Score from 124 reviews Superb
Very good location for town centre. Staff friendly & helpful. Good sized rooms. Ok for a cheap one night stay.
Tatty furnishings in room (torn sofa cover) and very dated, particularly the bathroom. Windows would not stay open so there was a block of wood on the sill to prop it open with! Parking not great as carpark very small & difficult to find & as it was full it was confusing as to where else to park
The beer (Wye Valley – wow), the food and the staff.
The rooms and decor could be a tad smarter.
Rooms need refurbishment and deep cleaning
The location is great if you want to be in the city centre and close to everything. I was surprise on how quiet it was when came to bedtime. Bed was very comfortable. I did say I wanted to take the bed home. Best sleep I had in months. The Staff were great and friendly. I can't comment on the food because we only went for overnight because of Husband's Xmas party but what I saw off the meals they looked great. We will try the food the next time. The Green Dragon is an old building which I think a couple creeky floors and out dated furniture adds character to the building. Ball room looks great. I loved it and so did my husband. Great value for money. I hope to be booking again in the spring.
Big smile the only comment I have is the smoking area could use a bit of (like we say in Canada) sprucing up.
Good location. Friendly staff.
the room could do with up dating the decorating carpets etc. The shower over the bath was not very good. On the whole thought the whole room needs to be up dated.
Getting a little tired
Great Staff, good size of room, comfort of bed and pillows, smashing 70s quiche, great hotel with old style, impressive rooms, and lovely helpful staff. Decent breakfast.
This hotel is in need of updating, the decor is old and also some of the furniture. The rooms could be more thoroughly cleaned, this place could be fantastic, if money could be used on it, all in all the staff made up for any negatives.
nice location and restaurant.Friendly receptionist and doorman
Rooms definately need updating
no heating on, floors creeking short of coffee room set up for one not two people
friendly helpful staff and nice warm lounge with the fire on
room was cold but when we told reception they were very quick to provide us with a heater, so all was good in the end!!
Very poorly maintained
No heatimg in room. No blankets in room.
Location, bath in the room, warm
breakfast, surly breakfast staff
Location and parking
No heating.poor staffing levels.receptionist had to give me his free standing radiator to take up to my room cause I had no heating on a very cold night.it had the back of the plug missing but I managed to use it!!or I would freeze lol!
Location is very central.
Furniture is old and hotel needs an uplift.
Finding the car park
Took little one down to breakfast she had toast and I had a cup of tea and was still charged the full price of 6.99 for the buffet. Showers were hard to work and could not adjust the temperature of the radiator in room
Reception staff excellent nothing to much trouble. Evening meal well cooked and served well. Breakfast good. The hotel was very clean and warm
Breakfast staff not to pleasant. Bedrooms needed updating chairs and furniture a little dated. Requested rooms close but they were a long way apart. No spoons for tea and coffee. No glasses in room.
Little Hot Water. The hot water tank needs cleaning as the water has a yellow/brown colour to it.
Not much parking, there was a leak, water was not that warm, tv was small and floors uneven, widows unsafe and sercurity issue, horrible experience
Wonderful atmosphere, an old inn with a real sense of history, and right in the centre of Hereford. Great that it's pet friendly. Well bring the dog next time. We don't mind
There could've be two reading lamps by the bed instead of one but I understand in an old hotel you won't get lots of power sockets.
Very little but at least the bedding was clean.
Cracked floor tiles in bathroom, virtually blocked up shower from limescale, towel radiator non-functional, water stains on wall behind electric heater. Breakfast, hot food not hot, hot plates not hot, DIY drinks, and I would not like to think what the scrambled egg was made out of. When checking out 'gentleman' was not presentably dressed and was eating his breakfast in plain view. overall not somewhere I would stay at again, or recommend
Right in the centre of town with free parking. Rooms a little tired but clean and comfortable.
The floorboards creaking
Brilliantly located in centre of old town and with all the charm you would anticipate from a hotel that has been in existence for hundreds of years. A chain hotel will give you a more powerful shower certainly but you could be anywhere in the world in some of them, this is idiosyncratic and all the more interesting accordingly.
