Rye Lodge Hotel & Spa is in the centre of the historical town of Rye, high on the East Cliff with views across the river.
Score from 176 reviews Very good
This mid-18th century former inn offers unique rooms, free Wi-Fi, and excellent views of Rye. Good food is served in the restaurant.
Score from 167 reviews Fabulous
With Norman cellars dating back to the 12th century and secret passageways in some of its rooms, this inn offers historic accommodation in Rye.
Score from 390 reviews Very good
Located in the Sussex countryside near the historic town of Rye, Flackley Ash is a delightful Georgian country house with an award-winning restaurant, a bar and spa facilities.
Score from 175 reviews Good
The comfort of the room the bathroom the view and the helpful staff
A bit pricey given our experience of other hotels with similar facilities.
Comfy bed, great breakfasts, cosy fire in the restaurant
Heating packed up on first night and nearly froze in my sleep
Overall room 1 was delightful. Ongoing issue with door card, however. Staff helpful
Rather unclean toilet bowl. Inefficient light in shower
Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, good food
Our room was not in the main block hence we had to walk outside to get to the bar and dining room
location, décor, style,
menu choice for dinner in the restaurant, single bed too narrow,
The George is in a great location on Rye's historic High Street, minutes away from St. Mary's Church & Ypres Tower and other points of interest. Beautifully done up boutique hotel. The breakfast is to die for.
The restaurant is fairly pretentious and overpriced and doesn't present the same value for money as the cost of the accomodation. Whilst the breakfast was delicious & beautifully presented, the service was a bit hit & miss. Often several waiters would ask you the same question or try to take your order- or would ask what you'd like for your hot breakfast whilst you have a mouthful of food from the cold buffet.
helpfulness of staff and general ambience.
car parking was a nuisance, but I see no alternative
Amazing bed...very comfortable. Great breakfast. We will definitely be back.
The only negative was that the room hadn't been dusted properly. The side tables, lamps, and radio especially. But the bathroom was very clean. Would have been nice to have an iPod/phone player in the room.
This hotel is all about attention to detail. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely big bed and luxurious bed linen. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice and the staff were charming and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Unfortunately the parking can be a problem but the location more than made up for having to park in a public car park, a few minutes walk away.
Staff very helpful .Lovely location and very nice evening meal
please see above, ended up having to pay an upgrade to get the standard of room we thought we had booked. Dining room at breakfast didn't appear to have been cleaned from the previous evening.
All of it no criticism at all 60th birthday treat and bed amazing and our own little area to sit out in !
The breakfast, The charm of the rooms
Prefer shower not over bath
The restaurant, the bedroom, the breakfast, the ambiance.
No parking, although it is nearby it up a steep pedestrianized cobbled road which could be slippery in bad weather.
Beautiful decor throughout with fine attention to detail. Care and thought given to allocating a room to suit individual preferences. Super breakfast included and lovely dinner. Helpful friendly staff throughout the hotel
We told multiple staff that we had gotten married the day before - no special congratulations note, bottle of bubbly or even chocolates on our pillow :(
Super friendly staff, great decor, awesome location, top breakfasts, quality bar... A great example of how to run a hotel.
Parking is a bit of a pain in Rye, not the hotels fault though.
Service, food and facilities were amazing.
It was very hot in the room (10). Fans were provided but I'm afraid I missed air con!
Beautiful room, friendly staff, great pub/restaurant, delicious breakfast.
The didn't have record of our dinner reservation in their system, though they still managed to accommodate us.
We loved our room, breakfast was great, the location in the town was central.
Loads of noise early in the morning with deliveries and bin collections. Hard to get dinner in the hotel, no light bar meals as an option especially as we were travelling with our 4 year old. Reception staff not that friendly.
The hotel was very comfortable and stylish and had a great atmosphere. Make sure you book for dinner as soon as you arrive as the restaurant is very popular. You are right in the centre of Rye and everywhere is within walking distance.
There was not a lot of parking near or at the hotel but we found somewhere to park without too much trouble
Very comfortable stay in well furnished room. Breakfast and meals were of a high standard. All staff we came across were always helpful and courteous. Location in the heart of Rye was excellent, although parking can be a little difficult!
Mobile and wi-fi reception was non-existent in our room, though fine in public areas of the hotel.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant room and a full length mirror in the bathroom!
The soft pillows :((
friendly staff .. food was good
rooms were too hot through the evening (summer nights).if it were possible it would be nice for the rooms to have aircon
Very much enjoyed the upgrade we were given and the hospitality of the staff.
Spacious and well- equipped bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
Room at top of hotel v hot and stuffy despite fan. Long stay parking not available at or even near hotel.
