Delighted all round. Good to see refurbishment taking place while maintaining a lot of good period features. Food in restaurant was varied and of high quality. A great location in the town near cathedral and bus stop for excursions including Brecon. No complaints

The carpet was threadbare in the bedroom. In the bathroom, there were tiles missing from ther bath but they had left the tiles that had fallen off on the side of the bath. No soap in the bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was very poor quality. Buffet style but the food was tastless. The meeting room that we were using there was musty smelling. Tea and coffee were provided but we had to ask for milk for the drinks - they forgot to bring that. The sandwiches at lunch time were already starting to curl at the edges by the time we got them.

Wonderful hotel very old fashioned ,elegant hotel Breakfast ok ,creaky floorboards did add to character of hotel,but rooms need some TLC,dodgy toilet seat and a little stingy with tea,coffee etc in room-did ask for more at reception, but never arrived

Location, Location, Location ! I was attending an SAS funeral in the Cathedral on Saturday 13 April. I know the city well and chose the DG, as it provided ideal facilities and car parking. close to the event We ate in the restaurant on Friday evening. I did not enjoy the limited choice of food; mostly Indian. I have eaten enough curry to last me for the rest of my life ! Curry was also served at the "Wake". Is there no escape from curry in Hereford !

The service & the food in the restaurant was good. The carpet in the bedroom was dirty. Electric light shades dusty. bedside lamps broken. Table broken. Armchair should be thrown away. No plug in the wash basin. No hot water at 8.00am. Tap broken. Toilet roll holder broken. Towel rail not warming up. Extractor fan in bathroom blocked up with dirt.

Thought there was parking available but our engineer had to pay in public car park. Thought we paid on Booking.com but our engineer had to pay for accommodation with his own credit card. Phoned hotel day before our engineer arrived and having no payment was not mentioned. The guest had an injury that day, had to go to hospital upon arrival at hotel there was no end of problems. I phoned the hotel and explained about the injury and all the hassel but nothing was done to make his stay better and more comfortable. Sorry but I am booking the Travel Lodge in Hereford for our engineer next week.
