Fair prices clean helpful staff
At least it wasn't cold in the room
I didn't like the shower as the shower tray is cracked in the middle. The receptionist has lack of hospitality. The day before I stayed in I phoned them up to quiery about something, the receptionist women answered the phone and tge way she spoke to me was rude by saying" speak up" and she hang up the phone. I really wasn't happy with that attitude.
Location. Size of room. Warm and good facilities.
All was great and much better than expected. Large comfy room. Great Wifi access. Good food at the pub. Great value for money
Heating turned off for three days!! So new boilers can be installed!! Unbeleivable in January!! Flooring in bathroom loose and dirty. Staff unhelpful!
Good service at reception
Being disturbed by the maid opening the door when I was sleeping at 9.30. No vending machine for snacks.
Location and a good menue
No real adverse comments
room and hallways were warn, plenty of parking but this may be different in the summer when more people would visit the pub and outdoor area?
The room was rundown and shabby, when I arrived reception was unmanned and there was a 15 min wait to check in. The bathroom was really shabby, the floor, towels and sink were clean but the actual shower cubicle was a mess! the shower tray sunk in the middle so I had to balance on the edge of the shower as it felt like it would snap, the shower sliding door had broken at some point and been removed to be replaced with half a shower curtain. It was black mould and loads of rubber sealant all round the shower top and bottom, inside and out and if you are over 10 stone you wouldn't be able to squeeze between the broken shower doors anyway. .It didn't include any breakfast so it wasn't even value for money. The room was clean but it did have a very overpowering smell like men's deoderant. one window, that overlooked the carpark and pub smoking area didn't have a net curtain at the window an dthe other window that looked out onto the other building had a torn and very ripped net curtain. I didn't use the bar or restaurant but it's a hungry horse pub and the menu was the standard menu.
Overall very comfortable and clean
The bedside lights didn't work
The hotel was quiet and very warm to come into on a cold day
Bathroom needing some TLC but clean all the same.
Cheapest in the area.
Shower base was broken, room was very small, carpets were worn, table lamp didn't work, foot steps above the room at night. lighting was poor.
great place to stay , good wi-fi and the staff were great, food excellent.
Hotel is local to family
Room needs work peeling paint and lots of dust tea mugs did not get washed bathroom light did not work had to use sink light I have stopped here few times when visiting family and this was poorest room
It was clean and tidy. Had a good size car park. Good breakfast was good
Bedroom was very small. Wardrobe though I didn't need it did not have a hanging rail. Bathroom was tiny. Shower was tiny could not turn in it.
I could get on with work
Clean, friendly welcome, well-kept draft beers in the bar. Good value.
Single bed very narrow.
GOOD LOCATION AND PLENTY OF PARKING.
BATHROOM WAS DATED AND A LITTLE DIRTY, NO SOAP. NO BATTERIES IN REMOTE CONTROL FOR TV. I RANG RECEPTION, THEY SAID THEY WOULD BRING SOME ROUND. I AM STILL WAITING. THE TV WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN OVER MANUALLY.
1.The toilet system took 21 minutes to refill and there was no handled on the outside of the door to shut the noise out during the night 2. The room was very hot. The window backed on to the staff entrance and the generators so this was too noisy. 3. There was a water pipe in the room that was hissing all night. 4. The guests in the room above were walking about a lot until 1:30am And started again at 6am. Not an issue on it's own how ever the floor boards of the above room were so squeaking and creaky I could hear them walking back and forward and actually concerned they might come through the ceiling at points. Needless to say I did not a wink of sleep, saw every half hour on the clock and this was very detrimental to my 12 hours work the following day!
At 11:56 I came to reception, I rang the number allocated for 45 minutes as there was water flowing from the ceiling in the bathroom ... I did not get an answer.. I ended up using the towels provided in room 31 to soak up the water flood in the bathroom when the water finally stopped. We as a couple were recommended this hotel as the staff and accommodation were thought to be outstanding ... At this time we would have to disagree! We are very disappointed with our stay.
The beds were comfortable and the bedding was spotlessly clean. We had a good nights sleep and there was very little noise considering that the pub was packed all evening. To sum up, we only paid £35 for the room and we did get a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. If you are prepared to accept poor service for a cheap nights accommodation, this hotel is fine.
When you get to an hotel to check in, you want to be greeted by a receptionist and get to your room in a fairly short time. Alas this rarely happens. You arrive at the reception, no one there. You read the card which says, "Ring 216 for Receptionist". You ring and are told someone will be with you in a minute. You wait...no one. You ring again, different person answers, same reply. Eventually after 15 minutes an harassed employee arrives and you get booked in. Not great start! The room was jaded and the handbasin badly cracked We were surprised that breakfast didn't start till 9.30am on a Sunday. We arrived for breakfast at 9.35am to find no hot water for tea and coffee and no orange juice. We sat drinkless and eventually a young lad (who's head was obviously somewhere else), came to take our order. In the mean time other customers were complaining about the drink situation and someone filled up the water boiler, but it had then to actually heat the water. More waiting! Very badly organised.
Room was warm and fairly clean, and location fairly near to town,
Cup and kettle were dirty, bathroom generally in disrepair
The linen was clean and the bed comfortable. I was given a full refund as I checked out two days early.
The room is in serious need of refurbishment. Damp, crumbling plaster, drafty windows, dirty walls and floors. Some rooms have been refurbished but they need to to speed up and get them all done urgently.
The price, The food
Staff, Heating system
The room and ensuite were a good size for a single room. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice and soft. Having a tv with freeview was good and the tea station was a nice touch. The room stayed at a comfortable temperature and the gentleman at reception who signed me in was helpful.
The room was cleaned to a good standard but the damp mould on the bottom of the net curtains and around the windowsill let it down.
It's a Hungry Horse so everything is so so reasonable The room for the night cost just £39 without breakfast but that was only £3.49 anyway The room was clean and comfortable what more can you ask for Would recommend it to anyone
Nothing really But I must make a comment about other people's postings They pay next to nothing then feel they have to moan about something Please get a life people Anyone who goes will not be dissapointed I promise you
The bathroom looked very tired...I didn't want to use it in case I caught Something! !!
