Staff very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant room and a full length mirror in the bathroom!
The soft pillows :((
friendly staff .. food was good
rooms were too hot through the evening (summer nights).if it were possible it would be nice for the rooms to have aircon
Very much enjoyed the upgrade we were given and the hospitality of the staff.
Spacious and well- equipped bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
Room at top of hotel v hot and stuffy despite fan. Long stay parking not available at or even near hotel.
Excellent room with luxurious bath and shower. Very welcoming staff
Rooms were excellent. Very comfortable and relaxing.
Parking can be difficult as it's in Rye High Street.
They need to take care they do not over develop the site
Lovely suite which was tastefully decorated, attentive service and great food.
Our room was not clean to the standard you would expect. There was dust on the skirting boards and in corners and the mirror was dirty.
Food and service in the Grill was amazing
Rooms at front a bit warm and street was noisy
Location was perfect. Friendly, polite and very helpful staff, a delight to speak to. We stayed in a junior suite at the top of the hotel which was excellent, very comfortable bed and sitting area, bathroom was top quality. Breakfast was cooked to perfection.
It was a very hot day and night when we stayed and our room was effectively in the attic. Whilst an electric fan was provided it was far to not in the room. We were also woken by road sweepers very early on and as the traffic was negligible in the late afternoon/ evening we felt that the roads and pavements could have been dealt with then.
Location, breakfast, decor, staff were friendly and attentive. Second room we had was beautifully decorated with comfortable beds.
The first night we were given an attic room up about 4 flights of stairs. My mum found these very hard. Shower in very high sided bath she also had problems with. The room was unbearably hot , fan did nothing, nor did open window that you had to shut as seagulls were screaming. Next night on request they did move us with no argument to a beautiful room which was cooler. But I feel In exceptional weather they should not rent out rooms that get that hot as it could be dangerous to health.
Location Good food, particularly eggs benedict at breakfast
Whats not to like
The staff were perfect, helpful, willing and friendly. Our room was very pleasant and the bed very comfortable.
The awful artwork in the room - so tacky!
Adjacent property having building work. Baby being fed in restaurant
Luxury bathroom, quirky bedroom decor. Comfy bed. Great food and service. Central town location
No hotel parking
Nice room, comfortable bed, decent food in the evening
Not enough variety of fresh fruit and nuts for breakfast
Excellent location right in the heart of town. Excellent food. Comfortable beds. Rye is a lovely town with lots of character. The George has plenty of character too.
Our room was at the top of the hotel and so was quite a climb up - no lift, but it is a very old building! Gulls and traffic noise early morning - but not too bad. No parking, but cheap parking down in the 'cattle market' - though not on a Wednesday evening.
Beautifully furnished room, more like a home. Excellent bathroom facilities with huge shower. Bed v comfortable. We also had dinner there and must say it was one of the best meals we both had in a long time...if you stay you must eat dinner at least once.
Only real issue was that the room had an air co type control on the room, but could not see any sign of an air co vent anywhere, and the controller seemed to actually do nothing. As a result, the room was a little stuffy overnight.
Cool, stylish interiors and excellent service in a vintage town with funky shops; what's not to like?
The staff were very very helpful. The location is good, pity about no parking.
Room 31 It was far too hot and when the windows were opened on the ceiling the sea gulls were very noisy. Depending on the chef on duty the meals were either good or basic. Second morning my porridge (which was perfect the day before) was far too thick and stodgy.
really helpful staff, excellent breakfast. comfortable rooms with nice products!
would have liked a black out blind in the bedroom, i found it a little light.
Comfortable bed and lovely linen
Quite a small room
Location of rooms with secluded courtyards. Excellent bathroom facilities and products Attentive and helpful staff
Squashy mattresses and squashy sofas and chairs in luxury twin room. All difficult for a heavily pregnant person to get up from. This twin room also had no ventilation so was very stuffy at night. WiFi signal was virtually non existant in the room
