In the Cambridgeshire village of Buckden, this Inn dates back to 1492 and is full of original features. The bar and restaurant have open fires, wooden beams and seasonal food.

Room lovely, staff very helpful and pleasant. Lots of different places to sit for a drink. Clean.
Staff in the restaurant seem overstreatched and unable to give customers the attention required. Pillows could be better quality.
Chef still cooked a roast for us after the kitchen closed. Thank you
The staff were really friendly and the hotel was more than accommodating with 5 dogs for the night.
Our stay was just one night, our room was above the kitchen so the extractor fan was on until about 9.45pm. The room decor wasn't brilliant and the lighting was appalling
The staff were frienly and helpful at all times. Car parking is easy & the hotel is central to the town.
the property is very `tired'. It needs complete decorative overhaul!
the hotel staff were very good,
room need a bit of work on windows and bath room.
The Wifi is not very strong. I could not connect
Very helpful staff; town centre location very convenient but hardly any traffic noise; restaurant food excellent as was the service.
The locality was suited to my needs and the staff were very helpful.I will be booking in again at the George.
Only one coffee sachet in my room and the overhead light above the bed my work.I didn't report this as I was only staying one night.
The staff are very friendly, the rooms are OK but maybe in need of a little modernisation. It has some charm but everything slightly creaky. If you find the likes of marriot and Holiday Inn a little sterile and characterless then this is probably for you..
Good location, fast breakfast and all the basic facilities that I needed - including a place to store my bike!
There was an Elvis night going on and that meant it was pretty noisy in the bedroom until Elvis stopped singing after midnight
Staff were very friendly and helpful to accomodate our bikes overnight before a cycle sportive
Very comfortable bed and great choice at breakfast.
Room cold as central heating radiator did not work and electric heater not on in advance of our arrival.
Lovely staff, great welcome. Unusual food in reasonably priced restaurant ( homity pie). Nice bar.
Could do with some upgrading, but adds to the character of the place.
The staff throughout were helpful and approachable. the room was warm, comfortable and quaint. The food was pleasantly served and good quality. A good atmosphere in a very good central location.
A minor niggle - would have liked more coffee/ tea in room.
Oldie worlds charm
We liked the overall cost, quality of the breakfast and the convenient location (If you need to be in Huntingdon !)
Live music on a Friday and the slightly down at heel appearance. Nevertheless we would be happy to stay here again
Comfy bed. Nice selection at breakfast. Restaurant menu was excellent value for money.
Hand dryers in toilet on same floor as room and could be heard when used late evening.
Staff are always very friendly, location is great and they do a good breakfast.
From memory the wifi isn't great in all the rooms and because mobile signal isn't brillant either it was hard to get on line.
Location. Friendliness/expertise of staff. Excellence of food. Some complaints expressed on Monday 2nd Feb were dealt with immediately. TV, number of towels, lights over bathroom mirror.
Couldn't work out how to turn shower on. Despite a request for help no-one came. Toilet extremely difficult to flush. Despite a request for it to be fixed nothing happened. I have an arthritic wrist and after 5 failed flushes EVERY time I used the toilet I had to resort to removing the cistern lid and lifting the flush mechanism by hand. Not very pleasant nor hygienic. The LEAST you expect from an en suite would be that the toilet flushed - easily.

The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The discounts on the meals were excellent and encouraged us to eat there both nights
Friendly helpful staff. Wonderfully quirky old building. Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. The bed didn't look that promising, but we slept very well. Good breakfast. We'd stay again and recommend it to friends.
Everything you need at the hotel is there but it is very outdated and worn. the staff are friendly and attentive and it is located centrally. The food was OK and as we arrived on a Sunday evening, the absences on the menu were understandable if a little disapointing.
If you were visiting the hotel 25 years ago, you would still have commented on how dated the hotel was. The breakfast (especially the drinks were a struggle)
