“The wonderful staff - nothing was too much trouble. I was made to feel like an old friend! Love the history of the hotel too. Having lived in Wellingborough once upon-a-time I knew the history, but had never stayed overnight there. Will definitely stay again! XxX”

Friendly and family-oriented staff. Very old hotel with centuries worth of stories. Because the hotel is so old, its not kept up very well. Don't expect basic amenities in the bathroom, for example. There is barely usable soap. We also had to ask for a heater - you can't turn it on yourself. For some reason, my expectations were set a bit higher - not by much - but it needs to add a few small things that will make the stay better.

Friendly staff, a very very quiet room. Nice big digital TV in the room. Proper tea making facilities in the room (Royal Doulton tea pot, cup and saucer!) and biscuits. Breakfast was very good, exactly as i asked for it. Staff were polite and helpful

We were in wellingborough to attend a funeral and the hotel was in a very convenient location. The receptionist was very organised and had allocated us adjacent rooms. My single room was very comfortable with a surprisingly big bathroom. The bar was shut at 9.30p.M. ,but the receptionist went out of her way to get us some drinks.Breakfast in the period dining area was excellent. The cafe part of the hotel was pleasant with friendly staff. The radiator in my friends double room had been turned off and their room was cold initially. We did manage to park in the courtyard, but spaces were tight. You expect old buildings to creak ,but things creaked most of the night above my friends bedroom !!!!

One cold day, the heating was inadequate and the room was cold. The fire notice, which we are to 'read carefully', says that the Saturday fire alarm test is not a drill. It's an old labyrinthine building, which has a run-down feel and could do with refurbishment. Parking was difficult and it would be helpful to have another road sign or two, especially to alternative parking.

The hotel was located in the centre of the twon, which was perfect for me. The hotel is extremely basic, but good value for money. The staff were excellent and the room very clean and well presented.

The Hotel is very centrally located for easy access to the town centre and surrounding area. Ideal when you don't have transport. The staff were very helpful and friendly. In fact they organized meals for our family get together (18 people) at a minutes notice.

Nice room a bit dated but clean with large tv and comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. Hotel is 300 years old and has some charm. The bar isn't very.nice has loud music playing all the time. Some nice real ale pubs nearby

The location was good and the staff was helpful. The hotel I very run down. My shower did not work. There was dirt on the walls and it smells old and musty. In critical need of remodeling!

The newly renovated room made for a good small wedding reception. Some wonderful old rooms are hidden away. The hotel is being re-furbed and it needs it!

This hotel was in the middle of being decorated which it badly needed. It was the focal point for about 6 fights at least 2 of which the police were called for. Then at 6 am an industrial cleaner started work.

Breakfast was reasonable but no cereal. Centrally located. Secure parking was the main objective for booking but apparently this was full........with staff cars! Customer comes 1st? Wallpaper peeling off walls, decor poor in public areas.
