The room price including breakfast, free parking and free internet access represented good value. The place has some old world charm. My room was relatively comfortable and appeared to have been newly carpeted. My room was detached from the main building across the car park. The tv was a modern lcd type but it was a 'budget' brand with a very small screen. This made it difficult to view from the distance of my bed and the sound quality was also poor. The shower enclosure in my room was very small and would present problems getting in and out for larger guests. Whoever cleaned the room had left the previous occupants empty shower bottle in there. The guest information booklet was inadequate in a few ways and mine seemed to have some pages missing. My colleague who was in a different room to me could access more information in his booklet. Most of what I have described I could live with but by far the worst part of my experience was my evening meal. I chose to eat in as I wanted to have a couple of pints of beer at the bar and therefore could not drive. I selected whitebait as my starter which I have eaten in restaurants many times before. I expected this would be presented in the same way as small evenly and thinly battered loose fish. Instead the batter used was as thick as you would expect to find in any fish and chip shop. Rather than being separate, the heavy batter stuck the individual whitebait together in clumps of 3 or 4. I hoped that the main course I selected would be of a better standard but this turned out to be equally disappointing. I had chosen Cajun Chicken Breast which was one of the more costly items on the menu. There were two small pieces of chicken on my plate that had been dipped in some obscure spice mixture in an attempt to qualify it as 'Cajun chicken'. There were two small pieces on my plate and my initial though was that the chicken these two pieces came from must have been an extremely small specimen. One piece of 'breast' had a leg bone sticking out of it! This was surrounded by a profusion of the exact same leaves that had come with the whiltebait plus a relatively large helping of chips.

The Room, Cooked Breakfast and location were good. Evening meal very poor - the food was tasteless and poorly presented. Apart from our room, the pub needs a good re-furbishing. The main pub areas smell of cooking - fatty kitchen smells.

We booked this retreat as our time during a weeks family tour. The hotel is located in a quiet location, but very handy for a lot of local attractions like longleat, hayes car museum to name a few. The staff where extremely helpful and friendly, the room was in the an annex a short walk from the main house, this was modern and comfortable. The pool was an excellent facility after a day of walking etc. Food was of good fair and the micro bewry beer of offer was excellent. All in all a good retreat we'd recommend to friends and would use again. The only complaint, which is picking is the floors in the room were very speaky making a quiet midnight visit almost impossible....

No sound proofing in rooms, could hear everything around, snoring baby crying etc. Dinner no where near as good quality as when I stayed at hotel 7 months ago!! Very disappointed with this stay. It must have recently changed owners as breakfast lay out also different to before. Was expecting same high quality.

The entire stay at this lovely period inn was superb; contrasting with the charicter of the Resturant and bar were the modern clean and charming rooms which could double as a cottage if required. The pool was agood feature where the family or business person can undo the stresses of the day. In all I was impressed with the attentive service and the quality and range of ythe food and beverages.

We stayed for one night during a bank holiday weekend, the Full Moon was busy but coped well with the number of guests. We had dinner in house which I would reccommend as it was very nice. The room was separate from the pub which meant it was nice and quiet. The Full Moon is great for a quiet weekend away. The pool could have been cleaner.

The Full Moon is a lovely place to stay, situated in a calm corner at a 17 km from Bath. Excellent situated if you like to visit the surrounding - Bath - Bradford on Avon etc. The room was romantic en very clean with a very good bathroom. The staff was friendly, helpful and we enjoyed talking to all of them. The food was good and the english breakfast super. I can't find something bad from the hotel and maybe the raison is that we love old houses with a history and typical romantic style. I will return there in the future and surely recommend the hotel.

We were lucky to stumble upon the "Full Moon" web site. The atmosphere and reception when we arrived was fantastic and this feeling continued through our stay (which unfortunately was for only one night ) The restaurant meals were first rate and It is very difficult to find anything negative about this hotel.

We stayed upstairs in the new block by the swimming pool. We liked: the room size and decor, the staff (although the initial welcome was slightly cool), the view (over fields towards Westbury), the cooked breakfast (good ingredients, generous, not greasy), the dvd and internet, the evening bar food and choice of real ale. We would have liked: much better insulation between rooms, quiet floorboards, quiet bed! Also lined curtains (far too much light comes in), bigger shower and basin (so, a bigger shower room), more shelving in shower room, a new shower fitting, a decent-sized chest of drawers, a better tv signal, different butter (strangely almost orange in colour), milk (it seemed to be watered down...), better jams and marmalade.

Friendly informal hotel. Not cutting edge style but our room was big, had a good shower, and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful. It's more of a pub with rooms than a classy hotel, but we were perfectly satisfied with what it had to offer. It has a pretty location on the edge of an attractive little village, but is close to major roads.

“From the moment we arrived we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes and waited on hand and foot, nothing was any trouble for the owners Roy & Cate; including understanding and doing everything they could to accommodate my girlfriends nut allergy when it came to ordering food which is all fresh and cooked on the premises. The decor was immaculate, especially in the room with a freestanding bath and 4 poster bed, this was more like staying in a hotel than a b&b! Couldn't have asked for anymore than the incredibly high level of service we got and at such a reasonable price too! Will definitely be returning here!!” Ian, Horsham |
