It was super clean & the staff were really nice!
good Wifi, clean & comfort twin beds room with shared bathroom good location of London, staff kindly & helpful, 24 hr reception
not allow visitor to enter & difficult to see the hostel entry & price too high for weekend day
Localization Facilities Wi-fi
There was theree guy in my room and they spend hours talking loud during the nights. There were used to arrive in our room and spend more than 1 hour speaking with each other, and I was sleeping! I was around 4 or 5a.m. It happened twice! Toilets, on 5th floor, were everyday dirty during the mornings
The location is great, about 5-7 min from Russel Square Underground station. They have free WiFi. The room was clean, the bed was nice and warm.
The breakfast was ok, but could be a bit better. They can rent a towel, but you need to buy one if you forgot one.
WiFi works in room.
Can't cook there. The price is too expensive for private room. I'd rather find a bnb next time. The room was not clean at all!! Ironically we found our room become even dirty after leaning. Someone must drag the garbage bag in our room and make the floor disgusting. Won't recommend and will never come back!!!
Not light a bed in dorm.
Common areas nice Good bed Big bathrooms Pretty quiet at night Close to metro station
Breakfast total rip off, limited options and bread often stale Staff didnt seem to know where too many things were Staircase to entrance difficult with suitcase Rooms very squeezy No kitchen
Breakfast needs an upgrade simple things as fresh fruit or other options in bread, especially for longer stays as the reduced variety in offers every single day is not pleasant.. Bedrooms are only cleaned, bins emptied and toilet paper and hand wash topped up if requested
The hostel is really modern and clean.
The is lift is really slow.
The location of Generator Hostel in London is fantastic. I like the fact that there is good security around the hostel and the beds are really comfy!
The female toilets at level 5 didn't function well when we were there - always choked up!
The hostel far excan exceeded my expectations. To be fair the website gives a good show, I just had reserved ideas as it is a hostel! For central London this place is extremely clean and the beds we comfy. I was among the.only 38 year old's there but who cares when.you get a.bargain stay
The hostel was in Russell Square, so ten minutes's tube from virtually any cool place in London, in a huge and recently renovated bulding. The staff was really nice and helpful (I was even lent a padlock since I forgot to bring mine, even though you can buy one at the shop). The hostel was very clean and tidy, with a different theme and decoration style for every floor. Pub, disco, cafeteria, cinema and chill.out space (very big and comfy) and travel shop provided.
There were no bedside lights for the bunk beds (a bit annoying if you get back late at night and you're forced to use your smartphone in order not to wake up the other guests); towels are provided, but you have to buy them (at a bargain £ 4 price, though), no locks for the lockers, so remember to bring yours (you can buy them at the shop, anyway); body-wash and shampoo are really expensive at the shop (£ 1 each for a small 30 ml sample) and lastly no shelves in the common showers (at least at my floor) so you have to leave shampoo and body wash on the floor. If they can fix these trifles, the place will defintely get a 10 instead of 9 1/2.
In most the cleanliness was outstanding, staff on a whole were amazing! A great location to stay.
The ceiling in the room had mould on, other areas could have been cleaned to a higher standard level. Ie gents cubicle on reception level, it seemed all three high tables in the cafe were wobbly. I found the draught beer not to be the greatest (as a bar owner) found the beer to be flat. Probably to do with the glasses than just bad beer!
Would definitely stay here again if I revisit London.
Location, facilities, cheap breakfast, night security.
Some staff members (2 girls), small bathroom and no hangers
The price the crisp cleanbrooms and linen great shower and toilet facilities late bar and chill out areas.....
Breakfast wasnt to my taste.
great bar and lounge area clean bathrooms great rainshowers near subway russel square
location, cleanliness, space for leaving your staff in the bedrooms
the bed was noisy (metal base beds) and the heating as well; I would suggest curtains to give some privacy to each bunkbed and single lights, so you don´t have to walk around the room in complete darkness...and definetely, changing the base beds!!
lot of entertainment at the hotel and location is excellent :)
rooms are very small and bath too small :)
Great assistance from Eszter!
Nothing.. As they say: "we will be back" !!
It is hard to find fault in the Generator Hostel, London. The location, staff, rooms, facilities are all top notch.
The security staff. Our stay was made feel like a prison camp by the rude security following us from each area of the hostel to the next, asking us not only for our key cards (which we understood) but Passport Identification, too, and talkling down to us like we were children day and night when we caused no trouble or disruptive noise (particularly in comparison to other guests). I would make a point of recommending this Hostel to everyone if the security staff had not been so rude to my friends and I. There is nothing stopping you from running a tight security presence whilst being polite and mannerly to your paying guests. I cannot stress enough how horrible your security staff made us feel.
Clean place, rather comfortable beds (more than what we expected for the price), projection room : 2 movies every evening, lockers room very useful on departure day, bar to chill out in the evening after a long day, nice cafeteria with affordable dishes
Staff knocking on the dorm's door at 7.30 (and waiting for someone to open the door) to tell that the breakfast had started. Very noisy and scary alarm bell at 8.30, we were extremely happy to have set a gentle alarm clock on our mobile phone at 8.25...
