staff were very friendly. restaraunt and lounge were very nice.

we were in room 218,which seemed very small.the floor was sloping. the room did not appear to match the hotel's standards in comfort and style.

The room was very good, and spacious.

At breakfast I was given the wrong order but was pushed for time and couldn't wait for it to be rectified, I asked for condiments then had to ask again because the chap 'forgot' yet there were only about 8 people in the restaurant. Restaurant service was very poor.

The location as less than 5 minutes from the train station. I also ate in the hotel and the food was good.

My room was very noisy, I could hear the man in the next rooms conversation. Also they are refurbishing some if the hotel, so strong smell of paint, lots of workmen on my floor and next to my room, even at 6pm when I returned after being out all day. Therefore not very relaxing.

Central location reasonable price

Room was comfortable and superficailly clean however bathroom shower screen , taps and some of the tiled areas were mouldy and in need of cleaning. When we arrived our room had been prepared but the door was propped open with a towel which was not removed from the hallway throughout our stay. The carpet and some of the furnishings had clear cigarette burns and overall the rooms did not live up to the 'boutique' feel of the foyer and main areas of the hotel. The room was adequate for a one night business use but no longer. I would return to the hotel and would recommend it to others but only if I / they specified the refreshed and rennovated rooms.

Loved the central location of the hotel, train station minutes away, had an excellent stay.

No swimming pool :)

Not really a complaint but lack of parking was a problem, and a £60 parking ticket made my stay extremely expensive

A very old hotel being decorated by degrees. Our room had scaffolding outside old drafty windows (Room 315) The heating didnt work properly and we had to ring reception of occasions to get someone to help. My daughter had to sleep with her coat on one night. There were xmas parties being held in the foyer. Very dark with no overhead lighting only lamps. Staff friendly.

The position is great, rooms are comfortable and the staff are fantastic.

The location was good.

I felt the online advert was a little misleading. It gave the impression that you were getting a luxury room which would normally cost £273 pounds for a huge discounted price of £69. The picture displayed showed a room which was very luxurious - I.E. basket of bathroom shampoos etc, chocolate on the pillow...the room we were allocated had a bottle of body wash fixed to the wall. There was not a mini bar. Nor a full length mirror. Our shower didnt work. There was only one bath towel. I think that the room was good value for what we paid but I would have had an issue if I had paid £273 pounds to stay there.
