The hotel is in a lovely location. Room was huge and well equiped. Bar food was of good quality. The possibility for a little stroll along the river Thames a great bonus.
Whole experience was wonderful
The reception staff and bar staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were well equipped and very comfortable, great showers.
Breakfast service non existent. Arrived at 9am, no staff there to show us to table or explain. Waiter rude and we had to keep asking for even the basics. Table next to us had the same problem. Food when finally arrived was cold and bacon burnt but did not complain as wait or was completely disinterested. Shame as all other staff nice and had a good night's sleep. Suggest some training in customer service.
Room was clean, spacious bath room and the environment was great.
The ventilation fan was so noisy caused my partner couldn't fall in sleep. Been told the restaurant will serve food from 5pm to 9.30pm but when I call for room service at 8pm, it was told the restaurant closed. Hv to went out search for food but the near by pub or restaurant were all stop serving food after 9.30pm Breakfast was included, waitress handed the menu without mentioned about extra charge for the hot food.
Friendliness of staff
The way any little niggles were sorted out with minimum fuss and quickly.
Interesting old but comfortable building. beautiful setting with a river view.
The atmosphere is nice and cosy and the staff are very helpful. Although the room was a little tired and in need of a refurb it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Staff very friendly and accommodating, especially Kim from Housekeeping, who went above and beyond for us. Lovely setting, so peaceful. Great food, well-presented. Nice sized room in the Clock Tower.
Having to leave after a wonderful stay!
convenient as not too far out of town
No screws on bathroom door handle
I booked a room the night before I needed it...got a half price deal on a spacious double room. All the usual facilities in the room, very clean and comfortable nights sleep.
Ordered a meal in the bar. The pasta was lovely but the dish it was served in should have been warmed up. I had to ask for some bread to go with it...though it was served up promptly so not so bad really.
Staff very friendly
Breakfast - the hotel changed their breakfast policy in November without making this fact clear to guests who had stayed before, the breakfast now offered as standard is very poor and as such we will not be staying there again which is a shame because the location for us is perfect.
breakfast - food and service in restaurant
Relaxed area and nice staff.
The welcome greeting
price location size of room helpful staff free room service
bit shabby - doesnt feel luxurious inconsistencies
Lovely views, comfortable beds, caring staff.
ONLY a continental breakfast ( which means the toast and Danish and coffee/tea) were included in the price . However at breakfast we were presented with a full menu, so of course we ordered hot food. Then as part of the service toast etc is brought out, with no mention of a charge. Everyone else in the restaurant did the same. It should be made clear that a hot breakfast is extra charge. It left a nasty sting after such a pleasant stay to find an extra charge for our breakfast. Especially as I only had porridge , in quite a lot of hotels you can have cereal/yogurt as a continental.
Good value deal. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Shower pressure was poor (reported it and it may now be fixed)
Location great, staff helpful and great room rate and the orange juice at breakfast was freshly squeezed - brilliant!
Bed had one blanket and a heavy cover which made it difficult to 'snuggle down' - a duvet would have been so much nicer. The television was an old analogue set with set-top box, the bathroom was a bit tired and needed some maintenance (red 'hot' tap was in fact the cold and vice versa - room 6 if anyone is interested!)
Location and the friendly staff
The shower was not working properly
Home made cookies upon arrival! Room was clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and kind
Breakfast staff was a bit busy on our last day and had to wait for our coffee and tea. Perhaps it was just the rush of the morning.
Great location. Really helpful staff. Very good sized room
Dining and bar areas look a little tired.
Like the location Food was reasonably good but a little short on choice. Breakfast was good. Hotel was clean and obviously undergone a refurbishment.
Room took some time to warm up. A lot of road noise. Bed cover was worn and taty Menu main dishes nice but object to having to pay extra for fairly normal side dishes. Makes the main meal expensive for what you get. Breakfast was good and on my deal was inclusive albeit the fast checkout stated that only the Euro breakfast was included.
Room bland but acceptable, quiet. Ironing board collapsed and 3 light bulbs out in room. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. View and walk along river in morning was lovely.
Long wait for dinner and meal poor. Was told I had same veg as partner but it turned out to be spiced chick peas (not to my taste) although the lamb was good. Pudding was really thick inedible pastry and cinnamon custard was virtually cold. Breakfast was a much faster service and food was better. Stayed here out of necessity but would not eat here again.
Room was uninspiring
