Very good during the Wallingford Bunkfest early September: good atmostphere and music in the courtyard. Our 3rd year at this hotel. Breakfast very good. Get a quiet room at the back in the newer building. Decor seen better days, but perhaps tht is part of the appeal!

The Teardrop Room where we stayed is very evocative and right in the historic part of the hotel. However having requested on the booking form a historic room we were surprised and disappointed to be taken to a modern room on arrival. It was only after going back and pointing this out that we were given a room change. Memo to staff: read customer requestst The restaurant didn't have a very jnteresting menu so we ate elsewhere

It was convenient There should have been spaces in the car park for disabled parking. The only accessible space was covered by a table and chairs and was therefore not available to disabled visitors.

Our room, staff, service and food were all good - we met up with friends and had our evening meal at The George where the service was excellent and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Hotel overall was fine. The staff were polite. The room was adequate and the location good. Breakfast was very good. The bathroom needs updating. Overall it was expensive compared to other similar (or better) hotels stayed in recently.

The quality of service and the food served for dinner was excellent. When booking one needs to be careful to understand that the cost of booking does NOT include the cost of breakfast which is charged as an extra.

The hotel was well located for the event I was attending. It was in an interesting area with beautiful surroundings The hotel is in need of some remedial work, the carpets on stairs and landings were in poor condition and although our chamber maid was very pleasant and maintained our. room well my sister's room needed skirting boards etc properly cleaned. I enjoyed my stay and have indicated that I would recommend the hotel but it would be with reservations reference £135 per night for the room without breakfast.

I didn't get the newspaper I wanted on Saturday and got one I didn't want on Sunday.Despite asking two members of staff I was unable to order a cup of coffee on Saturday morning. The shower didn't work very well. The bin was not emptied each day. Therefore, overall, I didn't think the hotel was worth the money charged for the overnight stay and I feel that the staff could do with some better customer service training.
