Great value for money and good location - easy walk into Town
The room was right next to the door and the main walkway to reception in the lower floor, very loud in the morning !
I was not informed by staff that there was a function on at the hotel and my room was right above the function room. Unable to sleep due to the noise and the music lasted till gone midnight. Not the sort of thing you need when you are at work at 8am the next day. Would Not stay again
V good value, a better standard of fit out than i was expecting !
Staff very helpful & friendly Had a lovely refurbished room clean and bright. Good location and would recommend for a one night visit.
Many stairs to top floor room could be an issue. Be sure to check if not good with stairs. Breakfast adequate but not great!
10 min walk into the city, friendly staff and a very comfy bed,I will stay again ,
Friendly staff. Helpful (lent us a plug in heater because radiator not working). Good sized room. Good tea and coffee making stuff. Very comfy bed
Room and bathroom not very clean. Hot water only warm. Radiator needed bleeding
Everything was spot on.
I booked this lovely hotel for my daughters18th and her friend. The top floor executive double room was very nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, well equipped, with classical decoration and a great bathroom - a refreshing change from the often clinical looking rooms with some other chains. The receptionist was very welcoming, helpful with advice on local bars, route directions etc and showed us to the room. Nice touch. Gentle walk to the city centre was around 10 minutes. Highly recommended.
Nothing negative of any real issue. The room was on the narrow side but more than compensated by its high quality. There is no lift but that's to be expected perhaps in a classical Edwardian / Georgian smallish building.
love the location as my daughter lives round corner, is not too far from the main shopping area, and other attractions, but away from busy traffic. breakfast great as usual ,have stayed here a few times now.
although we were pre-warned the restaurant might be full during december,on arrival we found out we couldn't use the bar either on both nights we stayed, and we had a room overlooking the carpark and the shutter gate is very noisy when opening and closing.not so happy with this visit. didn't have us down as having paid for breakfast either day which was a little embarrassing, but quickly resolved.
Staff were helpful; breakfast was good.
Being told that the restaurant was not available at all for residents during my three night stay; finding that two lights in the room were not working - I just couldn`t see to work; ten pounds a day for parking, with keys to be left so that your car is constantly moved when required.
Very noisy at night if you have a room to the front. Decoration is rather old and tired. The way to the room led up and down various staircases and through something which was a bit of a storage area...
Ordered a twin room for 2 people and when arrived was given a double. When I told them they were not helpful and failed to even try to help. Poor customer service
No much to say on the positive, it's a standard hotel in a good location and it has car park
The hotel's an old building but this really doesn't excuse the noise that we were exposed too. The door to our room was at the bottom of a flight of stairs and we heard every word and footstep of all the other guests as they traversed the hotel. Also the common areas smell of cigarettes
1. On Sunday night, the loud, noisy music in the bar or ??? went on till late at night 2. I have forgotten to put the long under pants in my luggage. It was left on the bed. I checked out and left my luggage with the reception. Half an hour later, I remembered and called the reception to go to the room and if they could keep it and give it to me when I returned for my luggage. They said they couldn't find that in my room. Where has it gone?
Well equipped, clean, large rooms. Comfort of the bed, Staff, Ability to leave bags in hotel past checkout for no extra cost.
Noise... from other rooms ( showers/hairdryers) /extractor fans/corridor doors slamming. Having to give £50 deposit on every room, even if you want to pay cash ( Even if you offer your credit card for imprint ).
how can you have a party in a hotel on a Tuesday with extremely loud music until 1 am? Sure, Liverpool was playing (and lost), but reall?
No central heating in the room, with freezing weather, need to call reception at 1,30 am to bring a portable heater to be possible sleep quite warmed up. In the morning, after shower, the bath towel was absolutely dirty.
The Location of the Hotel, The Friendliness of Staff, The Cleanliness of Hotel The Car Park being locked Excellent Breakfast Menu
The Fact We couldn´t sample the Dinner Menu due to Private Fumctions
lot of road noise in front bedroom. no lift
Staff were extremely rude and unhelpful(bar one young Northern Irish lad who had just started), and we even overheard them cursing about different nationalities. Pictures make hotel look nicer than is, could do with some refurbishments. Terrible value for money and would not return.
They were so friendly ! Help full and always thete to help
cold water in room smell of sewage two days out of four
The size of the room was really good and location is quite good.
The floors were very noisy, the beds were two singles put together so one of us were uncomfortable.
