staff were very friendly and made our stay really enjoyable every one went out of there way to be helpful, Great breakfast would definitely recommend this hotel.
TV in room was not very good, but feel that if we had said something it would have been sorted out for us.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Parking is a nightmare! Had to go to the local Tesco to get coins for the parking meter. Cost of metered street parking prohibitive. No free street parking until 6.30pm-8.30 am
Breakfast had very good selection free Wifi close to train station held our bags on check out day till the afternoon
The period room was just what we asked for, we couldn't fault the cleanliness. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent with good quality produce used. The location is great with just 2 minutes walk to most bus routes, trams or railway, 10 minutes to the city center if you decide to walk.
we were in a front ground floor room and therefore there was a small amount of road noise, but no more than expected for a city center and sleep wasnt affected.
Breakfast great, room very clean, staff very helpful and friendly, 10 minute walk to Princes street, good location
Our Room top of house long climb up especially with luggage, very hot also,
Large room with fantastic four poster bed and huge window allowing lots of light.
TV a bit small to watch from the bed. Very small pieces of soap.
Helpful staff Nice old building Close to city and train station Direct bus from end of road to airport
Shower didn't work in first room which also smelt damp, however, I was moved the following day to a new room Breakfast very average- cheap frozen croissants are not a good look
