Score from 628 reviews Very good
Lack of staff, poor quality and value of food, no atmosphere
Good location, easy to find, plenty of parking. Friendly helpful staff. Good food & wine selection. Reasonable prices. Garden wing room was large, clean, comfortable, quiet room with very nice ensuite.
Friendliness of staff. Spacious room. Promptness of reception In phoning us to tell us my husband had left his medicines In the room. We were able to drive back to the hotel and return to East Kilbride by 2p.m.
My husband found his bed too hard.
location is ideal for my business needs as I was working in Grangemouth and Falklirk. The staff are efficient and courteous. All rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Evening meal in Cooks was good and the service very friendly and efficient. Breakfast within the hotel cooked fresh and a good choice.
If you have a room in the new extension there's no way of getting to the main hotel without going out side. Noise insulation is poor especially if you have a door linking two rooms together. I stayed in the extension to the rear of the main hotel which backs onto the motorway. Shower couldn't maintain a constant temperature, something I heard other guest discussing at breakfast.
Good location, very clean and staff were friendly. Decor superb. We had an evening meal at the Cooks Bar and Kitchen which was the best we had all week (we spent the whole week staying at hotels in different locations). Breakfast was excellent.
It was a handy location for my next days work
Don't like garden annexes where you are separate from the main hotel.
Food in Cook's restaurant good. Everything freshly cooked and something for everyone.
Breakfast left a lot to be desired chef needs to review his methods of cooking.
The staff were pleasant & helpful. The facilities were good.
That room 106 was charged at the same rate as others in the main building. When it had a small bathroom with fixed head shower over the bath... & didn't have the larger bathroom that others had. Also although the room was a fair size the outlook from the windows was the poorest on the premises. I would charge this room on a par with those in the garden section.. Need to double up on the cooked breakfast items. Single bit of bacon ,sausage. Egg. Black pudding Mushroom & half a tomato does not make a 'Full Scottish Breakfast'.. Tasty enough just paltry in my opinion.
All the staff I came into contact with at the hotel were friendly and professional. The evening meals in the "Cooks Bar and Kitchen" restaurant were excellent as were the staff serving them. Room was clean and spacious with good facilities. All in all I can find nothing to dislike about the Grange Manor and would certainly stay there again when next in the area.
Proximity to the three castles we wanted to see and easy drive to Edinburgh airport
The deceptive marketing. Was expecting a traditional manor house in the countryside. Got a good road side motel. Be aware that Grange Manor is located in an industrial district directly across the street from a big warehouse.
The Grange Manor is alright! We were just stopping over for one night, as an alternative to stopping in Edinburgh (nightmare) - and because we were visiting the amazing Kelpies the following day. The hotel didn't change my life, but it was clean and comfortable. Big breakfast too.
It's not exactly in a breathtaking location - it's between a motorway and an industrial park. But it doesn't pretend to be, and it pitches itself as a convenient stop-off (which it is).
The main perpose of our visit was to see the Falkirk Kelpies. The location of the hotel was perfect for this as they were only a short walk away. The room was comfortable, breakfast very good and Cooks restaurant linked to the Hotel was also perfect.
Nothing apart from the view of the ASDA sign from our window.
Friendly helpful staff. Large room with all we needed A good shower
The room was spacious and there were comfortable armchairs for relaxing.
The accommodation was overpriced compared to elsewhere. We reported a faulty thermostatic shower valve to the receptionist on leaving, who showed no interest.
Pleasant staff, beautiful surroundings, quiet area, clean and comfortable bedroom, breakfast was included in the room price which was excellent overall cannot fault this hotel.
If I was getting married, this would be it. Good services for the entire wedding ceremony right the way through to the reception party. The Cooks restaurant nearby has a splendid menu. The chef cooks well. There is a reasonably priced Cocktail menu in the restaurant as well. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were really friendly. Even though both days we stayed there two weddings took place we were still taken care of by the busy staff. The room was very comfortable and a comfy bed too. There was ample space in the room to walk about. The breakfast staff were exceptional and the morning meal could not be faultered. All manor of things to eat and drink and ultimately to relax.
Our TOMTOM had dificulties locating the place as there was no postcode, only the name of the road. The location isn't great. We were supposed to have got a room with a garden view. We did not. There were two weddings each night we were staying there so unfortunately the noise of the music was ferocious. We could not hear the TV in the lounge area downstairs in the main part of the hotel and at night the music kept us awake, especially on Saturday evening when the music thumped until 2am, after which the wedding guests made their way to their rooms very noisily.
Food very poor
Friendly welcome Breakfast was the best
Spacious room Excellent value for money
Mistakes in charging Slow breakfast service
This hotel was great, the room was lovely, the staff were lovely and the food was excellent! It was great value for money.
Staff really friendly and welcoming. Hotel in ideal location to access local tourist attractions especially The Kelpies which are within walking distance. Food at nearby Cooks excellent as was breakfast in hotel. Garden room very spacious, clean & comfortable. Overall a lovely place just don't be put off by location.
Shower a problem as it fluctuated between scalding hot & cold then was fine for a few minutes then went hot again. Reported this to staff who were going to deal with this. Otherwise very comfortable facilities.
Breakfast was great even for my fussy 6 year old, staff very friendly and nothing to much trouble
Little noisy from road traffic
The room was good - spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast service
Non-existent signage to guide us from reception to bedrooms. Very slow lift, seemed like it wasn't working. TV in room was awful, poor signal or streaming capacity. No bedside lamp on one side.
Excellent staff, good breakfast, and a quiet location.
The bath water fluctuated from scalding to cold.
Everything was superb
