The staff were great. The lady on reception was brilliant, really friendly and bubbly and the chap at breakfast was really attentive, polite and helpful. The breakfast was really good ( I had the veggie breakfast) and the pastries were really fresh. It was ideally situated opposite to the train station (we had gone to a rugby match in Cardiff). My only complaint was the state of the bed unfortunately and for that reason alone we will not be staying there again until it has had some kind of refurbishment project. The Bed was so worn it dipped in the centre and I didn't sleep a wink all night, I ended up in absolute agony due to the poor condition of the bed aggravating a re-occuring back problem. It was so bad that I had to take time off work due to the pain it caused |

The room was smart, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was OK but for the standard of room did not meet expectations. Also the location of the hotel is in a rather run down part of town right opposite the station. There is a problem with drug users in the area so the front door is locked at night time. |

This was a last minute overnight stay. We had a very nice Executive Room with a balcony for the same price as a Standard Room . We thought that the decor and furnishings were excellent and didn't see anything like some of the other reviews have mentioned. Perhaps our room had been refurbished but it didn't seem the case as the rest of the hotel also seemd in excellent condition. The staff were all very polite and helpful and the breakfast was lovely. This hotel was excellent value for money when booked late through Booking.com. We travel a lot, visiting 2 or 3 different places a month, only staying in hotels that appear good value for money and this hotel was as good as any that we have stayed in, for any price. |

The waiter's response to room ervice Disappointing 4 star hotel they advertised the hotel as having a spa and gym, jacuzzi empty, sauna off, not sure about steam room, small poor tired gym. Big notice in the bedroom don't open the windows, but they were open and couldn't be closed so chilly in the night but in the day too hot hence someone opening the windows but they couldn't be closed and kept sopening. Booked double room got twin. Bar bistro intimidating full of blokes as just by the station, ordered room service bril food not so good brown lettuce 3 end of large toms salad??Could not get cold water in the room to fill the kettle all luke warm so couldn't have a glass of water, BBC1 and ITV channels missing presume not gone digital. |

Not a great deal, other than a very nice breakfast! I woudn't class the hotel as 4 star, the interior was alittle tired, with quite a bit of damage. The staff were OK, did'nt see any smiling faces, nor a good welcome on arrival! Then to sum it up Booking.com hadn't given the hotel the confirmation, so on arrival, we had to wait over an hour for the mix up to be sorted out, very embarrasing, as i'd booked the hotel for a few Family members too! No appology given by the staff, were very lucky to get a room, as they had to move other guests out, to allow us to stay! |

Good location, nice building and friendly staff. Booked a twin but was allocated a double room instead which, as I was sharing a room with my sister, wasn't ideal. Also asked for my son's room to be as close as possible to my room but he was on a different floor. |

The hotel had a good location, near the train station, and was comfortable. The restaurant was quite good, too. The bathrooms were very comfortable and nice to use. The air con unit in my room was malfunctioning and very noisy. However the staff moved me into another room quite quickly, which was very helpful of them. |

It was great that I was upgraded to an Executive room but the furnishings were showing wear and tear, the crt tv was not the flat screen I was expecting and did not work properly on all channels as had not been retuned with the digital upgrade. The balcony was a real plus but would have been much better without the cigarette ends everywhere (and I say that as a smoker who made use of the balcony for that purpose but would not just drop fag ends. |
