I booked this hotel as I had an exam the next day and it was close to the exam centre, the hotel didn't inform me when booking that there would be a wedding at the venue. The music didn't finish until 12.30pm and then there was people arguing outside of my room until 1pm, there was no one on reception that could sort any of this out and if there was they wasn't answering there phone. I've never been in a hotel were I could still hear music with ear plugs in and 2 pillows in top of my head. Then the breakfast the next morning wasn't nice at all, it's definatly over priced and would not recommend anyone to stay there. When I complained the next morning all I got was a lousy apology.
Room was clean and comfortable staff were pleasant
Staff, food, bar.
Door handle to bathroom stuck and was sharp.
Olde worlde charm, courtyard, bar area. Quiet night's sleep despite town centre location (no function on the night we stayed)
Some bumpy floorboards (character?)
Staff friendly helpful Rooms clean, comfortable. Location ideal for my needs
Nothing of note - except no wholemeal bread for toast at breakfast on a Monday morning!!! hiccup in ordering
Location into city center, close to railway station
Bar/restraunt was excellent Room was a good size Very clean City center location Friendly service assisted me with my heavy luggage. Storybook courtyard.
If i were to stay again i would ask before booking if there is to be a wedding during my stay...it was very noisy and there were numerous fights breakout in the room hallways. I felt they were understaffed for the occasion. Reception didnt always pick up upon calling.
The room was generally in very poor condition. Carpets dirty water marks down wall from a leak. Wallpaper peeling from ceiling. Fire door outside our room padlocked. Creaking floorboards outside our room especially noisy when people walking around at 3 am. Very disappointed as we booked this as a wedding anniversary treat.
The George has character. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good - well cooked and presented with good choice. There was plenty of hot water. We thought it was good value.
The decor could have been better. My room was very dusty. My window was fine but other members of my party could not close the window properly. The hotel was noisy but there was a wedding so that was due to other guests not down to the hotel.
Loud noise from wedding party that lasted beyond midnight. Children running up and down corridor throughout. The english breakfast was of a very poor quality. Room had faulty bathroom door lock. Broken and boarded corridor window. Sub-standard paintwork throughout. Not informed of wedding party. Need full refund!
Large room.Bed very comfortable. Good food. Good bar with great atmosphere. Ideal location.Staff very helpful. Quiet even with a wedding reception on same floor.
This old coaching inn in the town centre is delightful
My single room was unimaginative and the bathroom was old style. Overpriced for £90
The location is good, right in the centre of town and close to restaurants etc. The manager was friendly and helpful as were the bar staff.
The corridors are grubby and the carpets dirty and threadbare here and there. The walls and ceilings are cracked in places. The sink in our bathroom was very wobbly as it was not attached to the wall; neither did it drain. When I reported it to the lady on reception, she was offhand and brusque, saying "oh yes, we know about that". Well, if you know about it, why hasn't it been repaired? And until it is repaired, don't you think you should NOT be letting the room?
Close to Huntingdon centre and a great base to explore the surrounding areas. The food was very good as was the service.
The hike to room 18 and no offer of help with the cases.
Lovely comfortable room. Comfy bed. Brilliant breakfast.
We had 2 evening meals which were ok but not fantastic. Disappointed after great breakfast.
Staff were friendly Bed was very comfortable
While the room was surface clean it could do with a deep clean. Bed and towels were very clean.
Location excellent. A comfortable, friendly good value place. But...
Huntingdon is a quiet place, and the George seems to be the only joint in town with any life in it. Its courtyard is a magnet for undesirables: booze-heads and druggies. Makes one nervous to park. Hotel could do with redecoration.
Location and communal areas including restaurant
Bedroom bathroom was dated and needed replacement
Staff were very helpful and hardworking. They kept smiles on their faces even though I am sure they were very tired!!
Very noisy till late, but obviously it is a popular hotel/ restaurant.
Central location, the beautiful courtyard and very comfortable bed.
A very noisy wedding party.
hotel in a good location not much to do in the evenings tho only a couple places open for evening food hotel food expensive
prices of food in the hotel
Music duo were excellent. Staff were attentive. Good location
Decor is old, stairs are steep especially the 2nd floor. Should be priced around £60 per night
The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. The room was gorgeous, a great bed I had the best sleep! Lovely decor.
Needs a good clean and refurb
Fabulous building, great location.
The food was poor. Chicken served with blood running from it. When we sent it back the waiting staff were not very happy. I could write my name in the dust on the headboard. When I booked a twin room for two adults I got a room with a camp bed squeezed into the corner of the room blocking the window.
