An excellent hotel while being reasonably priced with rooms inside the hotel and courtyard suites. The dinner menu is a good and varied choice and value for money. Breakfast is everything that you'd expect. The hotel is ideally placed in a delightful little town while being minutes away from Ironbridge Gorge.

The hotel was very comfortable and relaxed. The weather when we stayed was cold but the rooms were kept at a comfortable temperature. The evening dinner menu had sufficient options and we both agreed the food was tasty and well served. Breakfast was enjoyable, relaxed and more than sufficient. Our shower room in the Mews suit was very small. The stand in the shower room was not necessary and the free shampoo/shower could have been better accomodated on a shelf.

The rooms were large and reasonably comfortable, the younger members of staff were exceedingly pleasant and the food and good choice of local beers were both very welcome. The decor of the hotel was beyond chintzy and looked like it had been designed by a granny in the 1970s. While I have no problem with the chintzy look some things weren't really functional as a result and this was a slight disappointment. The owner seemed distrustful of people coming into the bar who weren't regulars and it made us quite uncomfortable - in sharp contrast to the open, friendly and efficient nature of the other members of staff. Our room was above the kitchen and not well sound proofed meaning that the radio came through the floor later in the evening (though they turned this down when we mentioned it) and the noise of setting up in the morning meant we were woken up at about 5 a.m.

Room was spacious with view down Much Wenlock high street. Nice aspect, grounds and beer garden. Nice breakfast. Staff forgot we were there during check in process. We were politely persuaded not to use the restaurant on the first night due to limited guests and to use the bar instead. The restaurant facility was one of the reasons we'd chosen this hotel so this was annoying. The choice of bar meals was limited and food was a disappointment. We did not use the bar or restaurant for our evening meals for the remainder of our stay. Room was above kitchen and noisy. Shower was a pathetic trickle. Ushered to seats at breakfast - no choice of where to sit despite a largely unused restaurant area.

The staff were very helpfull and friendly, they would help if you needed your cases taking to the room. The receptionist took us to the room. We had a room in the front of the building. Except for the shower the room was very nice and comfortable a good quality television. There is coffee and tea with biscuits in the room. The wardrobe and draws to be sufficient. We found the bathroom to be very big. Were we had breakfast is beautifully laid out but historic the food was very nice and always hot also a good selection. The bar is small and cosy again historic with beams on the ceiling. The bar meals are plentiful and again service good and friendly. Two things only 1) No lift and 2) we had a mixer shower and no matter what we tried to do it was either be to hot or to cold no middle ground. When we reported it to the receptionist she openly admitted that they have had plenty of complaints about the showers. A person looked at the shower but it made no difference.

The breakfast was good I think it is overpriced and the rooms are tierd and in need of refurbishment. I also could not get hot water in the shower despite running it for ages and when I told them at reception they just shrugged

Most of the staff were friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. The water system was very poor. The hot water took an age to come through. The shower was only a mixer tap type and only worked at all if taken off the wall and put into the bath. Even then it took a long time to get the right heat balance, which never stabilised anyway. For the prices charged at this hotel you should at least be able to shower normally!

The place is lovely & the town of Much Wenloch is charming. The food at the pub was yummy. The cooked breakfast was good with plenty of toast. Unfortunately the bed was terrible, and the bathroom was tiny in comparison to the rooms are friends had.
