Poor menu selection at dinner, very poor selection of fruit at breakfast (i.e. not fresh). Hygiene in bedroom left a lot to be desired - stained mug and toilet, and hairs in my bath. Shower had no pressure whatsoever but, in fairness, when I advised them of this they did reduce my bill.
All the staff are friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Have stayed here on a regular basis with my grandson who loves the pool.
Using the pool said and hot tub
We stayed here for my daughters 18th booked a table for tea when we got there we were told they weren't serving food so why did they let us book a table also was told we could use the gym only to be told it's members only I'm totally disgusted in the service we got and won't be booking again
Room 3 was comfortable, breakfast was excellent.
Room 1 = broken toilet Room 2 = near gym - very noisy
food and comfort, with a pleasant atmosphere
Location was excellent, the bars where closed off for functions over Christmas but we were informed of this by phone call before hand. The room was comfortable and on the ground floor. Noise level was not an issue at all. I would stay here again fantastic night. The breakfast was lovely and the staff amazing :-) well done
Nothing to state here.
courteous and helpful staff on reception .clean room and linens ,comfortable bed ,excellent breakfast, with good choice to suit any appetite,
wash baisin had a marble surround ,which made it difficult for short people like myself to bend over to rinse my face without standing ontiptoe
Overall good value for money
Dated but fine Restaurant meals weren't great
Staff were brilliant, friendly and really helpful. Made to feel very welcome and must thank the staff member who came out in the freezing rain and helped me with my bags. Also liked being able to swim every day
Cannot think of anything
Comfy rooms Nice pub
Pool free Large Room Fab staff Super food on resteraunt Kids love this hotel will stay again well done staff warm welcome.
Carpet in room needs replacing however it didnt bother us AND IS CLEAN THROUGHOUT
Good selection of food for breakfast. Helpful and profesional staff. Iron in the room. Free Wi-Fi. Comfortable bed.
It was impossible to open the window to let some fresh air in.
WiFi. Bed. Leaving.
All facilities closed for Xmas parties. Nowhere to get food or drink, unless, as suggested, we drank out in the lobby!!!. Never asked if we wanted a reduction in rate, had to ask. Noisy. Room was a disgrace, stained furniture, enamel on bath worn away, filthy air vent right above the shower, which was very weak. A unit was obviously removed from wall as all holes still visible, looked awful. Room quite small. Breakfast was terrible, we got there about 9.30am and the food had obviously been there since 6am! The hash browns were literally like grease sponges. Terrible place. Avoid!
Nice lay out to the bar.
Was disappointed not to see a canvas of dogs playing pool whilst smoking ciggerettes.
After travelling all this way for a get together of friends (3 couples ) for a birthday weekend away, we found that the hotel had hired the bar and restaurant out for a function. No where in the hotel to have a food and a drink what a disaster. As it was 5 pm in the evening we had to cancel the stay and return to the Midlands. A simple call or email could have saved such a long journey and a disasterous weekend. As I booked this weekend for a friends birthday I can certainly say that I have never been so disappointed in a hotel in my life. Communication takes so little time but instead we had to endure a 3 hour round trip what.
Noisy guests with no consideration for others ( obviously not the hotel's fault)
The staff were very helpful and understanding about the issue which meant we couldn't complete our stay. The bed seemed OK when we sat on it so I've given it a "good" rating, and the WiFi was OK too. Had we completed our stay, I'd have been happy with the room rate.
There is no food served on Friday and Saturday evenings in December, due to private party bookings - unfortunately we weren't told this in advance. Our shower leaked and didn't work, plus there was damp in the bathroom and a foisty smell that affected my Asthma. Please note that I am commenting on the room we (nearly) stayed in, other rooms may be better...!
1st time I have stayed at The Greyhound and would definitely stay there again. Room was warm, really comfy bed, staff very helpful. Had a great variety for breakfast. I only stayed one night but if I had stayed longer I would have made use of the pool, spa, steam room etc like my friends did.
Staff where friendly breakfast lovely thou
Carpet in hallway to stairs not fitted properly, room had a damp smell
Excellent value for money
Had to ask housekeeping to change the pillowcases and the walls are quite thin (good if you want to listen to gossip) so can be hard to sleep without ear plugs.
Can't really fault the hotel at all. Nice and quiet, staff very friendly and helpful.
The only criticism that I have is the that the restaraunt and bar in the main pub were closed after 6 on the second day of our stay which was a problem as it is around 3 miles from another bar in the area so you can not enjoy a drink if you are driving. Quite annoying really as the party was not for people staying at the hotel. The other hinge was the very high cosy of alcohol in the bar. Over ten pounds for 1 pint of lager and a medium white wine. Would stay there again but the bar is a waste of time. It seems to be that they k ow that there are no other bars near by so they are making the most of that with the priced.
Brilliant afternoon, swimming, jacuzzi, chilling out in the room. Fantastic Tribute Night. There to celebrate my 60th birthday, 11 of us had a fantastic night. First two courses of our meal in the evening were fantastic and good value, the sweet wasn't good.
In the room handwash on the wrong side of the wall not easy to reach as it is above the loo. Room 110. Meal in the evening the christmas pudding was like an ordinary sponge pudding with not much sauce and I couldn't taste the brandy. Wine could have been colder and served in a bucket. We had 10 bottles and only the first 2 were served in a bucket. The ice melted and we were left with water and they kept putting the additional bottles in the same bucket, needless to say the wine could have been colder. Breakfast eggs not marvellous and the toaster took a long time to toast the bread.
Location, price, facilities
Heating constantly on in the room, too warm to sleep at night even with the window open
The TV had a problem with the BBC Channel's, but otherwise a comfortable stay.
