Staff were all friendly and helpful Room was fairly cramped and had no bath. Car park was very holy and therefore wet and tricky to walk on.

Once we complained about the comedy of errors over less than a 12 hour period our evening meal and £20 were taken off our bill The decor of the bedrooms and overall was very shoddy. Old fashioned bathrooms and windows old cracked and drafty when we asked for a better room we were told we were in one of the nicer ones. No conditioner in the bathroom and in the morning they had run out of sausages and didn't know how to make a carpaccino although they did try two attempts! Thank goodness we only stayed one night

The restaurant 'rare' was great the food expensive but very good quality When we arrived the room was cold, so the receptionist had to bring a heater in so we could warm up. And the pillows were stained not nice, I think if your paying £100 + then standards should be a bit higher!!!

The room was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was lovely. Hot, well cooked, the nicest part of the stay overall. Loud noise in our bedroom which continued into the night which meant we were unable to sleep. Rude, unhelpful reception staff on duty during the night who refused to help resolve the situation.

Staff for lovely - very helpful and did all the could to ensure your stay was a good as can be. I had asked for synthetic, over feather, bedding, and it was all set up on arrival. Size of room and bathroom were great. Restaurant (Rare) I highly recommend - gourmet dishes, and top service (and great Sauvignon blanc!). The location of the room I was in meant I could hear the comings/going in the reception area, but I am sure if you asked for a 'quiet' room they would happily oblige/make sure it was a room away from the stairs/communal area. Bar this I can't fault it at all, only recommend it.

Management very friendly. I dined in the restaurant and can thoroughly recommend their chefs cooking. Hope they can keep him. Breakfast was also good value with a good choice to choose from. Found the reception on the tv not good and the shower a bit dated. But that is all. I stayed for one night before meeting up with family in Aylsham and have recommended it to them It's a easy walk into the city centre..

The restaurant staff were friendly, food good. The hotel was basically furnished but clean, location good. Although I had a quiet room off the main road and away from traffic, the room I had was quite noisy from other guests coming up and down stairs, doors banging, etc. That comes from being in an annexe built on a budget I guess. I also had the kitchen air-conditioning unit outside my bedroom window. I guess I should know by now that the reality is never the same as the photos!!

Very friendly and obliging staff. Let us have room early so we could change for wedding and let us order a plate of sandwiches when kitchen was a bit busy really! The breakfast was really good, very hot and beautifully served and presented. Good decent hot filter cofffee. Its a bit tired and slightly grubby? The snazzy fur covered chairs and purple decor seems sl odd. Our room was terribly hot and we did manage to cool it down in the end. You had to go out doors to an outside sort of out building(rm 33) spacious and comfy. One of the towels was so frayed I couldnt beilieve it! The bathroom smelled sl damp. The carpet in the room was a bit stained and the door to the room had very chipped outdoor paint. Its all higgledpiggledy.... Niot at all georgian!

Within easy walking distance of Norwich City centre. Easy parking. Excellent breakfast. Well decorated and comfortable bedroom. Mould in bathroom had built up to unacceptable level (Room 27). No external light between extension and main building.

The location and parking facilities were excellent. The room was nicely decorated but was subject to damp marks on the wall due to condensation. Staff were friendly and correctly offered to make a reduction from the bill when the chef didn't turn up for breakfast.

The restaurant design was nice and the shower The whole experience was terrible! I am writing a letter this morning to ask for my money back as it was far too expensive for what it was. The bedroom was next to reception which as a woodern floor and you can hear absolutely everything including the night porter finishing work and the morning staff starting work at half six! The restaurant was well over priced and the staff made me feel as uncomfortable as possible by putting me next to the door and next to a group of sixteen blokes we were the only people in the restaurant and they still couldn't cope with good service! The staff were to busy cuddling by the kitchen to notice I needed a drink and I had to the manager who was running around like a blue arsed fly for a drink. Reception was mostly unmanned and in the morning the lady didn't seem to know where she was let alone know what she was doing. I asked for a feedback slip and she had said they had run out at which point she didn't think to ask if she could help with any problems. All the staff need proper training in service even at breakfast you don't asked if you need anything more I.e sauces! You have to ask for yourself. I would understand if it was a cheap hotel but this was 80 pound a night and terrible.

The hotel has a homely feel and well situated. THE RESTAURANT AND BAR AREAS ARE TASTEFULLY FURNISHED AND MODERNISED. Unlike the downstairs areas, the rooms are in need of modernisation. The decor is outdated and the bathroom / shower facilities are below par with the rest of the hotel.

The look of the hotel from the outside promised boutique chich I, and all other guests I spoke to, found several of the staff to be slow and uniterested and some were downright rude. When I arrived there was no one on reception, a guest spotted my plight and chased down the receptionist. Brekkie the next day was a scant few cooked items on a plate with one slice of toast 5 mins after I had finished eating everything. In the evening I walked into the restaurant after having many recommendations from norwich colleagues citing the food is amazing. Well I walked in - no server around, so I looked for someone and indicated I wanted to eat. I was then asked to grab a seat near another single diner. I waited for 15 minutes before being given a menu in the restaurant - and only got a food menu when I actually chased one down. I then had to ask for a drinks menu 15 minutes later when they came to see if i wanted to order any food. The chap next to me ordered a gin and tonic - which 20 minutes later still had not arrived. THere was no one in the bar, which was within sight. If this had been a packed and busy restaurant I would have understood, but there were only 4 or 5 tables with people at them. All were very unhappy. At my second breakfast we all encountered the same disinterest. It's a great location, the rooms are 'ok', but honestly go elsewhere for your evening food and entertainment. I shalln't be recommending it. There are other much more personable places, with people who give a damn. Such a shame, the exterior promises so much.
