Dining room and breakfast. At check-in and check-out, no-one was on reception and we had to seek out someone to attend to us. The bar was filled with tv football fans so there was nowhere for guests to have a quiet drink. Room was okay but, perhaps, a bit small. From 3 am to 5:30 am, there were noisy guests running around our corridor and banging loudly on friends' doors, calling to be let in. Then we could hear them talking loudly next door and the sound like someone falling out of bed.

We liked nothing about this hotel, the room was very small, chewing gun on the floor, windows can't be opened, noise from outside all night as windows not insulated, room by a fire door, and kept slamming all night. Will never stay at this hotel ever again. Aircon is controlled by reception, so you have to ring down to have it switched on.

Nothing really, The only good point is that the police lay on a bus for away football supporters from outside the Grand Hotel which takes you directly into the away supporters compound for £3.20 return per person. The rooms are tiny, Breakfast service really slow, Staff miserable, Hotel not a 4star as advertised. Even the receptionist said its not 4 star standard.

Superb service by front desk staff -- very welcoming and considerate. Was upgraded to a top-floor suite, which was spectacular. Waitress in the breakfast dining room consistently acted if my presence was interferring with her day. Hire someone who actually cares about the job...

I really enjoyd the jaccuzzi and hot tub ,found it very relaxing .The breakfast was really nice ,also liked the fact it was cooked fresh to order .Staff were very friendly and helpfull ,also the cleaners were friendly too . On arrival myself and my husband were a bit disappointed as the room we booked for my husbands birthday didn't have a hot tub as we were led to believe on the internet ,(found internet a bit misleading ) upon approching reception, the matter was sorted almost immediatly and we were upgraded to the pentehouse room ,which was really nice and again very relaxing!!! Also as a nice gesture i recieved half a dozen of red roses delivered by the manager, which i thought was really kind .Have already recommended to a friend and would also recommend to family and friends in the future .(it was a friend that recommended to myself ) really enjoyed my stay at the grande hotel .

It's proximity to the station. Not as Grand as it was. Still preferable to Dragon etc Differentiation in comparing room sizes

Staff friendly efficient and helpful. Excellent liocation for railway station, Swansea town and public transport around Gower. Breakfast excellent. They had not heeded our request for a twin room and allocated a double. However when we asked to moved we were given a twin.

This was our 2nd visit to the hotel. I just love the staff, particularly front reception and cleaning services, they are just so down to earth and friendly. We were upgraded this visit which made it even more special. I do think however, that the spa services could be promoted a little more, did not even know they were available until I read a little leaflet in the room, will definately take advantage next time. The only problem we encounted was at breakfast, service was probably not as good as it could have been and had we not been before would have been unsure of what to do.

Grandma and daughter stayed over after taking our granddaughter to Swansea Uni for her first term. After spending a long day moving everything in we left her there and retired to the hotel for a good rest and found the hotel really comfortable and everything we needed in the room. We would certainly stay again. Thank you. No complaints but we were only there this time for one night. Welsh breakfast was ordered and enjoyed.

We found the staff extremely hard working and very professional. Our room was fabulous - although it was the penthouse with the hot-tub (which really added to our stay)! Our meal in the evening at the Bistro was reasonably priced and breakfast was lovely with again - a professional touch! The location of the hotel is brilliant - we wandered into town after our evening meal and found some great pubs! We will definitely return to The Grand for another stay!

It was renovated about 20 years ago to a very high standard, so it's comfortable and quiet. The day-to-day management is not without its difficulties but they are very helpful when you point out any problems. It's unassuming and friendly: good value for money. It's also 50 m from the station — and a taxi rank.
