Room was nice and bed was huge.
Wifi was non existent and breakfast was poor
Quality of food was good.
Breakfast on the Sunday morning was a bit of a shambles waiting almost 30minutes for tea and toast. Other than that it was good and will stay again.
The weekend we stayed there was a lot off noise in the hotel. There were people coming in and out of rooms in the middle of the night letting their bedroom doors bang. I think there needs to be 24 hour reception on in the hotel. I got very little sleep both saturday and sunday night. If you have group bookings then you need to monitor noise levels much better and check what is going on in the hotel past 11 pm.
Friendly helpful staff, food was good and plenty of choice
The car park floods so be selective where you park or there will be wet feet
Excellent value for money hotel. We had dinner on the Friday night; again great value and quality for the money.
Only negative was the scrambled egg wasn't very nice (possibly made with reconstituted egg mix)
Spacious room (double, sofa, 2 chairs). Breakfast was quickly cooked to order - no complaints, unlike reviews seen. Good cooked breakfast menu.
I abandoned the idea of turning right onto rush-hour A30 when leaving! Not ideally located. Limited "continental" breakfast menu. Had to register for free wifi.
Friendly greeting, excellent breakfast
Very mobile occupant of room above constant noise of him moving around late at night and early in the morning. Poor tv reception
Great place to stay!!
The food at the restaurant was not up to same standard of the hotel
Restaurant menu varied and good value. Room - large and well appointed. Staff friendly and efficient.
The staff were extremely polite and hard working and were trying to accomplish a professional service that would have been in line with a very prestigious environment - top marks to them for their effort and not becoming de-motivated by their surroundings.
On arrival our room was extremely damp and smelled so strongly of mould we couldn't actually breathe. The room had no proper heating and the roll-along electric heater did not work. The windows are not glazed properly and the staff confirmed de-humidifiers had been tried to no avail. They worked their socks off to move us to a better room and we ended up sharing a double bed (we are work colleagues not partners!) The pub was again friendly and staff super efficient but the food was lacking - fajita wraps were dry, cold and hard. The whole building is in desperate need of upgrading to make it healthy and pleasant. It is a lovely old house and has lovely people working in it - the pub chain owners should invest as soon as they can afford.
Stayed here many times when they have good deals. Wouldn't pay their top rate. Friendly staff; clean & very comfortable bed.
Said it before & still don't like the fact that you have to go outside to the restaurant for meals. I heard someone else remark on it this time so I'm not alone in wishing for easier access.
A lovely comfortable bed, in a good sized room. A welcome good nights sleep after a long day. The restaurant was great, we had a lovely meal and a few drinks then a short walk to our room. A lovely place to stay.
Great to break to journey for heathrow Great value Good options for evening meal
The bed and general accommodation was first class as were the reception and domestic staff.
The catering staff coupled with a poor restaurant let the side down badly. Communication between the waitresses and the kitchen staff was poor as was the general speed of service. The breakfast [which used to be very good] was luke warm and staff were apt to forget you if you didn't remind them you hadn't been served yet!!
As usual with Old English Inns, great staff and good value food. The hotel is ideally close to our family in Sandhurst and is fast becoming like a second home to us each time we visit the grandchildren. Always get a great start to the day with a good choice of breakfast after a very good nights sleep
We were upstairs this time in room number 24, which was right next to the stairs. Unfortunately for us they creaked very badly which took a bit of getting used to
the hotel and room was great, clean and good décor. a brill bar and good staff in pub
the breakfast was not so good we waited on our first morn for30mins for our hot food and the toast was only toasted on one side, how strange. the 2nd morn there was a queue for dishes for cereals etc and when our poached eggs arrived they where not on toast and all 8 eggs for all 4 of us where hard. the only thing to say was that the breakfast was a mess every morn and we where not the only people that had probs
Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Room facilities were excellent and really good house keeping. Breakfast was way beyond all of the more expensive hotels I've ever stayed in and the meals in the restaurant were great value.
Can't think of anything negative about this Hotel.
Spacious room. Modern
Food service. Slow. Young teenagers with poor address - see headline. No covered access between hotel and pub restaurant. Poor rickety tables. No place mats.
breakfast was ok staff friendly
Basic but ok for a night
The hotel could do with a makeover
Very comfy beds, didn't want to get up! Lovely to have such a nice pub right there too, they serve fab food and there's such a lovely ambience. Lots of parking and easy to find.
Room was rather '70's in style and the bathroom is pretty dated - I wouldn't want a long hot soak in the bath..... Not too keen on the idea of locking yourself in and out (rather than self lock) - just 'cos it's something you can forget to do when you leave the room.
room location great and super comfy, weather permitting good walks nearby
very dissapointed in food at the restaurant, overcooked, not hot enough, or dry, Sat eve veg came out too late for the rest of the meal! shame, staff lovely though!
Excellent value for a Sunday night stay.
