Very much enjoyed the people, the food and the location in Much Wenlock.

The area was a bit loud when the bar let out, or when people came home from there.

Very pleasant staff, superb room and facilities, excellent and reasonably priced food in a good location for exploring Much Wenlock, Priory and the hills of Shropshire.

I liked the historic old feel of the hotel. Downstairs dining and bar area has a nice ambience. The room was comfortable enough. Tea/coffee facilities available in the room. Wifi worked. The hotel is in a very good location central to the Ironbridge historic area. Much Wenlock is picturesque town in a beautiful area. itself is a

My husband and I had a family room just for the two of us. It was quite congested with three beds in the one space. The room was too warm and open windows allowed too much traffic noise as the hotel is situated on a very busy intersection. The shower in our ensuite was a challenge and not a good experience. Narrow window of time for breakfast and early finish at 9am.

Great double aspect room with large bathroom. Excellent food, both breakfast and evening meal. Good choice from the menu and specials board. Recommend the homemade steak and guest ale pie.

    At the room rate, nothing.

Good location to use as a base. Staff excellent. Bar very good. Locals friendly. Room excellent and very clean.

Had a slight problem with evening meal on one occasion but other than that the restuarant was very good.

The freindliness of the staff and the home cooked feel of the food was great, the steak & ales pie was delicious.

My room above main hotel/bar was a bit dated in terms of furniture and decoration and the bed was like iron, thankfully I don't need a soft bed.

    Location, good breakfast, polite staff.

Very small airless bedroom (poorly converted ex function room) thin walls could hear conversation from adjoining room not worthy of price paid.Check out by 10am especially Sunday.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Location is great - 2 mins walk into the village.

The decor in the room was fussy and old fashioned - it could do with an update. Quite noisy both from the pub downstairs and the road which is surprisingly busy.

I loved the quirkiness of accommodation and public rooms. If you want a bland, characterless hotel this isn't for you. The staff were friendly, helpful, polite and professional. Breakfast very good. My accommodation in Mews was two-storey, cottage-style, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. An excellent base for Poetry Festival etc.

Didn't have dinner in main restaurant mainly because of price. Had a reasonable bar meal.

The Gaskell Arms met our needs in every way. The Mews was like a mini cottage type accommodation, with good food just a patios walk away. The staff so were so friendly, immediately made to feel at home and relaxed. Those who like a full English won't be disappointed with breakfast. We'll certainly recommend to friends and hopefully return ourselves.
