Score from 152 reviews Very good
This bed and breakfast offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms in a peaceful courtyard. It is within walking distance of the middle of Abingdon and has a heated indoor swimming pool.
Score from 167 reviews Good
These 2 Victorian townhouses are a 10 minute walk from the center of town, and an even shorter walk from Christ Church College and the Thames.

The room was perfect and really good value
Good food and selection of beers
Hotel bar and reception carpets are very tired and need replacing
olde worlde environment
perhaps a little bit under-staffed at times.
The location is lovely with the three hotels to go to and the tea shop.
The room was cold when we arrived as heating did not come on until 5pm which we were not told about. The electric tripped in the middle of the night and left us in the dark until trip switch was located.
The atmosphere of this beautiful building and location. Food excellent
Could not connect to free wifi
Breakfast. Comfortable bed.
Room was so hot at night could not sleep.Had dinner in the evening on Sunday, microwaved leftovers, complained took the price off bill, next night had a steak, more like a minute steak, very overpriced, £40.00 for two.
Main Road Room Location!
Poor waiting staff in restaurant.Cold rooms no heating in bathroom.
friendly approach. @ comfortable atmosphere for single lady traveller.
Locality was good Bar was warm and cosy.
Initial reception was poor. Room initially cold. Musty smell in the bathroom. Very difficult to turn lights on and off when in bed due to difficulty access of light switch`s.
Free Wi-Fi Breakfast / Evening Meal Real Ale Reception Staff on Checking In were great Bar Staff were good Room was fantastic
Staff at Breakfast were a bit surly and slow - I had to walk into the kitchen to get someone to come out!
Log Fires & a Friendly atmosphere made for a pleasant stay. great breakfast.
- quiet location - low price - excellent breakfast and good dinner
- the WiFi was not working during all my stay - the bathroom heater was broken (electrical fault according to staff) and the room heater was lukewarm when outside temp was below zero. This made the room unbearably cold to say the least - small room (but this was expected, for the price), motel type (cars parked in front)
Four poster bed in a huge room, beautiful Tudor building, welcoming staff, comfy armchairs in room by TV, great wifi service even at the further reaches of the property, spotlessly clean. Actually don't want to let people know how good it is because I want it all to myself!
Shower a little dated but otherwise totally perfect.
Super room with four poster bed. Piping hot water. Great service. Wonderful atmosphere and character property.
Lovely room..beautifull bed and decor..quaint..lovely room facing the abbey.friendly staff.
Room was VERY dusty in places. Reception are needs update..not welcomin..carpet very grubby and threadbare this also continues in to small office near reception..shame as the rest was lovely..
Simply LOVED the room!! The room was lovely and warm and the bed was absolutely amazing - best night's sleep we've had in years. We left too early for breakfast but the staff were very friendly.
We have stayed there twice. The second time we stayed, the room was above the entrance to the bar and was very noisy. We were constantly woken by the noisy smokers/punters. But the bed was so amazing that it did make up for the noise. Our TV remote control did not work because the batteries were flat, we had to use the controls on the screen. The TV was a large plasma and reception was brilliant, so we didn't mind.
The character room
Didn't seem many staff and room cold also heating not on till 6 pm and it was winter
Location staff friendly
Room absolutely freezing radiators useless ok I suppose if you stay in summer
Quiet village location, spacious rooms, free wifi, large car park
Heating could have been better
The staff, the location, the character, the breakfast
One of the bedrooms we stayed in needed a refresh and the other needed the heating fixing. Both carpets looked like they hadn't been vacuumed for a while.
General service and treatment from staff
Unfortunately, we had requested lactofree milk, which we were assured would be available, and this wasn't provided. We were told it had been overlooked. We had to supply our own.
my single room was good.
The carpet behind the reception desk is absolutely rammy. I was in my room for 2 hours before I took my coat off as the heater was on a timer and the staff did not know how to turn it on. The heating did not come on till 6pm; the temperature of the heating with the thermo valve wide open was such that it took an hour to warm the room. Breakfast should have been served from 7am but at 7:40 when I tried to get in the main building was locked and the kitchens and dining room were in darkness. As I had business to attend to I had to leave without any breakfast.
Location for visiting Oxford Nice village with choice of places to eat Breakfast was excellent Abbey opposite hotel
