General ambiance, location
location and quality of service coupled with good value for money. having stayed before we thought it would be good and not upset at all.
Excellent base an stopover on the way north from Devon to Scotland. The hotel is really comfortable and welcoming - we will always use it (no point in looking for somewhere else when you have found a good one). Once you have done it once, finding the car park is no problem!
Staff, well equipped room, interesting old photos of Penrith and hotel, location,
Hairs on the pillow cases and rather grimy and tired looking pillow protectors. Asked for another set of pillow cases at reception at 7.30, didn't get changed
Food in the Dining Room was excellent!
Pleasant hotel, lovely staff. Nice bar area and seating areas.
Expected the room to be much nicer and bigger for £140 per night
Good food and location
Friendly staff, quality breakfast, easy parking, central location, history, bright re-furbished bathroom en-suite..
Being a long established hotel in the centre of town, space is at a premium. Rooms therefore a bit tight and no elevators. But that's OK too, as friendly staff carried our bags up the two flights.
The rooms was beautifully designed, clean and cosy. Staff extremely helpful. Super parking facilities for town centre.
very noisy late at night, due to my room being next to the Woolpack pub. didn't have much communication between reception, staff and kitchen, example waited over an hour for a club sandwich which found out had been given to someone else, also emailed my Friday evening meal, dining room nor bar staff new anything about the order.
Good location in a busy town centre and the food was good.
The staff were in the main a bit disinterested and not overly welcoming Problems with car park exit, delay with food in the restaurant, and my bill was wrong and had to be amended.
Friendly staff Excellent breakfast Dog friendly Excellent website instructions on how to find
Noisy on a Saturday night (though lovely and quiet on the Sunday morning
the staff where excellent
Our room (no 5) was very nice. You can eat in so many different places.
Ideally situated in centre of town
The bed was comfortable. The Australian staff member was very helpful when I needed assistance.
The size of the room was very small, a bit cramped. The bathroom very small. Lots of noise from outside on the street.
Thought room was over priced. I also think it is wrong to charge supplements at breakfast for the salmon. I stayed at North Lakes Hotel in a better room with more extras with beautifil salmon breakfast at a much cheaper rate. I know where I will be choosing on my next visit to the area.
Very nice staff very helpfully Thank you
Breakfast was lovely.
Room rather stuffy and couldn't leave window opena s it opened onto a fire escape. The Clock bells woke us up all through the night.
Recent refurbishment of hotel
Stairs - above first floor still a problem for older people. Lift facility ?
Staff was very helpful.
Reception area was stinking due to its closeness to the kitchen.
Friendly bar staff and a good meal and breakfast.
Only choose this hotel because of the photos of the bedrooms. I was very upset with what we got. The ceiling and coving still yellow from smoking days.
Made us feel special :)
