Lovely place, really friendly staff, excellent food. A really pleasant and peaceful stay in very nice surroundings. Would definately stay again. Very minor dislikes: too much furniture for size of room when child bed made up. No plug near a mirror to dry your hair. Double glazing gone with heavy condensation in patio door spoiled look of room (room 6) Large cobweb in bath room. Would still go back in spite of these minor things.

Our room was clean and quiet during our stay and the bedding was clean and crisp. The level of service was lower than expected of a hotel advertising its self as a three star hotel with a five star attitude. The tag line of luxury room was a little misleading as it felt no better than a Premier Inn and it took three room moves to eventually get a room with all the facilities in good working order. The restaurant was ambient however the space between tables was exceptionally small and impossible to have a private conversation espicially when the restuarant was busy. Our order of Mediteranian Vegatable Wellington was a piece of pastry filled with carrots, potato and tomato did not meet the expectation of 'mediteranian' and the Fish cakes were more of a potato rosti with onions as lacked any fish flavour!

We were very impressed with this hotel from the moment we arrived. The check in was easy, the staff were friendly and the room very comfortable. All the rooms have patio doors which lead out onto a patio with a table and chairs. Ours overlooked fields and hills, it was very pretty made all the much better as the weather was warm and sunny. We would definately come back again. Small point but the shower wasn't very powerful.

In a nice quiet location & very well set out.. The room was beautiful & quite spacious with lovely views of the countryside A beautiful room...such a shame there was dust everywhere !!!! The cleaning needs to be of a much higher standard..Skirting boards ,picture frames ,bedstead ,bathroom floor & taps all dirty...These need to be done thoroughly as it let's down a beautiful hotel.

Gardens very well kept. Hotel very clean. Courtyard design with tables outside the rooms very well thought out. Good secure car parking. Very helpful staff. Nice size bathrooms. One of the best hotels we have stayed in this year. Bed was very hard and we did not like the thick plastic mattress cover under sheets.

Peace and quiet and the room comfort. Quite expensive but well worth the money if you are looking for a peaceful break in beautiful countryside. We stayed in this hotel six years ago and then we could see the countryside from our room. A horse came to see us on the patio outside our room the following morning, magic! About the restaurant: evening meal was fine. My wife was a bit disappointed by her breakfast poached eggs which were more like hard boiled...

Good easily accessable location, clean, tidy & comfortable room, some staff very polite and helpful. Restarunt reasonable but somwhat over packed, very difficult to "squeeze" in between tables as they are so tight the chairs from the next tables clash. One table was situated ub front of a Fire Exit! Tables in restarunt too tightly packed and felt a little inpersonal.

“As a parent travelling with 2 young children, the hotel staff couldn't have been more welcoming despite arriving very late on our first day. They made us all feel as though we were important guests. The full English breakfast was super and delicious, even the children cleared their plates. I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone, it was a pleasure to stay there and we will definitely be going back.” Lissa, Newport |
