It was near town and with good transport links and near some walk paths Toilet in the room I was in was not steady, could have been a health and safety issue. One of the screws that holds the toilet to the floor was not there at all and the other was loose. Also the window did not shut properly which meant there was draft especially being as windy as it was. Moreover the door between the room 71 and the next room could be opened and you could hear everything in the next room even if it was shut. Also the chair wobbled and was not sturdy.

The first room we were given was disgraceful, the curtain rail was falling down and the curtains could not be drawn, one of the light fittings had no bulb and was taped up, the light pull in the bathroom was only 6 inches long and we needed to stand on an upturned bin to reach it. We were given a new room which was slightly better the curtains could still not be drawn properly and my slippers stuck to the floor, the bathroom floor was coming away from the wall.

We chose to stay at The Highwayman primarily for its very close proximity to the family event we were attending and it just so happened that we were able to book a superior room at a special weekend rate. The receptionist, (Leanne), was very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, warm and excellent value for money. There was plenty of storage. The full English breakfast, (price not included in the room rate), was good qua;ity and freshly cooked and we were also able to help ourselves to cereals, coissants, (very)fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, tea, coffee and fruit juices. Overall, a pleasant experience. We were only staying one night and so our requirements/expectations were limited. We were more than satisfied but don't come expecting country house hotel grandeur, (even if your room has a four poster bed like ours!). Picky types will home in on things like the minor bits of damage to the furniture and carpet incurred by previous guests and some incomplete repairs but if they are tempted to query the use of the word 'superior', they should bear in mind what they paid. Ps. Don't book a room with a four poster bed if you are very tall or large of build!

I have stayed at highwayman dunstable luton for three times. Whenever I entered into the hotel there was nobody at reception and I had to wait every time on the reception, so the first impression wasnt good all the time I stayed. Check in time is 14:00hrs when I went there last time at 2pm my room was not ready and I had to wait 10 minutes on the reception to get someone for assistance and then 25 minutes for the room to be cleaned

Dirty bathrooms, run down scruffy public areas, 1 Mug between 3 in 1 room and 2 between 3 in the other. No iron or ironing board, or hairdryer. Not enough wine glasses in Bar, we were given half pint glasses, unpalatable food that had to be sent back, attitude of bar staff. Being woken up by open fire escape door banging most of the night, and then a guest banging on door at 4.00 am asking if we smoked. We had to prop a chair at the dooras we felt unsafe. Reception desk not manned 24 hourly
