Friendly staff, clean, comfy beds
Great location, close to the Underground and you can walk to high street shopping. We had a 4-bed room (2 bunk beds) for three people and it was great to have a sink in there. It was clean, the bathrooms were never busy, and the building has security. It wasn't too noisy in the halls or outside. Location was the best though - you can walk to the national rail stations and it's easy to get on the Underground going straight to Heathrow.
All the dishes and cutlery were dirty at breakfast and the food wasn't coming out fast enough to keep up with the flow of people so we waited around a long time for them to put out more. They have bag storage, but it's not free. You rent large, medium, or small lockers from them.
Confortable beds, quiet rooms, good wifi and a nice atmosphere
Clearly not enough space in the showers and discomfort (nowhere to put clothes, you have to enter naked in the showers, which not everyone is ready to do). Toilets were clogged up most of the time.
Gret location and helpful staff
Staff was great and very helpful. The club and bar where very entertaining and also had good prices. Definitely going back soon.
- nice staff - localisation - atmosphere - decent breakfast - conveniences
- not the cleanest cutlery in the kitchen
-Staff really helpful - Well located - Cleanliness and organization
- only 1 elevator - They should have a vigilant during nightshift checking noisy rooms.
We loved the energetic, friendly atmosphere, the funky design and the really convenient, but quiet location. Our room was situated just above the bar and live music, but it didn't disturb us at all and we slept really well.
We liked everything about the place. It surpassed our expectations and we'd definitely recommend it to friends of all ages.
Very loud music on the Friday night which kept everyone awake. We were then told the next day that 4 members of the group in the room between myself and our other friends were 'too loud' by a security guard and that they were keeping the rooms either side awake. The people in the rooms either side of them were myself and two others and on the other side another 3 members of our group and we were not approached by any security guard and we heard no noise whatsoever apart from the thumping music from two floors below. In my opinion the rules regarding noise are therefore a little contradictory and I also find the attitude of the security guard to be very arrogant as well as slightly childish and uneducated. Apart from that the stay was fine.
Pretty much everything. The Generator is in a great spot. Close to underground etc. I would love to return someday. loved the common areas. Bar etc.
There was nothing I really didn't like. My room was a little small but having my own private bathroom made up for that.
Location, funky rooms, clean and comfortable. Lovely security guard who stands out the front during the day and very helpful
Very basic breakfast that wasn't very appetising. felt too busy and corwded, people going in/out of rooms at all times
I love this hostel so much! I recommend it completely. Perfect for a solo traveller who wants to meet like minded travellers! I made life long friends from staying there a week!
This hostel is soooo great!!! Excellent location (5-10 mins by walk from King's Cross St. Pancras station), friendly and helpful staff. Great place for young travellers. The design is absolutely wonderful... thumbs up!! I totally recommend!
There were only 4 power outlets for a 12 person room - so very difficult to charge devices during night. In the shared shower facilities there was nowhere to keep my things. Showers (not so big :/ ) only had curtains, which wasn't very convenient...
- first off the Hostel is beautifully designed. I loved the interior. -Located very conveniently in Russell sq. so if you are after the touristy stuff everything is within walking/biking distance. -You are right in the center so you won't even need to get an oyster/travel card because you can just bike everywhere. Get bike access for 10 days and bike away. - There is a bar so once you are back at night you can go and have a drink. The music isn't that great though. At least wasn't to my liking. -the rooms are nicely laid out and underneath the bed you have large drawers for your personal stuff. -everything is kept clean - there a TV room, movie room where they play movies every night. The movie selection isn't' that great so no one is ever there. -the staff I generally helpful - overall, good experience
- after a few days the area gets boring and you feel the need to venture out. - the hostel is not equipped with a kitchen for people to store their own food and drinks so you are basically forced to buy food from the cafe which is not particularly great or eat out all the time. -the food at the cafe is just average burgers, salads and beers. It's also a little overpriced I think. The burger that I got once was very overcooked. - the towel rent is way too high at £4. Yes they tell you it's yours for good but you are traveling, you don't have space in your suitcase/backpack. -So It's not backpacker friendly -The movie selection is not great. There is no one ever there in that room. I am sure they can play better movies I wonder why they don't.
location is good, quite close to Russel Square station and Euton rail station.
To get to the toilet and bath room, I have to go across to the other end of the corridor; and saw many half-naked boys or girls with wet hair doing the same. It is not convenient, and makes me embarrassed I have to say.
Easy to check in
That the guests didn't have any respect for the other guests sleeping in the room. I was kept awake until 5 am, and I had to get up at 7am.
Perfect wifi and location
beds are comfortable wifi location people
toilets were very dirty breakfast
Helpful pleasant staff Lockers Felt safe
very basic Lack of beside light in private rooms Constant aircon sound from ventilation system
Seriously one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Clean! Friendly staff, great bar !!! Amazing food !
Funky, clean, great location
Very large, felt like living in a village with hundreds of young backpackers, breakfast not worth queuing up for unless u r desperate. Was annoyed that u have to pay to leave luggage for just a few hours after checking out. Most places will do that for free.
Food Beer prices during happy hour Cool bar Friendly staff Essential facilities but good quality
Cold (ish) room Plug socket position
Alright hostel, good bar and place to chill.
Room is tiny, very hard for four people to move around in.
The hostel is VERY well located, the bar downstairs served good food, good bed.
Breakfast had too little options and the coffee was awful. The showers were good but there was no place to put stuff, so please, install hooks INSIDE the showers and/or a bench; I saw lots of people who had their clothes fell into the water, it could have been avoided. No individual light or power points, I hope they plan to solve that soon because it was a major problem in my room, where there were 12 people and only 4 power points. The room was to small for 12 people, there was no space to walk by, specially if someone was with an opened baggage or drawer. The ventilation of the room was poor, I washed a few clothes and it took an eternity to dry, even though the weather was amazing, not to mention the bad smell. It was really hot too. My room was right under the dancefloor and I could not only listen but FEEL people jumping because even my bed was shaking. To sum up, you can tell the hostel was recently renovated because everything was so beautiful, but this problems were kind of annoying if you're going to stay more time over there.
Nights are so noisy! My friend and i slept on the 3rd floor and did'nt had much sleep. Constantly doors slamming, people talking and walking in de hallway.
